We were supposed to stay in another hotel in the area, but it was booked. We checked in and the room was dirty, and there was blood and hair in our sheets. We left the motel and found another place to stay.

When we arrived the Owners had allready given to others the 2 rooms that we have booked. Of course without advising us. No help and assistance from any of the personnel who even insulted us. Anyways the place was looking poor and dirty.

Due to some miscommunication with our guide (my mistake), we did not book any hotel in Ruteng and Bajawa, leaving us trying what was left available. And they still had rooms for a good reason. At New Bintang, we changed room twice: the 1st room had a hole in the ceiling. Like a big hole. The 2nd room had mould on the wall right next to the wall. Mind you, not like a humidity stain, no. A proper mould growing out of the wall! Not only disgusting but also not healthy at all. Our 3rd room was ok. It was reaking of cigarettes as the staff was smoking right next to it. The bathroom was less than appealing, and due a power cut, I ended up with my hair full of soap and no water. By the way, the water never came back, even in the morning. Breakfast was largely avoidable. Overall, did not feel very clean, and simple does not need to mean grim. All this for 350k, which is way too much for what it is. Avoid.
