Samhita Garden, set in a pretty landscaped green garden has an envious location. A very short walk away from the shops and cafes of Ubud yet away from all the noise and bustle.
My husband and I enjoyed our week long stay at this property. We had a duplex villa by the pool with the upstairs balcony overlooking the jungle and the mountains beyond. There was a little kitchenette for tea and coffee but not much else. The bedroom upstairs had an AC but the living room downstairs had a ceiling fan so we spent much of our time upstairs! The villa was spacious and clean and well looked after and there was daily housekeeping service. The room had a fridge and toiletries and even a sewing kit was provided.
Samhita Garden provides a cooked ala carte breakfast with eggs, bacon, fruit and pastries. There are many cafes right outside the gate for other meals. We also found a reasonable laundry next door that did a same day service. There are also money changers and a mini mart right outside.
The staff were cheerful and courteous and the hotel arranged our airport pick up.
We recommend this hotel for a great stay at Ubud.

We checked into this hotel after looking at the price and the facilities it had. The toilets were super clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the bed was very comfortable. The only down side for someone who sleeps early is that on weekends there is a bar across the street where a live music performance goes on till 11 pm.
The location itself cannot get any better as there’s a 24/7 mart right across and the main market is at a comfortable walking distance.

The hotel grounds are beautifully plush with floral and the spacious rooms have comfortable furniture with a bed that made us sleep like babies. Staff is wonderfully friendly and responsible. Breakfast, for people like me who like to eat, can be a little sparse; but my healthy-eating vegan wife would disagree with me. The place is ideally located so you can walk to bars and restaurants and the nighttime noise won't bother you.

Added advice: there's a tour/travel agency across the street from Samhita Garden. Avoid them. We made bookings to Gili Meno and this agency was too disorganised. They kept changing times and schedules. There's a TripAdvisor-suppported agency a few doors down. They appear more professional.

Overall, Samhita Garden is a wonderful place.

It is a 3-star hotel that is a 10-minute walk to the Royal Palace. The response from the staff has been fantastic. For breakfast, the staff asks for several kinds of fruit juices, fruit platters and various egg dishes each time, so you can order whatever you like. Bread, yogurt and cheese are buffet style. Enough.
The property is lined with several two-story, leaflet-style buildings with rooms above and below. The room is large and clean with a terrace. The back of the property is a forest, and you can hear various birds singing in the morning. There is also a swimming pool near the entrance to the site.
There are many restaurants in the area, which are open late at night. Conveniently located in front of the hotel is a 24-hour convenience store. If you are traveling by taxi, they will call you at the front desk.
There are no slippers in the room, so you may want to bring your own if necessary.

Our 1st stay in Ubud for 7 nights and we love the place! Great location, quiet envoirement (but..) and wonderful staff! The entire place is huge. All units are individual block - single and double stories. Only 2 Villas. We were staying in a villa with private pool. Pool was cleaned and bigger than photo shown. Entire villa was bigger than expectation.

Very happy with everything except...The music and noise from a nearby live band pub opposite Sumhata Garden is no good. It starts from 8.30pm to 11pm everynight. So expect to sleep after 11pm. Rest of time is wonderful - you heard only nature - running water (from pool), birds singing and insects calling.

Breakfast is great and filling but.. better if more varieties. Great gesture from a lady staff whom prepared us 2 big boxes of takeaway breakfast as we departed for the airport at 0630am on last day.

Samhita Garden is a gem for us (minus the pub's music) The indoor restaurant only serve breakfast as there are trully many restaurants just next door for lunch and dinner (walking), at least 8 as last counted.(Japanese, Italian, Indonesia, western...)

Book this place especially when there are offer prices. Definaly worth it. We will be back for our next antiques buying and meeting local artists trips. Hope to secure good prices again for longer stays.

Arrived at Samhita Garden full of hope and so looking forward to our stay. That was shattered. I booked directly with Samhita Garden through a few emails with it alll confirmed by Wayan.

The place and location on arrival was perfect.! Except they couldn’t find my booking. and didn’t record it. Ishowed them the emails but still no apologies that they mislaid it. Well the ground floor rooms around the pool were not available so was offered 2 rooms one upstairs at the start of resort and one at the end of resort as we had booked 2 rooms. All of which had many stairs, I had just got out of plaster with a fractured ankle so didn’t want many sets of stairs.

So what can you do, we had a room. We were told to go away for lunch and by the time we got back the rooms would be ready. One and half hours later we return expecting to go to our rooms by this time it’s 3.30pm. Still the rooms are not ready we were told another hour!!!!!! You are kidding me they stuffed our booking up, we are not getting the rooms I originally booked and now this stuff up.

We picked up our bags and found somewhere else to stay. Thanks but no thanks!!!,,

Had stayed at the Samhita earlier in the year in a pool Villa, when I chose the same room this time I expected the same beautiful experience.
Unfortunately this was not the case. The room we were given had an air conditioner that did not work and when I asked about it on the first day ,a tissue was stuck it it to keep the Louvres from closing. This did not help the problem.
The pool was not sparkling like the last time we stayed but a cloudy green color with some type of worm living in it.
The breakfast was still delicious and the staff were friendly.

Samhita Gardens is located in a great central location in Ubud, good walking distance to everything. It is a nice quiet place, with spacious bedrooms and great big bed. As seen on other reviews across the road was live music till 11pm which was quite loud, but it was good music. The breakfast was fantastic, great selection and super friendly staff.

Family holiday. Brilliant location in quiet side street with lots of good restaurants and amenities on the street. Very accommodating hosts, lovely rooms overlooking the beautiful gardens. Breakfast was a highlight with lots of fresh fruit, eggs, croissants etc. don’t think twice, great place to stay.

stayed at Samhita September 2023 for 5 nights. had a lovely two floor unit near the pool. By day this is a wonderful peaceful place to stay. Great staff and fabulous gardens. By night when the music starts in the bar opposite its another story. To us, it is exactly what Ubud does not need in that location. Sort of lowers the whole experience and in our opinion, should never have been allowed to happen where it is. The location of Samhita is great, plenty of places to eat/drink and a good mini mart opposite for drinks and snacks. If we ever came back to Ubud, which this time we found quite different from years previous, we would definately book a room at the rear of the property. Even then the music is there but not as loud as at the front of the place.
Breakfast is OK but basic which is fine. The cleanliness was good with bottled water provided each day. Pool could have been cleaner with algae growing in the deeper end. I think the live music is not going to be good long term for all the places around the bar, including Samhita. A real shame as it has everything that you need nearby. Thanks again but we will be giving it a lot of thought before we return.

Hi. There are sidewalks on the roads but you must nevertheless be careful of traffic. I did not visit the monkey foreet and spas when I stayed at the hotel. I know there are many spas but can't be sure that they are in walking distance. The hotel is child friendly and has a swimming pool. They do not however have a specific children's play area.
