Villa - #32. Stayed on Feb 16-19, 2023. Newly built pool villa, top level (level 4) villa with Valley of the King view and the nice blue sky. Magnificent view in the early morning with fog covering some parts of the luscious forest in the valley. The villa is extremely spacious, high bamboo ceiling in traditional Balinese Architec mixed with beautiful marble flooring and the bathroom area. It is well furnished and had all the essential amenities. The complimentary cassava chips was very tasty. Bed was firm and comfortable. Blue tooth speaker was strong and powerful. We requested to visit the Elephant villa and the Viceroy 2-room villa which were located at the bottom level. The view is from the bottom of the valley, which gave a more immersive feeling of being in the valley of a tropical forest. We enjoyed our top level villa with the infinity pool and its top of the valley view. Besides, it is really close to the gym and Cascade restaurant.
Private pool - well heated! Just notify reception to heat your pool. Extremely private. The infinity pool blends beautifully into the luscious green forest across the valley. My first morning experience in the heated pool looking across the valley literally felt like “paradise” on earth.
Cascade restaurant- breakfast was included in our package. It has a great menu of unlimited choices. Really enjoyed the salad with olive oil and vinaigrette dressing. The ingredients were refreshing and tasty. A variety of egg dishes to choose from were very delicious. Local dishes like Soto Ayam and Mie Goreng was delightful.
Aperitif - Fine dining. The decoration is fabulous. Fine dinning - very creative and delicious. Service was impeccable. Table side cocktail mixing.
New Exercise room. We used it daily, most of the time we had it all to ourselves. Same powerful Bluetooth speaker that you can pair with your phone and play your own music. I used the PT ball and Elliptical machine which faces the beautiful valley. New squash court. Couldn’t find any racquets. I didn’t ask as I didn’t have anyone to play with.
Activities. Free shuttle to Ubud. Traffic is always jammed. Get an impression of the local scene, including businesses and restaurants. Activities. We took a Tegalalang terrace rice field trekking trip which was very scenic and a good chance to exercise by hiking around the cascading paddy fields. Support the farmers by going on a swing ride for 5 minutes. Farmers get paid the equivalent of growing 10 kg of rice. You see swings everywhere around the paddy fields.
Service. Every employee we met were very friendly and caring. They often go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Extremely polite. Many of them have worked for Viceroy for many years which usually reflects on how well they are treated by the management and owner.
Spa. Our package came with two free 60 minutes Balinese massage. There are many essential oil to choose from. I picked the Frangipani oil, which is the same as the welcoming flowers we received on arrival. Ashi, my therapist used long strokes and her strong elbow to relax all my muscles. It was truly amazing that I went for a second session in the villa. My wife enjoyed the Balinese facial.
I would definitely consider visiting Viceroy again especially with the promise of discount for returning customers.

Where to start! Aside from the wonderful communication with the reservations team when I made my booking, my first impression when I was welcomed by lovely Jero with a nice and refreshing cocktail overlooking the hill/jungle, was that I was absolutely immersed in a paradise movie. The smell, exotic birds and perfect location made it so dreamy. Our villa with a private pool accessible from our doorstep and beautiful surroundings, just complement the genuine and empathetic hospitality from the staff. Their dedication, knowledge and care made it all perfect. Me and my partner had an in-room massage that was so good, with the knowledgeable therapists taking the time to explain clearly the different essential oils and methods we could use. But I'd say the 'cherry on the cake' is the Aperitif restaurant which just has an impeccable fine dining experience. The care and detail put into our evening blew us away. Just when we thought we were ending our meal, we were invited to enjoy petit fours in the bar, served by our selection from their exquisite sweet trolley. We got chatting to a couple at the bar who came from the other side of Bali to experience a meal there - and I can completely understand why they did that! The whole week was literally magical! I dream of returning.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay with our family at Viceroy Villas where we were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The staff were really friendly, attentive and courteous without exception. We built up a great rapport with the drivers and Cascades restaurant staff who were particularly lovely and made a fuss of our two little grandchildren. Room service and cleaners were similarly very polite, the cleaners couldn’t have been more mindful of the babies if they were sleeping and tried to keep any disturbance minimal. Staff on the reception desk were really helpful when we left a wallet in a bar in Ubud (successfully retrieved the following day) and the infinity poolside staff were great. We loved the cycle ride to the paddy fields, temple tour and on-site massage which were arranged for us, and the food at Cascades (Balinese eggs Benedict is a must) was superb, as was the taster menu at Aperitif. The villas themselves were very comfortable and clean, the gardens well kept, and we loved having our own outdoor area with a pool. I highly recommend Viceroy Villas for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting. The staff all really promote their country and gentle culture and show a pride in their work. Thank you so much to Patrick and the team for making this a holiday to remember.

Viceroy Bali is absolutely stunning!! The resort is a secluded paradise, yet it's only 5 minutes away from all of the major Ubud attractions via the resort's complimentary shuttle.
Upon arrival at Viceroy's beautiful open lobby, you are presented with a warm towel and a welcome drink. From that point forward, you are treated like a celebrity!
I travel internationally for a living and stay in 25-30 luxury hotels/year... I don't think I've ever been to a hotel where the entire staff knew my name before I even introduced myself! This is the kind of service you can expect at Viceroy Bali!
We stayed in their Deluxe Terrance Villa which was an absolute dream! Imagine waking up every morning, tossing on a robe and slippers, and sipping a coffee by your private infinity pool while you watch the fog rise from the jungle. No words.
While at the resort we also tried their luxury restaurant (Aperitif) which was an experience in itself! We had an unbelievable 8-course meal with wine pairings and, just when we thought it was over, they took us to a swanky bar for dessert, after-dinner drinks, and a game of pool.
Seriously, I can't say enough wonderful things about Viceroy Bali! They made my bucket list dream come true!

