Pick up from Ferry terminal was well organised.
Check in as well and very friendly with cool towels and a cold drink
rooms are a bit tired but well maintained, for that price I would expect a much better and modern room.
beach view from balcony is very nice
not too much noise from neighbours
the breakfast is generally very good but to have no fresh carrots for the juice at 08:30 in the morning is rather strange - they told us almost every day of the 6 days that they already finished them and have only carrot juice which will be charged! Is that a joke? the kitchen had carrots, but the free juice bar didn't?!
Lucky our waiters were rather friendly and organised two glasses for us on two days.
Management must rethink this rather strange situation with limited carrots

Restaurants offer a good variety of food but not up to standard when compared with the prices. It shouldn't happen, that a sauce to a pasta tasts different on two successive days!
The pizzas at the pool area are really tasty and the beer is always cold but watch the prices!

Generally the personnel is very friendly and well trained, but I would recommend to have them pay more attention to the guests and act quickly to avoid long delays.
The breakfast staff is definitely standing out in a positive way and manner.

The beach is beautiful, well cleaned every morning and large enough to be not crowded.

We spent 5 nights at Angsana with our 14 months old twins. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, room was great, with sea view and garden. We loved it.
Used the room service every night and really enjoyed the food and wine.
The little downside :
- the prices (laundry was extremely overprice), food was expensive too,
- petrol on the beach (everywhere on the island) but it was during Monsoon season, maybe it's not like this all the time
- location : beach is private and beautiful but the resort is remote. You can't really "go to town" easily if you want to buy a few things, go to the pharmacy or eat somewhere else, see other sides of the island, the culture, the shops etc.
You are totally depending on the resort's driver if you want to go somewhere and it's not free.
But if you don't need to buy anything this hotel is perfect !

We used many of their facilities, pool, restaurants, spa, baby club... everything was realy great

Dear ndhaucourt, I am truly delighted to learn that we were able to provide you with the true Angsana experience during your stay. Thank you for your gracious mentions on our location, surroundings, staffs and facilities. Indeed, being situated openly exposed to the open sea sometimes we have challenges with tar on the beach. Kindly rest assures that we monitor this issue from time to time and alert the guests accordingly. We also have our team on standby to clean the beach immediately. As for the price, we do carry out monthly price surveys of the other competitive hotels in the area and try to be in line with the market. Please be assured that we are addressing this issue. Meanwhile, the team and I are looking forward to welcoming you back to Angsana Bintan once again. Sincerely, José Luis Barrera Hotel Manager

Our trip to Angsana was excellent overall. The resort location is picturesque, nestled right on the beach - there's not much more you could ask for. Unfortunately when we were staying at Angsana there was some tar washing up on the beach, but the hotel pool is an excellent alternative. The service was great and the staff were both welcoming and professional, however prepare to pay 'Singapore prices' for meals and services.

We first stayed at Angsana Bintan over 15 years ago when the complex was quite new. In the best possible sense, nothing has changed except for the addition of a Beach Club. The hotel staff are just as welcoming and efficient, the dining experiences excellent and the accommodation comfortable. We were in Bintan to play golf and to relax. The Laguna Golf course (our 'local') was very enjoyable to play and in excellent condition. We stayed for a week on this occasion and received a complimentary room upgrade, possibly reflecting how quiet the resort was as a result of the coronavirus scare currently sweeping the world. I understand comments from other reviewers on the somewhat dated decor and high prices (particularly when service and government charges add over 20% to quoted costs), but the positives far outweighed the negatives. One thing I do wish is that a top sheet for the bedding was offered. It was a bit too cool to sleep without any cover, but the doona provided was far too hot for comfortable sleeping and required the air-conditioning to be cranked up.

