My friend and I booked this place in a hurry so certainly were a bit apprehensive however the place turned out to be different. In a nice way :) one needs to walk a lot since the entire place is spread across a mountianeous area. The check-in was smooth and the staff showed us our room. It was a cottage...

As business group of the Netherlands we had a wonderful lunch at Kigongoni Lodge. Good food at a terrific place, surrounded by flowers, birds and little monkeys. Friendly staff. Worthwhile going there for a lunch in case you don't have time to spend a few nights there, which I definitely will do another time!

Wonderful lodge on a little hill with beatiful views around. When it's clear you can even see Kilimanjaro! Although we arrived later than expected we were served a nice dinner and the food generally was exceptional. Staff was always around to help and even brought wood to light the fireplace in my cottage. Rooms are spacious and clean. We really...

The lKinongoni odge is a 45 minutes drive from Kilimanjaro airport where we arrived in the evening. At the lodge we received a warm welcome by Sander, the Dutch owner. Despite our late arrival he arranged us some food (the samosas are delicious!). The bungalow was beautiful, spacious and clean. The next day we were free to choose our time...

This was our first night in Tanzania, after 5 nights in Rwanda. We did not have enough time at this lovely lodge. Our flight from Kigali was re-scheduled from a 4 p.m. arrival to a 10 pm arrival. We were very tired when we finally arrived at the lodge close to midnight (clearing immigration, collecting baggage, the ATM and 40...

In early September, 2016, our family of three adult couples stayed at the Kigongoni Lodge the first two nights of our month-long trip to Africa based on "Rough Guides" and Trip Advisor recommendations. It was as quiet, lovely, peaceful and relaxing as other reviewers have said. The friendly staff welcomed us as we arrived late in the evening, and made...

Oasis of peace I stayed 4 nights in the lodge. I had an opportunity to sleep in two different houses. One with a small terrace and another with a balcony. Both were spacious (bedroom and bathroom). There was a bath, shower and hot water. They were clean with some spots of limescale in the bathroom. The interior is pretty, simple...

Lovely setting, lovely rooms and amenities, great staff. Food was OK, but the views and quietness compensated! Easy drive from Arusha if residents want to escape the constant noise of traffic. Could do with a better (bigger) sign on the Arusha-Himo Road, but perhaps it keeps it a well-kept secret!
