We have just arrived back from a 11 day holiday at Villa Ambalama. I am actually worried about how to do it justice! I have travelled extensively, and with extravagance, and I don't hesitate in saying this was one of the most special times I have ever had. The villa is very thoughtfully planned and incredibly comfortable - wonderful art,... More

Entering the Ambalama Villa is a memorable architectural promenade. You pass through the house entrance, and cross a bridge over a pond to enter a light, spacious living room open on three sides with the rumbling waves of the ocean beyond and light-filled courtyards to the sides. The immediate impression is of openness, relaxation and comfort. The villa is tastefully... More

Set just off the beach Ambalama Villa is a cleverly designed home which blurs the lines between indoor and outdoor living. From the beautiful furniture to the stunning pool and the private outdoor showers, the whole place has been designed with luxury and style in mind. Whilst staying here, we were fortunate enough to see a giant turtle on the... More

We had an amazing stay at Ambalama Villa. The head chef Roshan was great at preparing all our meals with the freshest seafood and produce. Gayan and the rest of the staffs were simply amazing with the service. The villa have a nice modern tropical setting which is perfect for the location. The pool overlooks the sea and there's dining... More

We had an unforgettable week staying at Ambalama with our four children. The location is perfect with a stunning view of the beach, a great beach bar and lagoon a 5 minute walk away, a rope swing on the beach and great shopping and sightseeing in Galle a 10 minute tuk tuk ride away. The Villa is beautifully decorated and... More

We had an incredible experience staying at Ambalama! We were two families traveling together (kids ages 8-14 yrs) starting first in India. The end of our holiday was in Sri Lanka and I feel so fortunate to have come across this villa when I was researching. It was not only a beautiful setting but a wonderful, open house. The staff... What a fantastic experience! Having made a fairly long and tiring journey to the villa my wife and I were greeted with big smiles, cool towels and a refreshing drink....and then the views! The location, hospitality and whole experience (4 days stay) were fantastic. Nothing seemed too much trouble for the team there. The food was superb - we even accompanied... More

Great villa, suitable for a large family or group of friends - staff were excellent, counting the days until next trip for Chef Roshan's prawn curries and fish burritos. Good location for visiting nearby Unawatuna and Galle.

The wow factor as you walk into the living room and face the sea, hear the waves is unforgettable. A great pool and garden to relax in,and enjoyed some splendid meals. Totally enjoyed being spoiled rotten at this fantastic beach villa last week, which, for me, fulfills all criteria for a wonderful holiday destination: - spaceous and tastefully decorated accommodation on a virtually deserted beach; Huge Bali-style outdoor ensuite bathrooms - 'Club-level' service by friendly and attentive staff. Small example: I was impressed when staff discretely turned the comfortable sunning-chairs toward... More
