Could not get over how beautiful the villas are. There for our honeymoon. It was quiet location not far from town. To get into the party area and restaurants you will need to take a scooter but it’s $1.40 USD into town. They also have shuttles but we never used it as we usually came back later in the evening. It is a cheap scooter to Monkey Forest which was a highlight of our travels. Breakfast was delicious. Would recommend for those who want a bit of quiet and luxury during their time in Ubud.

Very nice hotel with typical Balinese architecture.
Room, pool and services are very good.
The staff is very friendly.
We enjoyed a Balinese massage offered by the hotel which was really good.
About 10 minutes walk from the city center, the rooms are quiet.
The hotel driver is very friendly, attentive and in exchange. If you need a driver, I recommend taking the one from the hotel. He accompanied us in several places and was very considerate with us.

So, I came here for four nights and, well, “hotel” might not be the right term. “Museum” describes it better – only, you get breakfast here too! My first room was a small, well-visible ground floor room where the air conditioning seemed to be more of a decorative piece. A complete no-go in this heat. After a quick complaint, I got an upgrade to the so-called “Rapunzel Room” on the second floor, which was only accessible by two steep, narrow staircases.

As for the bathroom situation: the bathroom wasn’t in the room but outside, kind of like an annex. Showering at night felt like an insect party, as a little skylight drew in every flying creature around. On top of that, the drains were so slow that I could almost use it as a footbath. I eventually made peace with my ant roommates, but leaving anything in the bathroom was not an option. So, every time, I’d carry all my stuff back to the room – an excellent fitness program!

The Wi-Fi? Okay during the day, but come evening, when everyone was in their rooms, it practically disappeared. Stains and strange hairs on the heavy bed cover made my nights even more thrilling. All in all, I was beyond relieved to move to a new hotel on checkout day – with a normal bathroom in the room!

On the bright side, I have to say the view from the breakfast area was pretty fantastic, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. If I’ve learned one thing, it’s that a “Museum Hotel” is certainly unique, but next time, I think I’ll opt for a bit more comfort!

Dear Misterunique, Thank you so much for your feedback. Firstly we are apologize with all the issue during your stay here and really sorry to hear it. Let us explain you something regarding the issue: 1. We are traditional bed & breakfast in Ubud which offer a nice garden and balinese ambience. You called us "Museum" is OK, becuase we try to keep our place traditional and unique from other luxury hotel in Ubud. Room decorated old traditional but we keep maintenance and clean. 2. Breakfast served alacarte 3. Wifi is optional because our bed and breakfast is place to leisure not for business, if you find place for business with high speed wifi, we not recommend you to stay here. That is all or explanantion, once again really sorry for all issue is not match with all your expectation. We are small bed&breakfast with balinese run family so we still learning and learning to served our guest best ever. Best regards, Ketut's Place B&B Ubud

Pros:
Place is very calm and quiet
Great hospitality by staff
Clean environment
Clean swimming pool

Cons:
[IMP] Road is under construction so either you need to walk for 200m or you need to take diversion of around 7 KM.
No additional benefits / rebate for longer stay.
Additional Services are costly compared to other nearby hotel
Breakfast is limited and less options for vegetarians
Lots of insects & their sound outside villas you need to keep the room closed always.
No fans - 1 AC for entire room
Very dark in night inside or outside hotel premises

Dear connect2chetan, Thank you to share your feedback here and we would like to answer it. 1. Road under contrustion is not our false, this is public issue and we already told you about this before you arrive. 2. You stay only 3 night asking for benefit? Are you kidding? Come on Mister, we are only bed & breakfast and our room price is lower compare than big hotel. Next time we recommend you to stay on the big hotel to asking benefit of course you pay more for stay. 3. Additional services is not a big issue. If you find cheaper please join with them is not pressure from us. We work with quality of course the price is different. 4. Varian breakfast is available and everyday you can choose different. 5. Insect is normal in tropical area, but we are sure no insect in the room 6. AC is strong and keep room cold, so confused you asking another fan. 7. In the late night we keep light off for better sleep. That is our response. Thank you Best regards, Ketut's Place B&B Ubud

Our stay at this Inn in Ubud was Bof 5/10
Pros:
- a swimming pool (which is only good by its presence to cool off because not terrible and enough mold around)
- Lots of vegetation
- Breakfast (depending on which one you have)

Cons:
- hygiene of the room (big negative); mould in the shower, shower head working half, toilet bowl dirty, sink clogged half making impossible a normal evacuation, stain on the bedding, stain on the mosquito net, dust everywhere on objects even after daily passage of the surface technician...
- Wi-Fi (second big negative); there are several relay points in the establishment and none really works as it should. It keeps jumping and from 22:00, it is minimum union...
- All juices are cut with water
– If you are several traveling as was our case, when you order food... be patient and know that the whole order will never arrive at the same time, there will always be one person who will eat cold, made waiting.
Far too many steps to climb or descend to the rooms
- safes do not work in any room

In summary: 5/10 to review (don't always trust the photos presented)

Spent the first week in Ubud (a bood’) at Ketut’s Place. What an oasis! The street is a bit busy but a few steps into the compound, the sounds abate and all you hear are the birds, rustling in the trees and fountains in the pool.
Room was great with a queen and twin bed, sitting area and bath with shower. Plenty of storage.
The included breakfast was wonderful as were all the other meals.
The best part? The people! Every request was met with a “yes”. Ketut introduced himself and said hello.
They offer a variety of massages conveniently located on site. Whilst there is upstairs eating above the kitchen, dining at the poolside area was my favorite and was perfect for playing cards and chatting with other guests.
Definitely recommend Ketut’s!

we had the best 3D2N stay at Ketut’s place. It’s very homey and great value for your money. It was there for 40 years so you can feel the authenticity of the place. I can see kardashian waving. 🤭

The staff are so nice giving us a fruit basket during our tour. They serve free light breakfast with coffee and juice.

Had a pleasure to eat dinner and oh boy it was so nice! hope I get the chance to taste more of their food. bravo! very balinese and organic!

It’s 20min walk to ubud street market. It’s fine to walk past souvenir stalls and it’s safe at night.

Don’t miss their massage on their spa! for only IDR165,000, you’ll sleep like a baby!

They regularly clean the terrace floors of the villa.

Maybe just the cons is the bathroom as it needs more cleaning especially the tiles.

Don’t forget mosquito repellant too as Bali has a lot of mosquitoes 🤭

I also suggest to not bring in very big luggages as there are lot of stairs going to the villa, the entrance itself is stairs.

The staff are very honest. My friend forget her phone at the pool and she still got it after a day.

Thanks Ketut, Son and also staff.

Ketut’s Place is a hidden gem. Behind small doors you find yourself in an authentic, beautiful place to stay with a wonderful garden. The staff of Ketut are all very friendly and welcoming. And lead you to your uniquely decorated room. With wooden doors and a nice bed. There is a mosquito net and airco. Each room has a balcony. Ours even had a terrace overlooking the garden and swimming pool. The breakfast was delicious with a big plate of fruit and several options, like pancakes. Ketut’s place is highly recommended by us!
