This hotel is in a good location with direct access to the beach. The pool is lovely and clean and we had lunch poolside. The grilled steak melt was good value for money for lunch. We had breakfast and evening meal included and there was a large function on the evening which included beautiful dancers which was a highlight. As such most the buffet meal was more catering for locals than western diet. Arrived on a holiday so there were quite a few local stores closed so other food options were limited. All said and done this is a value for money hotel with good staff who are friendly and very helpful and could recommend this to travellers wanting to stay in this area
This is a 3* hotel, the A/C struggled and was noisy. The pool was fine and the food good. Shopping is handy and the prices are good if you bargain. I spoke with others who were staying for a week and they and I felt any longer than two nights in Negombo is a waste. The fish market is a bit of an eye opener to those not expecting to see such a primal place but worth the experience if you are not too squeemish.
If you want a pleasant beach hotel, in a good location between the airport and Colombo, then Negombo has many good options at various prices. The Paradise had a great staff, a good buffet and a nice setting to watch the sunset on the beach. Right down the road from a terrific seafood restaurant - terrific platter for 5 at a good price. Enjoy, Fr. Bruce+
First the god things. The location and the hotel surrounds are just great. You an walk to a number of local restauants and shops with no trouble at all. Reception is very impressive with an open style leading onto the pool and longue area. Staff are frinedly and courteous and the bar area is good. When we were there, a number of travel groups arrived and departed so they seem to have a good market cornered there. Unfortunately now onto the bad. While our room was spacious with a balcony there were issues with cleanliness, particularly with the bathroom and balcony. There appeared to be an ongoing issue with plumbing meaning the room smelt and ther was some mould on the tiles. To be fair to management, as we were only staying in the room overnight with a very early start, we did not complain or bring it to their attention, however, the problem with the bathroom was obviously not a new one. It is quite reasonably priced (about 11000 rupees fora night) but I don't think that menas you need to put up with a not so clean room.…
Hotel and staff great. Owner gave all of us a cocktail because a large outside party was on. Much appreciated. Very good position on beach and many restaurants around. Breakfast very good as well as bar. No downstair rooms but does have elevator. Shower in room tiny, so rooms need updating. Good value for a mid range hotel. Highly recommend it unless you are wanting premium accommodation
