I had the most divine stay at the serene Bisma Cottages in late December. Needed some me time while I rediscovered yoga and did some beautiful rice paddy walks 10 min walk away. I stayed in the Deluxe Cottage which had recently had some renovations including a new bigger balcony outside overlooking rice field. As much as I was looking after me I did enjoy a sneaky bintang at sunset looking out at the rice field sunset each night. The room was spacious and clean and the bed like sleeping on a cloud. After exercising in the morning and finding great coffee and cafes close by I would relax by the pool. A true haven. The staff were perfectly available if needed and shared interesting anecdotes about Indonesian life. A special mention to gorgeous Gusti. Always offered me snacks or drinks by the pool. A great location and an easy walk to shops/ monkeys/ restaurants. Kelly is a wonderful host always knows the latest and best new openings in and around Ubud and will be happy to assist with tours or activities. Will certainly be back.

I have lost count how many times I have stayed at Bisma cottages. It is always my go to stay when I return to Bali and that’s generally every 6 to 12 months so I’m there anywhere from once to twice a year. I absolutely love it. The location is perfect. It’s cute, quaint cottages that are just so quiet and peaceful and even though you’re in the thick of Ubud, Bisma cottages feels like you’re just in your own little oasis away from it all. The other major thing that I love is that Bisma cottages is walking distance to absolutely everything and I just love being able to get up go for a walk in the morning. Go have some beautiful breakfast somewhere or walk through the rice terraces, or go shopping on monkey forest road it’s just the absolute best. Thank you again to the incredible staff who look after me every time I come to Ubud from Bisma cottages it really is my second home and I cannot recommend enough especially for a single female solo traveller

Bisma Cottagesquickly became my home away from home. It was also a safe space to be as a solo traveler. The staff were also amazing and were so helpful when I needed something. The loction was also so close to the main road of ubud center. No more than 15 walk down the street!

We decided to give this cottage a go after recommendations from a friend who had stayed there jn the past- and we couldn’t be happier with the delightful little piece of paradise we experienced. The welcome drink of coconut water on arrival and cool towels we were offered were nice touches after a long humid day of travelling. The grounds are well kept, with lush tropical gardens surrounding the cottages and a good sized pool. Absolutely recommend the day loungers next to the pool for an afternoon nap or sneaky Bintang in afternoon breeze. Our room was clean and well appointed- complete with a Mosquito net over the bed which along with the gorgeous natural timber decor provided a lovely tropical ambiance. There was plenty of space for the two of us- a generous sized bathroom, lots of storage and a balcony with outdoor seating provided ample space for us to relax without being cramped. The bar fridge was good size for holding enough bottled water and snacks for two people easily. The staff were all friendly and helpful- and the information/cheat sheets for tips about the local area (directions/recommendations for places to eat etc) that were provided in the room were a life saver. We found the cottages lovely and private - away from hustle and bustle of Raya Ubud so you get peace and quiet when you need it- but also close enough that it’s within easy walking distance to lots of great food options, coffee shops and market stalls. There is a great massage parlour across the road, and the mini market is also close for snack and drink top ups as required. The Bisma is a fantastic base if you have activities planned in Ubud and surrounds- (no need to waste time by travelling back to Legian or Seminyak at the end of the day) but it’s also a great stand alone destination just for the vibe and handy location. We were so impressed we already are looking to book our next trip in a few months!

Staying at Bisma Cottage certainly was one of the most enjoyable experience during our time in Bali. We took the family fun package and Kelly was very accomodating in adjustment to suit us as we had a toddler in tow. The kids had great fun and enjoyed the floating breakfast with a surprise guest joining in. The staff who took us to visit the farm, waterfall and ricefield is very pleasant and more importantly good with kids. Kudos to him! The location is good as well as we can walk to Ubud center. Surrounding the cottage was tons of good eateries and amentities which is very convenient for our family of four. If you want to immerse yourself in local living with outstanding hospitality, Bisma Cottage is highly recommended.

From the moment our driver Wayan picked us up from Denpasar airport and just like a Tetris master fitted all our bags in the car, we knew we were in safe hands and could begin to relax. An hour or so later we turned into Bisma Street and arrived at Bisma Cottages. I stayed in a Deluxe Cottage which had an extra room with couch, dining table and fridge - perfect for an extra guest or child, or for playing cards and chatting over a drink. Ideal for a long stay. Come morning, I discovered my shower had the most amazing view out over some rice paddies - what a unique way to freshen up. Cross the road to Lucky Family Cafe for breakfast, then follow the road around up Monkey Forest Road to get familiar with the local area. Bisma Street has some fantastic restaurants such as Chora for modern Mediterranean, and rooftop cocktails at Copper Kitchen. Massages and spa treatments at Putri Spa were a daily ritual for the girls and me. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, and super friendly. Gusti and Made were keen to have a chat and offer to help with luggage etc. The pool was a great way to cool down then relax and read a book. Ask the Aussie owner/manager for some recommendations for activities - including those not in the standard guidebooks. There is a 1km walk through the rice paddies (Juwuk Manis Rice Field Walk) that you can access via a laneway - if you didn't know it was there you would walk straight past. En route meet some locals selling coconuts, handicrafts, stop at a Warung for a drink, then sit at the meditation point and ponder life before returning back to the Prianka Ubud Art Market. Try your hand at making your own natural skincare products at Ubud Botany Interactive using local ingredients and essential oils. The staff will also let you know where the good laundry, money exchange, ATMs and dining are. If you want a special dinner, check out the Arcadia Restaurant down by the Tjampuhan Bridge - as good as any international restaurant I have been to.

Everything about bismar Cottages is five star. From Kelly the owner to the comfortable rooms, to the inviting porch, attentive staff, and safe fun Street. Kelly is always available to offer suggestions and advice she truly is the best . I felt like we have known her for a very long time and we just met she's just that type of person. You will not be disappointed I can't wait to go back. It is truly an amazing place with amazing people and unbelievable banana pancakes right across the street that are served with ice cream.

Bisma cottages was everything we hoped it would be. Exceptional value and close to main attractions with a seamless airport transfer that set us off on the right foot. The Balinese style room was very clean and comfortable with sunset views over a rice patty just outside. The pool was never crowded and sooo refreshing on those hot afternoons and staff were absolutely lovely! Ubud is a must with so much to offer, we’ll be back to explore more and will be staying at Bisma Cottages, no questions!

This is an amazing location and destination. Our fully furnished de-luxe cottage was tranquil and nurturing. The outdoor seating area - where you can enjoy the chirping birds and swimming pool area is comfortable and very inviting after a day of exploring in Ubud. There are many wonderful Spa and restaurants within walking distance from Bisma as well as shops and sightseeing spots to explore. The management and staff become like family and are great hosts with knowledge and guidance of the ara.
