Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

WOW! Daejeon blew my mind! This city and this hotel was absolutely everything I needed. I was all over the place in Korea, but the staff here were so kind. I will revisit this place for sure. Bar life pretty much sums it up haha

This is a very typical hotel for big cities in South Korea. The price is acceptable for the area. The room is quite small as well as the bathroom (very mall with only a shower). The breakfast is served in a separate restaurant in the ground floor. This is included by breakfast voucher.

Been here several times over the last few months. The Dusan Graytone is well worth the price of admission, even though their rates are also great. The location is near some good shops and bars and restaurants, and is within walking distance to one of the best eating, drinking, and entertainment districts in Daejeon. The hotel itself is on the same block as the City Hall subway exit, and is convenient to reach by city bus as well. The rooms are large and clean, the staff is always nice and super helpful, and there's a convenient store and restaurant located right on the premises. This is my go to stay location whenever I travel to Daejeon, and it's highly recommend to anyone looking for outstanding service!

Functional, comfy and clean; amenity kit, house slipper, electric kettle, basic things one may required are provided. Room is equipped with double doors, so good soundproof guaranteed. Convenient location too, just a few minutes' walk from restaurants, metro and bus stops. The hotel is in a somewhat office area, so expect shops/restaurants may close on Sundays.

Stayed there for 5 days. We appreciated the rooms with excellent wifi. Great automatic toilets and used the free shuttle service to our business. Shower and bedding not optimal as waterproof material is used in the sheet, producing sweating in the night. Tidying up of room some days not done. Breakfast only so-so

I stayed at Dunsan Graytone Hotel several times, across different types of rooms: Hotel type for Double, Residence type for Double, etc. I'd recommend this hotel for several reasons. Firstly, it is located near the city hall of Daejeon. You can easily take public transportations around the area. There exists many decent restaurants; mostly there are Korean restaurants, but as usual in other places of Korea, there are many types of restaurants as well. Secondly, the hotel is clean. It is not 5-star hotel and there is no great bar, but it is clean enough to sleep well. It also has reasonable prices compared to alternatives mainly located around Yuseong. Regarding room type, I'd recommend Hotel type rather than Residence type, because there are sometime smells of food on Residence type.

Recently spent a week in Graytone hotel while at a conference in Daejeon. The hotel was welcoming and staff spoke good English. Parking available and most of all close to the metro and bus stops for getting around town. Also very easy to get a cab. Took the bus from Seoul international airport (23,5000 Won) and a cab from the bus depot to the hotel (4,000 won). The room, although not huge, had a good bathroom, with excellent shower and pressure, amenities packages, fully equipt kitchen and washing machine, with a fridge freezer. Infact I could have lived here quite happily for longer. The bed was quite firm (read hard) but actually I slept quite well on it. breakfast was included in the rate at the café below, which wasn't fab but adequate. The rooms were clean and well maintained. Hotel is highly recommended. Free wifi and close to large Homeplus shopping centre and high street shops ie Etude for cosmetics, Uniqlo, Nike, Katmandu etc and restaurants.

This hotel is well located, clean, with friendly staff (whose English was better than what some other guests report). Wifi works perfectly. The price is very reasonable. The only caveat – but that is not specific to this hotel – is the breakfast, available at the Honey Bean coffee shop downstairs from 7.10 to 9.10 am, which is really mediocre.

The location is good with easy access to shops, restaurants etc. Staff is helpful in fixing problems. Not suitable for foreigner business visitors. All signs and instructions are only in Korean. The hotel staff speak or understand very little English. I can not believe that in this day and age there is a hotel that does not allow you to make calls outside (even with operator help). i had to miss an important business conference call due to this. Rooms are OK.

This modern hotel is well located in the newer/business district of town and is right next to City Hall metro station. The surrounding streets are filled with many restaurants and cafes and good shopping is nearby. The ground floor of the hotel even had a 7/11 and a coffee shop (where breakfast is served). There is also a noodle restaurant on the second floor and even a Thai restaurant right downstairs next to the entrance. English was spoken at reception which made check-in simple and there was on-site parking for free. We took a standard room, which was compact (maybe 20m2) but very well equipped. There was a kitchenette, kettle, big fridge and even a washing machine and en-suite bathroom with shower. They also had some washing powder and a good amenities kit in the room. The bed was standard korean size and hardness and there was a small flat-screen TV with a variety of channels. Helpfully, reception gave a printout of how to operate the korean controls in the room. Another good feature of the room was a second door attached to a landing; this kept noise from the corridors out. Breakfast was also included and was prodvided at the Honey Bean coffee shop downstairs (but only from 7.10-9.10am). The space was a bit cramped and on a busy weekend there were long queues waiting for the food and nowhere to sit. The food was rather unappetising and mostly cold and overcooked (awful rubbery scrambled eggs one morning and overboiled eggs the next). There were also some sugary cereal, sloppy looking salads and a few korean items. We took some bread and had it in our room. It is nice that they include it but best to go to a nearby shop for breakfast. Overall this is a very well-located, modern and comfortable hotel representing good value for money and I would recommend it either for a city stay or to base yourself to explore the nearby countryside.