Had a wonderful stay at Angsana a few months ago. Since it is so convenient to pop over for the weekend, we decided to do so again. The staff are very welcoming and took the trouble to source a ground floor room for me. Thank you Victor and Dasma!
The Cove still serves up very yummy food, -try the High Fiber Vegetable salad.
Played 2 rounds of golf at Laguna. The greens are better maintained than last visit and the debris on the beach which was noticed the last time was cleared.
No wonder the course is busier... but it was still well paced. Enjoyed the games tremendously, shout out to my caddy Asih, a very sweet girl with super good eyes for reading the line and spotting where the balls land.

Nice beach and pool. Xana offers good drinks and music in the evening.

I expect to be back there before long.

We spent 1 night at Angsana as a quick getaway. The golf & stay package is very attractive as it comes with unlimited golf. I took advantage of the spa facilities which I would recommend. The spa therapists are well trained and the treatments are reasonably priced. The rooms need upgrading and the breakfast isn't that great.

The hotel is old and rundown and in need of a renovation. The rooms are very tired and not very well cleaned.. Service was incredibly slow- we waited over an hour for a pizza and then they realised they had forgotten to put the order into the kitchen. Room service was similarly slow. They were late coming and picking us up as they had mistakenly gone to another property to fetch us. There were extremely limited water activities available due to the monsoon. The treatment at the spa was great but the spa is old and rundown as per the rest of the resort. Over-priced for what it is and not living up to the Angsana name.

My wife and I have just returned from a 5 day stay at the resort.
The staff were good and the room was serviced daily and kept clean.
However, the beach out the front was a disgrace and we walked on it only the once. Large pools of oil everywhere and plastic products of every description littered about everywhere. .Staff told me that this was not a once only oil spill but an everyday occurrence.
This beach would most certainly be closed off were it here in Australia.
The bar and food prices are expensive and we both ate and drank in Singapore far cheaper.
Things to do are very limited.
If you catch the ferry over there and back from Singapore do not go economy, it's like a cattle stampede.
First class on top is available.
I would most certainly not recommend this resort nor would we ever consider going back.

Dear Simmo48, First of all, thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your views about this recent stay. It with dismay that we read your overall feedback in the understanding that the fact of not being able to enjoy the beach and the sea due to the oil spills was the main cause of your dissatisfaction. This unfortunate issue comes and goes, depending on the weather condition, and we regret that happened heavily during your time with us. The authorities are fully aware of our mutual concern, and actions are taking place at international levels to star seeing gradual improvements in the next coming months and years. From the mid of March onwards, the beach gets clear from the oil, so we hope that you can give us another chance to change that perception and experience a true Angsana experience as initially expected. With best regards, Jose Luis Barrera Hotel Manager

Angsana Bintan is in a lovely place on a wonderful beach, but feels old, dated, not particularly well maintained.

Our family room felt a bit like a 1990s apartment in spain, not particularly well appointed, and very basically furnished. The bathrooms in particular are well overdue modernisation, and the hot tub was cold water only.

We ate breakfast in Lotus restaurant, the staff were amazing and cant be faulted. Breakfast buffet was ok, some may say fairly limited, personally I found it fine. Strange though as a family resort that there would be no hot cholocate drink available in the morning.

The beach was kept spotlessly clean and was a highlight of the resort, though the Angsana pool was uncomfortably warm - to the extent i'd even say the temperature could be a health risk in terms of bacteria.

Pool at Cassia was much more pleasant.

Prices were disappointingly Singapore levels throughout the resort for food and drink, which is perhaps understanding at the higher end restaurants of Banyan Tree, but the prices in the grab and go at Cassia for a soft drink were frankly exploitative.

This is a weak reflection of the promises of the Angsana brand - it certainly did not feel like a luxury stay in any element of our holiday, and overall we were disappointed with value for money.

Hey, I did the same situation with you. Just bought the ferry ticket in the day before evening. You do not need arrange the shuttle from port to the hotel. There are some differ resort desks in arrival and hotel staffs will stand by there. Just tell them your book name and they will ask you some simple questions to make sure you are on their list. But, if you want to move around on bintan island, you can collect the taxi driver in the port. it won't be able to call the taxi service in the resort..
