The Kelimutu Crater Lakes Eco Lodge was designed and built by the now internationally acclaimed eco designer Meryl Wilson. This is the fifth lodge of the company and follows our strict eco guidelines follwing our six pillars for local employment, growing our own food, use of renewables, sewage recycling, protect of the local environment and training program for key stakeholders. The lodge is a great stepping stone to see the mystical crater lakes, hike in the mountains, for birding, artists (see our Art Tour)and the start of our Trans Flores safari to see the Komodo Dragons based at our Bajo Lodge.

I only stayed here for a night. However it’s a nice stay. The hotel is very quiet, nice surroundings. I was given a room not far from a river so at night I could hear the river flow. So nice. Food is ok, room is clean and the staffs are friendly and helpful too. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your report on your stay - pity only one night as this is a special area and worth 2 - 3 days of exploring the waterfalls, birds and walks of the surrounds of the village of Moni Thank you for your support

I stayed at Kelimutu Crater Lakes Eco Lodge for three nights; the bungalows are set just next to the rice fields, in a peaceful and quiet area, and I greatly enjoyed my stay in the village Moni, with hot springs, opportunities to hike, and a few nice cafés. The service at the Lodge was outstanding, the room was beautiful (only the bathroom seemed a bit dated), and I did not mind the little gecko visiting my room occasionally. The Lodge seems to be a good employer for the local community (the prices are higher, but the concept is entirely different and cannot be compared to the local homestays). Excellent breakfast, good dinner and very friendly and helpful staff. The Lodge organizes tours to the Kelimutu lakes. Transfers organized by the lodge seem to be significantly more expensive than other taxis (but worked out fine for me, and I learned a lot about the Lio culture).

Thank you for your commnents on your recent stay at our Kelimutu Crater Lakes Ecolodge. This is greatly appreciated especially your comments on our staff service and looking after you. All or staff come from the village of Moni or live within 22km of the lodge (a Green Globe requirement to prove local employment). Most started with us when we opened in 2010. Our company believe it is only through sustainable jobs based on ecotourism that local communities will conserve their environments. Thank you for your support

This lodge is wonderfully situated in a valley with a small river running through its grounds and surrounded by picturesque rice paddies. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We had a room in the main block, above the restaurant but didn't find any problem with noise. the room was on the small side but comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and very good, although we had to ask for more coffee. Dinner had to be booked, in order for it to be prepared on time, and was good but only Balinese wine was on offer, other than beer. There is a lot to enjoy in the surrounding countryside, such that our two night stay felt too short.

We visited here on a short visit to see the Kelimutu crater and the area and weaving villages. The whole staff team were amazingly friendly and helpful from the time of booking to when we left Looking after us really well . The accommodation follows its eco roots and the bungalows are well appointed, maintained and beautifully located. The renovated bungalows particularly are quiet and have beautiful views over the padi. The hotel is well landscaped and you can walk from your room to see the local village and padi fields. The hotel can help you organise the sunrise walk to Kelimutu crater and to the nearby weaving villages located near Moni Thank you Patris and team for a great stay!
