I've spent there a couple of nights - just because my bank blocked my card and I had like $20 with me. The common area is ridden with cockroaches. Rooms smelled terrible (the tiny bathroom inside seems to be the culprit). Taking a shower is possible only while standing one leg in the toilet bowl. My room was painted yellow,...

I've stayed in many places in Medan, and in the backpacker price range this is my choice. Very friendly and helpful staff, Annie cooks up a storm, great Gado Gado, cold beer, often good atmosphere and functional rooms. I see many reviews about the rooms, but I don't know what they are expecting in this price range, I think the rooms...

The wikitravel review of this premises could not be further from the truth. This guesthouse is in horrible condition, filthy and the staff are horrible. There is a strange slight youngman who pesters guests and it was off putting. This youngman and another youngman repeated made advances towards me, which was very unsettling and they would not leave me alone....

When we (my boyfriend and I) arrived in Medan we came to Angel guest house to have a drink and meet another traveller we'd met at the airport. Immediately after sitting down we were approached by a woman (who I believe is the owner) and pressured into buying their package for the Bukit Lawang jungle trek. Soon after paying the...

Wouldn't reccomend this as a place to stay at all. We arrived, expecting to be getting an air conditioned room with a double bed as was advertised on booking.com for the price advertised there. We got there and were told that the price they had advertised on the site was for a fan twin room and we would have to...

This place was reasonably priced with very friendly staff. As an all female staff they definitely prefer men and they get a better room rate! The rooms aren't very clean and the bathrooms even dirtier. Ok for a night if you need a cheap place to stay.
