Ubud heaven sayan.......experience the true intimacy of Balinese hospitality
Staff watched us carry our 30kg bags up about 50 stairs. Food was very ordinary. Was a nice villa but unfortunately not clean and soaps and drinks not replaced. Had to ask all the time. No safe either. I’m a regular to Bali and purchased this Travelzoo voucher. Not a bad location if you enjoy walking but not safe to walk into Ubud Centre. They have a free shuttle at 11 and 2 but when we went to use it they said that there was no car or driver available. They called us a car that we paid 100,000rp for. Very disappointing. Unfortunately definitely won’t be back 😞
Visited at Dec 2019, and have had a pleasant experience !! We had a nice ambiance of stay surrounded by Nature, refreshing air, outside city. Would recommend for a family. Private Pool is icing on the cake and we can cook if we wish all features available.
Ubud Heaven Sayan Villas was an excellent choice for us. We chose to stay here during the first part of our stay in Ubud. The villa itself was spacious, much bigger than what I imagined. I loved the pool and jungle view. I enjoyed that we had an outside kitchen, sitting area, and lounge area where I was able to sit outside, get some sun, and read or catch up on my phone without disturbing my partner if they were sleeping. The hotel and environment is in the jungle. The restaurant and reception area are all open space outside where you listen to all the jungle and outside noises (very relaxing and beautiful). We also saw wildlife but not so close to make me uncomfortable (I am a city person, I dont do little animals). The staff was friendly and courteous. They attempted to accommodate us with tours, getting us taxis, and helping us book massages.…
This place is good in an amazing tropical setting .lot of greeenry..villas are well maintained and swiming pool too is good One has to cross a bridge to reach the villa.. Only thing that can be improved is the spread /options of food in the restaurant...they hardly had options for vegetarian.. Also the breakfast what they give as complimentary was very limited...they did insist we pay for kids if they eat separately t for breakfast as it's not included..( kids less than 5 years). This place is quite far from the main town ..not many options to try outside the venue. Overall if you fine with less veg options to eat, once can try this.
Booked Ubud Sayan Heaven with a Travelzoo voucher which included a number of things including a 2 course meal each per stay, discounts on food and spa, one way transfer etc. 1. Access around this property is only possible via very steep steps - which is not mentioned on their website or when booking. Not helpful for someone with knee and back injuries like myself 2. First night the restaurant was closed due to the stove being “broken” - we were directed to the local Asian / Latin Fusion restaurant which was somewhat of a huge markup in standard (and price) compared to the food at the hotel 3. Day 2 the free “scheduled” shuttle at 11am dropped us in Ubud Central and refused to pick us back up at 2.30pm as was advertised as being scheduled. No prior warning and no advise was given as to how to get back to the hotel and how much we should pay in a taxi. Just a sorry you have to get out now 4. Day 2 evening we decided to take advantage of the included 2 course meal of our voucher - upon checkout we were charged for this meal and the receptionist refused to remove it from the bill. Upon challenging this once I returned home - the hotel stayed that it was a limited menu of Mie Goreng or Nasi Goreng only - so what? 1 for appetiser and the other for main meal? No clue and we nearly missed our flight due to the unsuccessful argument over what was written in black and white on my and the hotels copy of the voucher inclusions and no mention of these 2 meals by name 5. Day 3 we went for a walk along the back of the hotel where we found amazing little family run warungs with amazing, cheap and great tasting food - we had asked when we checked in if there were any places to eat in the area and we were told no just Sayan House (fusion) or the Four Seasons. This makes no sense to us why the hotel wouldn’t promote other small local businesses 6. During the checkout process I saw 2 rats run along the roof beam between the kitchen and the reception 7. The rooms are a bit run down - dirty mouldy shower, stained mosquito net and when the pool filters are turned off - it’s very obviously the pools are not maintained properly It is a very beautiful, secluded and quiet location - most of the staff made a good effort to provide service but simply arent trained very well (eg. Don’t know where to set down plates or cutlery on the table or even where to place glasses while serving). Their lack of training is evident in their ability to communicate with their customers to provide a basic level of professional service I would not recommend this hotel - which is a shame as it is in a very beautiful location for anyone who is just looking to get away from it all and spend a bit of time within another culture …
