We stayed smack-dab in the middle of the park at the Leader Village Hotel. The Taroko were the aboriginal people of Taiwan, and the hotel is run entirely by these indigenous people. We were nestled high above the mountains and the clouds snaked all around leaving us in a dreamlike state. Dinner was surprisingly amazing. Totally different from any other...

The Leader Village is run by very friendly and mostly indigenous staff and is beautifully located. The rooms are in cabins, laid out much like a mountain village. Taroko gorge is beautiful. We had not sun: lots of clouds, mist and at times drizzle. It was still breathtaking.

The Leader Village is probably the best place to stay if you're visiting Taroko Gorge - it's right in the national park and the setting couldn't be more stunning. The food was good - different to what we'd had elsewhere in Taiwan, to be honest I didn't like everything on the plate, but I loved having food that was new...

The setting of this hotel is beyond amazing. We listened to some kind of animal calls late into the night and woke up to beautiful misty mountains and fresh mountain air. The staff were super friendly, and the food was outstanding. We did not expect to be fed so well at a hotel, but were pleasantly surprised. The art work...

Nice n traditional tribe resort. They do provide electric blanket. The rooms might not b suitable for wheelchair bound guest as there r a few steps leading up the rooms. I need to request the bed to stack higher as it was too low for the elderly folks. Morning air was very crisp n fresh, its surrounded by trees n...

Some context: I'm Taiwanese American, and have seen some aboriginal culture shows before. I actually liked this place before I saw the show. Beautiful setting, aboriginal food. And I was excited for the show because Taiwanese Aboriginals sing some amazing music. However, there were many aspects of this that completely turned me off from this place. 1. The owner is...

The self acclaimed tribal chief is also the founder of this resort. His vision and ambition for the tribe and the children were inspirational. His staff are all from the tribes. As the areas has quite a no of fatalities due to the landslides and earthquarks, many of the tribal families come from broken families. The chief has been getting...

Simply brilliant! Our family had a great time here, the rooms were clean and beautiful, the hotel is nested in a national park and wifi was super fast! Most important, the stay was educational and we were so encouraged by how the owner of the hotel managed to create an amazing eco-tourism business that is sustainable! The local aboriginal community...

The dinner and after dinner performance is presented by aborigines and the purpose is for sustainability for the next generation of aborigines. Hopefully, by staying in this resort, the owner continues his support to the younger generation to excel in schools or to be good in skill sets for a better life in future.

The sound of "the jungle" was nice when we wen to sleep. The staff makeup you feel like home and we can recommend a stay her if you like...
