Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our son and his fianceé were married at the Laon Convention at the end of February, and several family members took the opportunity to stay at the venue.

Located on the same road as the Yuseong Spa, the Laon Convention is set back from the road, with plenty of parking at the front. Rooms are either in the main building or annexe and are quite modest, but also keenly priced. Breakfast is not offered to guests, perhaps because the kitchens are busy with wedding buffets, but there are a number of cafes, restaurants and convenience stores along the road from the hotel.

The rooms available for weddings are large and well presented and the hotel puts up a number of floral displays and decorates the rooms beautifully. The 'Bride Room' where the bride to be welcomes guests, is gold and cream, showy but still tasteful and suited to good photos.

Korean weddings are quite functional compared to a traditional church wedding and reception back in the UK, with the main ceremony taking place in a large room on the ground floor and then guests being directed to the large dining hall in the basement, where an extensive buffet is laid out. Chefs were cooking dishes at one station, whilst other dishes were in hot burners along two sides of a vast table.

Fridges located around the outside walls of the rooms contain beer and coke, for guests to help themselves.

As parents of the groom, we went upstairs with the bride's parents for a traditional ceremony, again in a well presented room.

Staff here clearly know what they are doing and everything is run like clockwork. This was my first Korean wedding, so I have nothing to compare it with in terms of what is on offer, but I know that my daughter-in-law and son were pleased with how their ceremony was managed.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room was really big and really old so I felt a bit scared. And it was too quite, like no guests around.
The bed was uncomfortable and the blanket wasnt thick enough.
However, I liked its location coz of many restaurants and cafes nearby.

Booked for three people, but received only one blanket and one towel on arrival. Also only two cups, two coffees, etc. After talking to the staff for a really long time, we were finally given extra blankets and towels.

On our last day we accidentally slept in, and had only half an hour before check-out. Called the front desk to ask for late check-out, and that was not a problem. They didn't even charge us extra.

It's an older hotel, but it looks very nice, especially the lobby. They have a nice library full of engineering and science book.

There is not much going on in the area, but the city center is only a short 4000 won taxi ride away.

This is without doubt the worst hotel that I have ever had to stay in. The stay was sponsored by the organising committee of the World Association of Chefs Societies for all of the culinary judges for the cooking competitions of the World Congress. Filthy looking carpets greet you on your floor, bathroom with shower fittings falling of the wall, stained bath, stained grouting and stained tiled floor. No breakfast or any other food service, odd smells in the room and bathroom, light fittings that do not work, no bedside lights, so you either leave the TV on to get to the bed, or else struggle in the dark if you get up in the middle of the night. Bath towels the size of two face-washers, but thankfully four of them because they are threadbare, you need all of them to nearly dry yourself.Wake up calls that never arrive, but no clock of any kind in the room. The only two hangers in the wardrobe are taken up with two gaudy dressing gowns. There was another outside hanging space with three coat hangers, All in all a nightmare of a stay in a most uncomfortable bed, unfortunately as this was the accommodating arranged for all of us, difficult to move, but if you have a a choice, avoid it. Must commend the housekeeping staff, they try everyday to fight this losing battle, but at least make your bed, although the linen has been the same for the last 6 nights.

All of the negative reviews of this hotel are referring to the older section. If your room is in the new addition, you will be very satisfied. The hotel has two nice flat screen TVs in addition to a small kitchenette. There is even a clothes dryer in the bathroom.
The location is a great place to experience great Korean cuisine and nightlife.
