Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Confession: I have been staying here regularly for 28 years! Beautiful spacious, comfortable accommodation in old style open bungalows. Its like a garden sanctuary. Stunning views. Gracious friendly staff and service, fabulous breakfasts, great pool, local walks, and close to Ubud. But mostly its the atmosphere of being held in a close and tangible sense of a Balinese way of being. Perfect!

We've just had four nights at this wonderful little place about 10 minutes drive south of Ubud. It's the third time I've stayed here and Wayan and his team will do everything they can to make your stay a happy one. It was cool while we were here with only one day warm enough for a swim in their pool but it will be very welcome in warm weather. We rented a motorbike to get us around Ubud, and it was good to be staying a little away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud centre, but still close enough to make it easy to get into town when needed. When it rained Wayan arranged a driver to get us in and out. Breakfast each morning served by the ever-cheerful Putu was simple but filling and sufficient to keep us going for most of the day. The villas are designed to fit in with their environment right on the edge of the rice fields, and they, and the compound generally, are kept immaculately clean. At around 350,000 rupiah a day including breakfast, this is excellent value. Pondok Saraswati accommodates several regular group bookings each year, so be sure to check well in advance if your holiday dates are flexible to make sure you can get in. Looking forward to our next visit later in the year.

What a wonderful gem of a little place Wayan and his family have created a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a break away It’s close enough to Ubud to travel in as you want and far enough away to not be disturb The main road is relatively busy and noisy but doesn’t really disturb The breakfast is wonderful and the special evening banquet cooked by Nayak is something to behold Can’t recommend highly enough

Pondok has a great atmosphere as it is away from the hassle of Ubud and staff are all charming Balinese. They have recently installed a pool and the gardens have been maintained well. Offerings are refreshed every morning and food is good value. The price is good and staff are more than willing to assist with any request.

Exceptional service - lovely traditional Balinese style villa - overlooking rice fields. Located well off the main road just out of Ubud, Pondok Saraswati provides a comfortable and affordable alternative to resort style accommodation. The pool area is very private and enticing. Breakfast is worth getting up for.

My girlfriend & I stayed here recently for two nights & were totally taken back by this place. The setting is amazing, each seperate villa overlooks beautiful rice paddies. It is peaceful, tranquil & relaxing. The staff are more than friendly & make you feel so at home. I've visited Bali many times but have never felt so at home & received great service like I did now from Wayan and his family. I recommend this business to anyone wanting to go to Ubud & stay. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely stunning bungalows / villas set in an amazingly beautiful, peaceful and harmonious garden. Highly recommended if you are anywhere near to Ubud. Very clean. Great breakfast too. Friendly and helpful staff. I stayed with my daughter, but it would be awesome place for group / yoga / artist retreat. Do it.
