We stayed at Kung Shang Design Hotel from 19th to 23 June 2016, and were very impressed with how big their rooms are! Each themed room is about 66 sqm, with a living area, PS3 gaming (or WII), L'occitane shower and shampoo (and they even provided conditioner and body lotion!). The rooms were the biggest so far, in this price...

The rooms are huge and they have a living room for us. Love the size of the rooms. Walking distance to Liuhe Night Market so we can conveniently buy supper anytime we want. Wifi is lousy though. The breakfast is not bad.

The rooms are quite big, basically a suite is what I was in Room 408. Separate couch area for the TV, a desk off to one side and another table with a couple of chairs as well. Then there is a bedroom and roomy bathroom with a big round bathtub for two as well as a separate shower stall. There...

Great sized rooms, including great bathroom, decent breakfast selection, nice and close to the night markets and other restaurants nearby. Good wifi. Cafe downstairs should be open for longer hours, but a great stay

Had a bit of trouble finding this hotel initially, but once realised that it was only a few turns from the Formosa Boulevard MRT station, it was a snap to walk, despite the bumpy road. Note that there are very little pedestrian pavements so backpackers will have an easier time walking to this hotel than luggage luggers. Main hotel door...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located on the crossroad of Linsen 1st Rd. and Qixian Rd. in the downtown of Kaohsiung City, Kung Shang Design Inn is a six-star artistically-designed inn. Designed with multiple elements while extending the idea of liberal arts culture of Kaohsiung city, we sincerelywelcome our guests to experience the Kaohsiung style hospitality and fine arts. There's no clear boundary between art and design, and southern Taiwan indeed has a hint of nostalgic and traditional culture. The rapid development of Kaohsiung's culture and transportation in the recent years has indeed attracted many foreign tourists whodwell here and actually feel the cultural and arts development of southern Taiwan. What's more, the Kaohsiung-born people who have been working outside the city have a totally new aspect of their hometown. ... more   less

“If booking a designer room, make sure you request which one you want, I ended up paying extra just to have a Nintendo wii in my room that i never used when what I wanted was a race car bed.”

“Book a deluxe suite instead of a junior suite as it is just a few hundred NT dollars more but you get 4 pyeongs more in terms of space. Also, ask for a higher floor room for a spectacular view of this port city!”
