When taking safari groups to Tanzania via Kilimanjaro Airport, my immediate concern is booking the best Arusha accommodation for our first night. My years of experience confirm that Tumaini Cottage meets this criterion in every respect. Andy & Lillian are the perfect hosts and Tumaini the perfect setting. If arriving in time for dinner, be sure to enjoy it here...

We used Tumaini Cottage for our base before and after trekking Kilimanjaro. Jumaini is off the main highway and is an oasis amongst the chaos. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the grounds have large beautiful trees and shrubs and are clearly looked after. The sunset from the dining area is simply magical. What made Tumaini great were...

We (family of 2 adults, 1 teen) stayed here for 2 nights prior to and 1 night after our safari. The place is simple but clean and contained in a quiet walled compound far off a main road. Andy, the owner, and his wife (never did get her name) were wonderful hosts who awoke at 4am to welcome us with...

We stayed here for two nights either side of our Kilimanjaro climb. The rooms are simple but very clean, spacious and comfortable. Andy, the owner is very friendly, kind and helpful. When we arrived we were welcomed with a glass of fresh juice and shown to our room. We ate breakfast and dinner here- we got to choose what time...

Tumaini Cottage was our first overnight accommodation after our lengthy (almost 26-hour) travel consisting of 4 flight segments, 1 long visa queue, late arrival at JRO (10pm) and an hours drive into Arusha. Boy, were we looking forward to a hot shower and we were about not to be disappointed. Despite arriving at almost midnight, we have been welcomed with...

I could not more highly recommend Tumaini Cottage! We stayed for 2 wonderful nights. The amazing eucalyptus furniture is handmade. The freshly-squeezed juices (mango, orange, passion fruit) were all from fruit just picked off trees right outside our room. The delicious avocados and bananas they served were also grown in the lovely landscaped garden. The beautiful circular restaurant gave us...

This small but cozy lodge is an excellent place for some peace and quiet. Was in Arusha for a 4-day network marketing conference. I like the authentic Tanzanian crusine, fruit salad and fresh juice that is available almost any time of the day. Keep up this great atmosphere Mr & Mrs Andy and staff of Tumaini Cottage.

Friendly hotel with personal attention. Owner showed us around. Food and bar were nice. Variety of plants on the property was amazing. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Situated in the middle of Arusha but felt really safe.

Our safari group arrived very late at night due to a mishap with our luggage at the airport and the owner stayed up late and still welcomed us with a smile and the most amazing juice I've ever had! The rooms are very clean with mosquito nets over the beds. The water out of the faucet was off-color but that's to...
