After the first day the vote would have been by a single bullet, because after a journey of 20 hours, exhausted, we had the shower drain that did not work and the sheets washed, but rather stained, so much so that we had to bring in staff and managers.
On the second day the vote could be two bullets, because the treatments at the spa had been great and all the staff were very kind.
The third day three dots. The tour, organized through Kayon, was great and, even, being outside, in the various tourist sites, a little regretted the peace and cleanliness of the hotel.
However, I must say that the cleaning fees in Bali are always lower than those in Europe of hotels of the same level.
On the fourth day, four dots. In the meantime we had an excellent dinner, especially during the Balinese evening, with a typical tasting menu prepared very well and a dance show. During the second tour, in which Driver and Guide indulged us without problems, we also visited the Kayon Jungle Resort, sister of our hotel. And I can say that ours, the original one, is more beautiful, more characteristic, although less modern and you eat even better. The "Jungle" has a swimming pool with disco music...
In the following days the initial major problem of water invading the bathroom was almost forgotten and the vote rose to five.
Great availability of the Reception, with whom I communicated on WhatsApp, to fulfill any request. Breakfast waterfall view (the waterfall is illuminated in the morning). That beautiful pool that "takes you" into the forest, perhaps the most beautiful pool ever tried.
The short lessons in the Yoga Pavilion on how to scrub and Balinese clothes. Other themed dinners where I ate almost always typical and non-Western dishes. All the staff always hyper nice and who, often, addressed knowing your name. The guided walk in the rice fields next door. Afternoon tea with cake stand, which, if you ask, they will also give you for breakfast.
My Recommendation is to go through their site and mark all the daily activities and everything the Resort offers.
Turn to them for everything. Tour, tranfert, lavanderia.
When I booked, I enjoyed a very affordable genius rate on booking.com.
€ 1395 for seven nights in August in a river view room. Now it costs a lot, but much more.
All the other extras, including food and three daily tours, including a draining tour of Nusa Penida, will have cost just over €900.
I do not recommend the Nusa Penida tour. 10 hours of travel, which could be even more, to stay in front of 3-4 attractions for no more than half an hour in total.
Yeah.

Highly recommend particularly if your seeking a romantic getaway!
The resort is located within the mountains surrounded by the jungle, away from the bustling noise of Ubud. The scenery is breathtaking and so peaceful.
Upon arrival, the team welcomes you to their HOME with delicious welcoming drinks, easy check in and explains their facilities offerings which includes 7am Yoga, complimentary breakfast, 10 min complimentary massage and 1x complimentary professional photoshoot.
The room we stayed at had a beautiful view and all the amenities you will need!
The restaurant offered traditional Balinese and western food including freshly squeezed juice and house-made bread. We also booked for a candle-light 7 course dinner by the waterfalls which was decorated beautifully with so much details! It's a bit expensive which if your seeking a romantic experience, it's worth the price!
Finally, the service was spectacular! Let's just say when you leave, it feels like your leaving with a new family/friends. They're so warm, polite and always with a smile. My partner and I got engaged a few days before arrival and when we informed one of the team members, not only were they so excited and happy for us but word really got around the resort celebrating our new chapter with complimentary desserts!
The photographer on site was definitely the highlight! He was funny, professional and made the experience so easy and relaxed. (The poor guy had to climb so many stairs.)
The team really work hard to accommodate your needs (even offers 2x housekeeping service daily)
Despite the location being a bit further from central Ubud, they do offer free shuttle to town and return.
We can't wait to come back!
Special thank you to Dewa( our driver) and the rest of Kayon resort team!

The Kayon Resort is in Ubud, Bali and is part of the Kayon Resorts and hotels chain. They have a sister resort also in Ubud; Kayon Jungle Resort and a new resort opening next month (may 2023).

Communication whilst booking the resort was great and I was able to organise spa treatments and tours via email whilst still in the UK. There is also a WhatsApp number whilst you are in resort which is helpful.

Amenities: The Kayon resort is small with only 26 rooms, 1 restaurant, 1 pool, a yoga pavilion and a spa for treatments but the boutique nature means that you are treated as an individual not as another guest. I was always greeted by name and the staff couldn’t do enough. I had the “Ratih Kamajaya” 3 hour spa package which consisted of a massage, a scrub and a milk and honey flower bath. The therapist I had was great….3 hours of pure relaxation! There is also a jetty down the bottom of the hotel where you can see the river and the waterfall!

Food and drink: Breakfast and afternoon tea were included in the room price and was delicious with a-lot of local and western choices. The Kepitu restaurant was great with lots of choice of delicious food at a very reasonable price point.
The “taste of Indonesia” night was wonderful with lots of local food to enjoy along with Balinese dance performances.

Room: There are 3 room options at the Kayon and due to my very specific dates I was able to stay in the Valley Room (801) for the first night then seamlessly transfer to the River Edge Pool Villa (villa 2) for the following 4 nights. The bathrooms are the stand out areas for me with the whole accommodating furnished and decorated in traditional Balinese style. In my opinion they are looking a little tired in places so perhaps could do with an uplift soon to include some more modernisations. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hand soap, amenity kits and hairdryer are all available along with a laundry service. The mini bar is basic.

