My husband and I enjoyed our week long stay at this property. We had a duplex villa by the pool with the upstairs balcony overlooking the jungle and the mountains beyond. There was a little kitchenette for tea and coffee but not much else. The bedroom upstairs had an AC but the living room downstairs had a ceiling fan so we spent much of our time upstairs! The villa was spacious and clean and well looked after and there was daily housekeeping service. The room had a fridge and toiletries and even a sewing kit was provided.
Samhita Garden provides a cooked ala carte breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit and pastries. There are many cafes right outside the gate for other meals. We also found a reasonable laundry next door that did a same day service. There are also money changers and a mini mart right outside.
The staff were cheerful and courteous and the hotel arranged our airport pick up.
We recommend this hotel for a great stay at Ubud.
The location itself cannot get any better as there’s a 24/7 mart right across and the main market is at a comfortable walking distance.
Added advice: there's a tour/travel agency across the street from Samhita Garden. Avoid them. We made bookings to Gili Meno and this agency was too disorganised. They kept changing times and schedules. There's a TripAdvisor-suppported agency a few doors down. They appear more professional.
Overall, Samhita Garden is a wonderful place.
The property is lined with several two-story, leaflet-style buildings with rooms above and below. The room is large and clean with a terrace. The back of the property is a forest, and you can hear various birds singing in the morning. There is also a swimming pool near the entrance to the site.
There are many restaurants in the area, which are open late at night. Conveniently located in front of the hotel is a 24-hour convenience store. If you are traveling by taxi, they will call you at the front desk.
There are no slippers in the room, so you may want to bring your own if necessary.
Very happy with everything except...The music and noise from a nearby live band pub opposite Sumhata Garden is no good. It starts from 8.30pm to 11pm everynight. So expect to sleep after 11pm. Rest of time is wonderful - you heard only nature - running water (from pool), birds singing and insects calling.
Breakfast is great and filling but.. better if more varieties. Great gesture from a lady staff whom prepared us 2 big boxes of takeaway breakfast as we departed for the airport at 0630am on last day.
Samhita Garden is a gem for us (minus the pub's music) The indoor restaurant only serve breakfast as there are trully many restaurants just next door for lunch and dinner (walking), at least 8 as last counted.(Japanese, Italian, Indonesia, western...)
Book this place especially when there are offer prices. Definaly worth it. We will be back for our next antiques buying and meeting local artists trips. Hope to secure good prices again for longer stays.
The place and location on arrival was perfect.! Except they couldn’t find my booking. and didn’t record it. Ishowed them the emails but still no apologies that they mislaid it. Well the ground floor rooms around the pool were not available so was offered 2 rooms one upstairs at the start of resort and one at the end of resort as we had booked 2 rooms. All of which had many stairs, I had just got out of plaster with a fractured ankle so didn’t want many sets of stairs.
So what can you do, we had a room. We were told to go away for lunch and by the time we got back the rooms would be ready. One and half hours later we return expecting to go to our rooms by this time it’s 3.30pm. Still the rooms are not ready we were told another hour!!!!!! You are kidding me they stuffed our booking up, we are not getting the rooms I originally booked and now this stuff up.
We picked up our bags and found somewhere else to stay. Thanks but no thanks!!!,,
Unfortunately this was not the case. The room we were given had an air conditioner that did not work and when I asked about it on the first day ,a tissue was stuck it it to keep the Louvres from closing. This did not help the problem.
The pool was not sparkling like the last time we stayed but a cloudy green color with some type of worm living in it.
The breakfast was still delicious and the staff were friendly.
Breakfast is OK but basic which is fine. The cleanliness was good with bottled water provided each day. Pool could have been cleaner with algae growing in the deeper end. I think the live music is not going to be good long term for all the places around the bar, including Samhita. A real shame as it has everything that you need nearby. Thanks again but we will be giving it a lot of thought before we return.
"Traffic to and around Ubud is very busy. There is no coffee sachet or milk in the rooms only tea. TV station is terrible."Read full review
"Loud music from pub opposite entrance, farthest in suites might be better. But main pool is near entrance"Read full review
