Clean accommodation well located within Bukittinggi. The accommodation is very basic but functional with hot shower. Bukittinggi is a great town to spend time in Sumatra because there is so much to see around it. Unfortunately we got caught by bad weather and decided not to stay as long as we would have liked. It cost 50,000 IDR from Padang...

Brilliant location, room was ok. Staff very friendly! Michael was brilliant! He even toke me for a day out to Lake Maninjau and showed me lots of things on the way which I wouldn't have been able to do without his help!

I've booked a room in Orchid hotel two days before my trip and sadly when I arrived they just give my room to others tourist without confirmation. It's so unprofessional and they didn't give any suggestion for me.

Hotel is the hang out spot for all the local tour guides so getting stuff organised is really easy. They reception staff are friendly and helpful, they make you tea or coffee whenever you like and toast with jam in the mornings. Location is great, just up from china town, just down from De Kok cafe where there's live music...

We were very disappointed with Orchid Hotel. We got a price quote and after accepting it they changed the price saying they “forgot it’s weekend” and they have “weekend prices”. The original price quoted was 150.000 rupiah per night for a double room with hot water, but they changed it into 350.000 rupiah. Because of this, we eventually chose a...

My partner and I only stayed one night at Orchid Hotel before we moved on to Lake Maninjau. Our room was perfectly average; the bed was comfortable, the space mediocre and the shower temperamental to say the least! The noise from the mosque in the morning was terrible- it started at about 4am and must have gone on for 2...

A basic hotel. Conveniently located on a less-noisy street among several other guesthouses. The rooms are spacious for the price. Bright upper-floor rooms even have balconies! Good for the price range if you like standard-sized rooms. Tour guides available at the lobby.

Its a very basic hotel with very friendly staff. They give free coffee or tea and bread and jam every morning. Rooms are okey to sleep but that is pretty much it. Location is very good and many food shops around. Thr rooms are near to the mosque so expect some prayers early in the morning.

Average hotel with clean rooms, but nothing special about it. Weather in Bukittinggi is not so hot, due to it's higher above sea level, so in the morning it can be cold in the rooms, because in our room was also a window without glass. Hotel si also very close to mosque, so we woke up in the 4:30 a.m....
