The only thing going for the economy of Papua is the giant copper and gold miner PT Freeport Indonesia (PT FI) and some palm oil plantations. The Rimba Papua Hotel is owned by PT FI and run by a vendor to the company. If you know anything about multinational miners and especially PT FI, then you won't be surprised by...

I stay here for a week or two multiple times per year. The pool is nice but 5pm is way too early for the pool, pool restaurant and bar to close. The lounge is great in the hotel and the restaurant has good food. The hotel is beginning to show its age, but is still a comfortable place to stay...

I stayed in Rimba Papua for one night. The room is clean, good service. The pool is good for children, The location is only 5 minutes from the airport. The only cons is internet wifi. This service is only for Freeport staff.

Excellent hotel, great food and brekky. Great Satellite TV. Stunning grounds. Sadly internet is not available unless you are a Freeport employee making doing business very difficult. Pool bar closes way to early! Lifts under construction.

Consulting for Freeport and after spending a week in guesthouses this was the best you can find. Big rooms, excellent bathrooms and good service. restaurant is good, but do not change the menu often. Wine choice is poor. Surroundings are stunning, golf course good and the pool even better. A winner in West Papua.

I ordered a prawn cocktail to find that in 3 weeks the portion had shrunk 30%, the prawns were still in their skins and they were not deveined. My Fillet steak arrived before I had completed my cocktail. I requested a medium rare steak and well a well done one was presented and all they could do was smile. This...

If you say you are having lunch and a drink they might just let you use the pool. It's a slice of what timika could be like if the money that pours in and out of the Freeport mine to the wealthy people could look like. No scooters. Clean water. No rubbish. Stunning pool in a beautiful environment.

it's beautiful place to stay because you can see everything so natural. i love the kindness of their staff, peaceful scenery and their good food and beverages. this place is well mananged by PT. Freeport there for if you want to stay here, you must have colleague who work at PT. Freeport too or PT. Freeport partner. that cause why...

Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect. Room is modern, spacious and clean with wooden floor which I love very much; cool and warm at the same time. Bathroom is equipped with a fresh scent, clean with complete amenities. Pool is cleaned every morning, and has a lovely pool side bar and restaurant. Breakfast is also a plus. it is...
