There is so much to do at Rivertrees it is a shame most guests just spend one night. We spent 4 nights, aside from the wonderful gardens to relax in you can go mountain biking, canoeing, do a cultural walk etc. birds are also plentiful, so we really advise taking full advantage of all these great activities, they are a...

Solo traveller, stayed 2 nights in mid December, at tail end of the “short rains.” A mixed bag, as many of these places are. I’ve listed some of the pros and cons here. Keep in mind this is subjective: Your cons may not be the same as mine. The pros: • Quiet and peaceful, far enough from the main road...

We arrived into Mt Kiliminjaro airport after a flight from Johannesburg to Nairobi and a long wait in Nairobi airport. This resulted in a very late check in to Rivertrees. It is a very romantic setting with the four poster beds and the room decor. I am in a wheelchair and the room had a lot of room to move...

After a LONG two days of travel from USA, we arrived in Arusha around 10pm and were taken to Rivertrees to spend the night before taking off on our safari the next day. It was such a nice lodge and very comfortable. Everything was arranged by our safari operator TrueAfrica, and the room was so welcoming. We were greeted with...

We spent our first night at the start of a Safari arranged by the UK firm, Go2Tanzania, at the River Trees Country Inn, near Arusha. It was an excellent choice; quiet, comfortable, great food and friendly/efficient service. Internet access was good. The food was so good that we stopped off at the end of our safari for a pre-departure lunch.

Charming stopover. Well run, beautiful setting next to the river. Foods was good and staff efficient and friendly. The swimming pool was not as portrayed in the brochures though.. Decidedly green, could do with a cleanup.

Travelers come to Arusha to jump into a game drive. Big mistake. I arrived three days before my game drive and stayed at Rivertrees Country Inn and these days were a highlight of my trip to Tanzania. The accommodations are cottages or lovely rooms in a farmhouse. The splendor is what is around them: a forest of awesome trees with...

Our view: The hotel was simple, but charming and the service was friendly and good. As a place to recover or prepare for a flight it was perfect and we would happily stay here again. It was not immediately next door to downtown Arusha (took 30mins by car) and if that is a requirement there may be more convenient options....
