we went for lunch, which was very quiet. nice setting, with friendly, helpful staff and a huge wood fired pizza oven to satisfy teenagers missing food from home! in the evenings it's much more lively, with occasional bands playing. there is good accommodation here with bungalows to rent. Close to Arusha national park which could make for a one or...

Booked by our awesome safari company, Hoopoe, for our first night, this was a great start to an amazing trip. As we sat around the fire listening to our guide talk about being on safari and what to expect two huge barred owls swooped down and sat above us in a beautiful old tree. The rooms were right out of...

Spent our first of our fantastic 2 week safari here (our safari company Hoopoe was amazing!). Really nice remote hotel, you feel very secluded from dusty/chaotic Arusha and hotel is easy drive from Kilimanjaro Airport. Rooms were terrific, food good, staff friendly.

We had a group of eight that arrived late from the US and was greeted by a wonderful staff that made us comfortable immediately. The chef and waitstaff stayed to prepare us a light supper and it was delicious. The rooms were a generous size, clean and very comfortable. It was wonderful sitting out in the patio in the morning...

We spent one night at Rivertrees at the start of our safari and it was the perfect place to recover from our long journey. The rooms were great, we were in the old farmhouse and we had a large lounge area and terrace as well as our two rooms, all decorated in a very colonial style. The grounds of the...

The hotel itself is fine - quaint and rustic comes to mind. The transport is another story. Our inbound flight was rescheduled to an hour earlier. Our prior hotel called Rivertrees to notify them that we would be early. When we walked outside the airport, no one was there to greet us despite having already prepaid for transport. We called...

We spent a few days here relaxing after some travel. It was perfect for the kids! Enough to do to stay busy, but a very peaceful place to just veg. John took us on a bike ride tour of the surrounding area which was a hit!

Although we only stayed here one night, we loved it! We arrived very late from the airport so we didn't see how truly beautiful the grounds are until the next morning. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. And everyone was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious too! My daughter has food allergies, and I had noticed a "room board"...
