Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

When I first read the previous reviews, I almost changed my Hotel...I was reasurred the Hotel was a good one. Upon my arrival, I was impressed, the lobby is shiny fresh and clean, the dining area is well organized with pretty furnishings. Although the staff cannot speak english very well, we are in KOREA, they do try their utmost to assist the best they can. The room was very clean, not too many english channels. Does Canada have Korean channels, do hotel chains there speak Korean??(I think not)I found the people of South Korea to be VERY friendly and more friendly than MANY Canadians. We were accidentally overcharged for a meal at a beautiful restaurant. The hostess found us 15 min later outside-brought us back and reimburssed our credit card $40.00 (CAN)...NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I SEEN THIS!!---(tip-here it is considered an insult to accept a financial tip) We will definately stay here again! Omlettes, fruits and club sandwich were delicious-(not the cheeseburger).-can't have it all!

We stayed here in May for a couple of nights on holiday. Mediocre all round. Food was poor and spa was small so could have been included in the room price. The rooms were spacious but dark and a bit used. Our room smelt of stale smoke.

Stayed in family ondol room. Room size is spacious and clean. Has English speaking staff and are pretty helpful. Only negative point was hot spring is chargable even for staying guest though their English website stated it is free. No shampoo provided in spa though there is in room, strange. Overall a reasonable stay with convenient store and eating places nearby.

Some of this hotel's finer amenities include beds that stab you with springs and toasty rooms in the middle of summer. They actually turn off the AC mid-day to keep costs down, both in the rooms, lobby and fitness center. As for the location, if you don't mind being in the heart of Daejon's room salon (hooker) distict, then you might enjoy this neighborhood. The one positive thing I can say is that the subway is nearby so you can easily escape.

Where to start. The room wasn't terribly clean. The air conditioning, when put on high speed, blew out almost mildly cool air at a whisper. You cannot set the temperature, but must ask the front desk to lower it from 20 celcius - which kept the room at about 25C. They'll pretend that they don't know what you're talking about until you threaten to ask for the manager. Even when they do lower it, it only mildly helped. You can't open the windows.

The bathroom is decorated in early 70's avacado, the water pressure poor (but admitedly, the termperature didn't fluctuate)

The staff is surly, the restaurant expensive and the food poor. Overall, whatever you do AVOID THIS HOTEL.

This was the most expensive hotel I stayed in in Korea and by far the w orst. The staff barely spoke English, the first room I was given had a chunk missing from the toilet bowl, chunks missing from the carpet, carpet stains, cracked sink etc. The next room I was given wasn't much better and the shower produced a tiny trickle of water. When I checked out they tried to charge me a dollar rate, although I'd booked in euro and it was way above what I'd booked. Location is horrible and sordid.
