My friends and I had been at a conference at the Ngurdoto Mountain Lodge for a week, followed by 2 separate 3 day safaris. Our safari arrangers (Boris and Linda from Escape Tanzania) had booked us all in at Tumaini so we could meet up again before our next 6 day safari together. I was blown away that such a...

Firstly my apologies to Andy and Lily for taking so long to write my review. My ex-girlfriend, Laura, and I stayed at Tumaini in April at the end of our safari holiday. Laura was staying in Tanzania to complete her elective, the final part of her studies before graduating as a doctor. Not only was Andy extremely kind and friendly...

My husband and I stayed here 4 nights before a safari. Our daughter was joining us and needed a 3AM pickup from JRO. Our safari company would not send a driver at that time, but the owner, Andy, made sure a driver was there for her. Andy also provided a driver for us whenever we wanted to go into Arusha....

I stayed at Tumaini Cottage before & after climbing Kili. My wife & friends then joined me for a Serengeti safari after which we stayed once more at Tumaini before heading to Zanzibar. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and breakfasts in the gardens a real treat. Wifi worked well, and we enjoyed a couple of well-priced, homely dinners there....

Stayed two nights here after climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and knew from the moment I set foot through the door that I had chosen the perfect base to recuperate. I was met by Andy and Lily the proprietors, who welcomed me warmly and ushered me to a very modern, shiny clean room with plentiful hot water, a TV and wi-fi access....

How lucky were we ( a party of 12 Aussie friends) to have chosen Tumaini Cottage as our home for 2 days in Arusha. We arrived late at night after a plane delay which could have been a problem for meals but Andy and Lilly were wonderful. It wasnt long and a hot and delicious meal was waiting in the...

All I can say is that this was one of the most pleasant places I have ever stayed in both home and abroad. The owners and staff certainly know how to make their guests welcome and by the end of the stay you feel almost like family. The food is excellent too. Highly recommended!
