We stayed here for one night after our Ngorongoro/Tarangari safari, and before flying home from Kilimanjaro airport. It's only about 30 minutes to the airport. We had a lovely big room in a chalet, with large comfortable bed, little deck at the back, and big bathroom. The grounds were large, and easy to walk around. They have made a nice... More

Rivertrees gives a first time Safari tourist a good transition into the Tanzanian hospitality/tourist world. By Tanzanian standards it is quite a nice place with beautiful grounds, spacious private rooms, decent food and reasonably good service. It is also fairly close to Kilimanjaro Airport - the international gateway to Tanzania's Serengeti etc. A few caveats: we use Apple computers, iPads... More

A perfect start to our holiday. We chose to have a night here after our night flight to recharge and rest before a nine night safari.. What a perfect place to relax. We had a room by the river which was so relaxing, sitting on the verandah, listening to the water and watching the monkies jump from branch to branch.... More

Stayed here for one night after a late flight into Kilimanjaro. Located about 40 min drive from the airport, accommodation is clean and more than adequate for an overnight stay. Rivertrees is in a picturesque location by the river, on a large property.

We stayed on two separate occasions, one night before safari and one after out trip. I give it only an average rating because while the location, grounds, and rooms are acceptable, some of the staff just seemed not to care. On the first night, no one came in for turn down or to tidy up the coffee area. In fact... More

A brief stop before departing Tanzania, only a short nap in the beautiful room. I can vouch for the pizza. The main attraction is the old plantation grounds, with extensive back lawn area and gardens. Sadly, the beautiful giant old trees are being poorly maintained. Large branches are cut off a foot or more from the trunk or left broken... More

Arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport at 8PM after 26 hours of travel from Atlanta, we were exhausted, and ready to wind down. The staff couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. The property resembles a botanical garden, with "cabins" scattered among the trees and plants, offering relaxing privacy. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, and clean. Food was excellent. we especially... More

The rooms are scattered all over the property, most bungalows shared with another room. Rooms are spacious and nicely a pointed; bathroom is large and comfortable with all the amenities needed! Beds were very comfortable! The grounds were comfortable and had a few sitting areas!

Rivertrees offered a fabulous stop after a long travel days to arrive in Tanzania. The staff, food, accommodations were perfect. We arrived late in the evening and they kept the outdoor kitchen open for us so we could relax and enjoy our first night! Will definitely be back!