Trips and Tours: There is a free shuttle bus multiple times a day in to Ubud and a daily free shuttle bus to the sister resort Kayon Jungle. This is well worth a visit as the pool area and views are stunning.
I also organised a driver for 1 day through the hotel (approx £60) which was well worth doing as my driver (Wayan) was lovely and extremely knowledgeable. He also picked me up from the airport! We went to the monkey forest, rice terraces, temple, traditional Balinese house and a waterfall and Wayan was on hand with knowledge, towels, water and also carried my bag and took photos of me! A lovely guy!

All in all, a great stay … would recommend for couples and solo travellers.
Lots of steps so not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Summary: The best resort

It can be seen in the low-cost feeling of the Canyon Jungle Resort or the availability of the facilities of the Jungle Resort.
The Resort has a small swimming pool, but it is difficult to swim at all, and it seems possible to swim for a while when sunbathing or warm in the surroundings.
The tiny restaurant is in a quiet and quiet atmosphere. Good for breakfast watching the jungle and swimming pool.
There is also a yoga class at 7 a.m., but it is not used. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very close. The bath is also large so it is good to bathe in the jungle. The fruits in the room are changing daily, and the ants are a little rough. I think it's impossible to have some jungle-like worms.
The staff are very friendly and feel good to greet and help with every request.
The location of the Resort is a bit away from the city centre of Ubud, which is 20 minutes by taxi. The motorcycle is lengthy and has a heavy slope section and is not a Recommendation. The shuttle bus to and from the Resort from the city centre of Opu is scheduled, so it is quite convenient to use. The shuttle to Jungle Resort is available at 9:00 a.m. and returns at 3:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

The Pension offers a pleasant stay experience with a very pronounced rural atmosphere. The atmosphere created is soothing, allowing you to feel close to nature. Its location is strategic, with many merchants on either side of the road, offering a variety of local dishes and souvenirs, allowing you to sample local cuisine without having to go far.

The Inn is also close to various tourist attractions, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, offering a pleasant space to rest. In addition, the service of the Pension staff is very friendly and helpful, making your stay even more enjoyable.

Overall, this Pension is a perfect choice for those who want to enjoy a rural atmosphere while being close to the sights.

I hope this review is what you were looking for!

I recently stayed at The Kayon Resort in Ubud, Bali, and it was an exceptional experience. Nestled amidst lush greenery, the hotel offers a perfect blend of luxury and nature. The room was beautifully designed with traditional Balinese décor and modern amenities, offering a breathtaking view of the surrounding jungle and rice paddies. The private balcony was a tranquil spot to enjoy morning coffee while listening to the sounds of nature.

The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable. The daily breakfast was a highlight, with a wide variety of local and international dishes prepared with fresh, organic ingredients. The hotel's infinity pool overlooking the forest was a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring Ubud.

The location is ideal, just a short drive from Ubud’s main attractions like the Monkey Forest, Tegallalang Rice Terrace, and Ubud Palace, yet secluded enough to offer a peaceful retreat. Whether you’re looking to explore the vibrant culture of Ubud or simply relax in a serene environment, The Kayon Resort is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Bali.

The best hotel experience I've ever had. The resort itself and facilities, restaurant etc are fantastic. The staff are the most amazing, friendly and accommodating I've ever encountered, from the moment you pull into the hotel into the courtyard on arrival. The service they provided was exemplary. The food was fantastic, breakfast is made to order and we had daily complimentary afternoon tea which was gorgeous. Also daily complimentary yoga and a short walking tour through rice fields. The River Suite room was amazing (we got a free upgrade to this room when we got there), room is huge and the nicest bathroom I've ever seen! The bath easily fits two people and Bath salts and bubble bath are provided and topped up daily if used, bliss! There was not one thing I could fault. It is about 20-25 mins outside of Ubud centre (that's with a little bit of traffic), but a shuttle bus runs throughout the day from the hotel and back, and it is very cheap to use local transport apps for transportation. Truly a five star experience, overall could not recommend this resort enough, will most definitely stay again when I return to Ubud.

I am writing this post a little late but appreciating the fact of staying in this one of its kind resort to celebrate my wife's birthday on 3rd August 20 23 where me and my wife stayed there from 31st July to 4th August 20 23. It was one of the best resorts one could have asked for with a beautiful view with great service. The area surrounded by the resort was mesmerizing, and we were in for a great hospitality by everyone. Be it open swimming pool, bali exquisite dance shows during dinner time, birthday celebrations decor and the food of course with the best service by Kayon people. It was all worth spending, and celebrating her birthday at one side of the corner in the resort with so beautiful decoration along with their in-built water fall was like an icing on the cake. Mr. Pande helped me in every way he could to set up the room beautifully at night along with all the decorations done by the team, which was so elegantly decorated that would blow your mind. Last but not the least, the chefs took care of all the special food preparations as i wanted it to be on the bday so a special gratitute to all those people begind the scene for making such delicious dinner on that night. Overall, it was a much appreciated stay. Thank you so much everyone for the way you treated us.

I was here for a few days and had a wonderful experience. The slightly out of the way resort enjoys a magical location in the forest which makes it perfect for those looking for an authentic holiday in Ubud. The resort is small but well-kept and the service is personalized precisely for its size. Breakfast and à la carte restaurant always served. We had a suite on the river in the forest and from our room we could see the waterfalls and the monkeys. A rare pearl of beauty and authenticity. Highly recommended

Hi....these 2 resorts are owned by different people but still have a close working relationship. As the previous individual indicated, it is best to ask the Kayon folks directly.

There is a shuttle between the two Kayon resorts. Most probably you would be able to take baggage also. Your other queries would best be answered by the resort itself depending on how late you would like to check out.
