This boutique lodge serves as an oasis. Great place to spend your first night of arrival in the Arusha / Greater Kilimanjaro Airport area. Rooms are modern. Staff is friendly. Restaurant has great food. Only draw back is the barking dogs at night and stuffy rooms as there is no ceiling fan or air conditioning. Normally not needed.

Northern Tanzania is outstanding for adventure and exploring. With that said, trips can at times be taxing on mind and body and emotions. Returning to Onsea House each day and after a Kilimanjaro climb was a comforting way to recharge for the next outing. Staff is mostly Tanzanian and friendly and competent, with experienced Belgian management. The place is safe...

Machweo Retreat or Onsea Guest House was our first stop of a several week journey. We had travelled a long ways to get here and the surroundings and bed were comfy. However, the location is in/near town and we heard dogs barking throughout the night, which was quite a disturbance to what would otherwise have been a peaceful place to...

I recently stayed at onsea/machweo between climbing kilimanjaro and a safari. It was a perfect place to recharge the batteries after the strenuous physical activity. The staff- having already been in Tanzania for 10 days I had become accustomed to the warm hospitality ... the staff here were even more exceptional in this regard. Spa - the spa is small...

We stayed at Machweo on our first night into Tanzania and were really happy with our stay. We had arrived after quite a long trip and found our reception to be very pleasant and accommodating. Greeted with fresh juice (which seems to be standard throughout Tanzania) and then quickly escorted to our rooms (which was appreciated). Our room was nice...

Upon arrival at Onsea we were greeted by the staff with a delicious drink and we were given a tour of the layout and our room. Our room was stunning! The view from the balcony was breathtaking and we captured a sight of an amazing sunset. The bathroom was spacious, comfortable with a blow dryer, great bath amenities and hot...

we stayed at Onsea with a whole group before and after a Serengeti Safari: we had room 2: a very quiet room with a magnificent bath room and private terrace with view on Mount Meru sunset. There was an art exhibition at the swimming pool with with free snacks and drinks: all you need after one week dust eating in...
