You would access this hotel if you are planning to hike the Kilimanjaro or go to your safari trips to the Serengeti . This is a perfect stop, with great rooms. The hotel has an old world charm to it, and also good food.

What a gem of a hotel in Arusha. Beautiful and unusually large and well-appointed rooms, engaging staff, nice combination of local and Indian food in their restaurant. Really enjoyed the stay and wish it had been longer. Grounds are beautiful and outside swimming pool looked inviting.

We stayed at the African Tulip upon arriving in Tanzania before a 7 day safari. We also stayed for a few hours in one of their "day rooms" at the end of our safari before departing home. The hotel was exactly what we needed after our 10+ hours of travel. Large, spacious rooms greeted us as we prepared for our...

I have stayed couple of times in this hotel. It is a great business hotel with a good choice of food. They remember your choice when you visit them once and provide you even before you ask for it. Good professional staff

We stayed here overnight before embarking on a safari in TZ. The hotel was quiet, very clean and very spacious. Large bathroom with great coconut lime amenities and pretty embroidered towels. The pool looked nice but we had no time to try it. Room was very big with large TV and writing desk and bureau. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast...

We were recommended this hotel by friends - excellent choice. The manager makes this hotel! Diminutive but oozing charm and presence, he took time to ensure we were happy with the room and other services. The hotel was full the one night we stayed but it did not seem crowded or noisy. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room and...

We stopped twice at the African Tulip as part of our Tanzania safari through Duma Explorer (a top rate company). The first time was an overnight stay in preparation of our safari. The second was to use a day room to rest up in preparation for a very long trip home. Both times, we were greeted by an attentive and...

We stayed here overnight on the way to the Serengeti.... This is a small boutique hotel - but great all the way around. Food, drinks, the room, the grounds, all first class. The room was really comfortable and nice, shower was so good, especially after a long trip. Also, the food was excellent, really enjoyed the steak, while my wife...

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was! A group of 7 were in Arusha for a meeting and we spent 2 nights in this hotel. Hidden in the midst of greenery was The African Tulip. The staff are extremely pleasant and ready to serve. The food is equally good. The rooms are what blew my mind! Very spacious and very...

We stayed at the African Tulip following a 12-day safari and found it to be a great choice. The hotel is fully updated but retains a genuine colonial feeling. We really enjoyed the pool area (with strong wifi signal there) and the dining. Our room was on the second level to the front and larger than most North American rooms....