Great location for going to Ubud centre by a complimentary 'shuttle' service which was basically a free taxi in a great car whenever you wanted! We had a great room with a beautiful terrace overlooking endless greenery with a heated private pool. We ate at cascades for breakfast which had a delicious a la cart menu and aperitif for dinner/drinks which were great - well worth the money. We had booked direct so had some extras included like a spa each, a drink at aperitif etc. They use a paper voucher system with this which makes it feel a bit budget- would recommend removing the voucher aspect as you sign for bills anyway. Lots of great activities- we booked the rice terrace walk via the hotel which was brilliant ( only one other couple on the entire walk!), tea and coffee tasting, cooking class ( which the hotel booked for us but was through an external company so note you have to pay them direct). Overall, would recommend staying here.

We had a pool villa suite with stunning views across the valley.
The suite was large and comfortable. Strolling outside to the terrace and jumping into the private pool at any hour of the night made the pool well worthwhile.
The strong shower and large bathtub was so nice to relax after a day of lounging at the private Bale, or Balinese day bed.
I cannot think of anything else that I would have asked for in the suite. One of my all time favorite rooms.
The resort itself was outstanding as well. Delicious and varied breakfast. The Cascades restaurant on site served scrumptious dishes.
We had a couples massage at the spa. Wonderful spa.
The staff went out of their way to satisfy our every need. Service could not have been better.
I look forward to staying again at Viceroy in the future.

We have been to many super luxury resorts around the world from Huaven Fushi Maldives to Conrad Ko Samui to Kempinski seycheles a d Raffles Dubai but viceroy has out done them all in service and amenities. The things i loved about VU 1. water filter all through the resort . From brushing your teach to swimming and showering this resort has filteration system that covers it all. 2. Staff are amazing and genuinely want you to relax and enjoy your time. 3. Heated pools on demand at every pool villa.
4. Breakfast a combination of a la carte and buffet that works like magic for particular preferences.
5. Ice refilled in room everyday without asking
6. Free shuttle into ubud anytime you want not on schedule
7. According to my husband it is soooo peaceful except for one person.
I recommend travellers to try this amazing resort if they plan a relaxing vacation anywhere in the world

We arrived in Bali for our stay at Viceroy in October for our honeymoon,from the moment we arrived we were blown away the room was the best we have ever stayed in,super clean with our own private heated pool and so private.
The staff can’t do enough for you I have never been anywhere where we have felt so special and looked after! The food well wow what can I say absolutely outstanding,we dined at the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast/lunch and dinner which was outstanding and presented so well.
Aperitif is a stunning restaurant we only dined there once as it was a 7 course tasting menu and once was enough for us but the food was outstanding again with the staff…the bar next door is a speak easy (American vibe) we loved it!! The cocktails are in incredible like nothing I’ve had before,it’s a must to try when staying at viceroy.
I loved how you were made to feel so special,nothing is too much for the staff at viceroy and it definitely added to our stay when you have friendly staff who can’t do enough for you 😊
I would highly recommend this hotel it’s perfect for a relaxing break away,we loved the privacy and loved having our own pool…you have two gorgeous sun loungers and a gorgeous little hut to relax in! We loved waking up the noise of the jungle,what an experience!!!!!
Please stay at this hotel if your looking to stay in Ubud,there is also a shuttle bus you can get from the hotel that takes you into Ubud town if you fancy doing that whilst staying here.

Hard to put into words how brilliant our stay was as it just doesn't do it justice!
One thing you'll notice very quickly is that the Viceroy has a feel of inclusivity which is driven home by the staff. You are made to feel more than welcome throughout the entirety of your stay.
After a long journey from the UK, we were looked after from min 1. From moving heavy luggage to buggy pick ups from our rooms, or even just a friendly chat, nothing was too much for the staff to deal with. Literally the best hospitality I have ever experienced.
The location itself is beautiful, with the site sitting on the edge of a ridge which overlooks a small forest, presenting q view you really won't get sick of. You're also only a 5/10 min drive from Ubud (Hotel provides shuttle drop offs/pick ups) or a half hour walk for those that fancy a wander.
The rooms are spacious and immaculately kept. Air con is provided to help keep your room fresh. You also can't go wrong with having a private pool to step into which is the perfect remedy to taking the edge off a hot day.
The food was very good all round with both the Cascades and Aperitif restaurants offering a high-class dining experience. FYI, the balinease eggs benedict and French toast combo at breakfast is a winner!
There's plenty to do in the local area - you can hop on a scooter and do your own exploring or alternatively you can take the leg work out of your planning and book a wide range of tours which are easily accessible, offering you a range of activities. In addition to this, the hotel also offer their own activities. A morning bike ride to the local paddy fields is my must-do recommendation.
There isn't a lot more I can add that can do this place justice, you really have to come here and experience it. The only other thing I would say is that a stay here is suitable for families, couples or groups of friends looking for a true Bali getaway.

Hello, whilst it is possible to walk the approximately 2km into Ubud centre, it is not a particularly pleasant walk next to the busy road. The footpaths however are newly built. We provide a complimentary car shuttle for in-house guests to town, as well as have motorbikes and e-bikes for guests.
so yes. there is one at 5 minutes of walk. there is also a laundary. but without enterin the Monkey Forest Road, at the beginning o fthe market (Where the Hotel drops you), there are plenty. but it takes about 15 minutes to reach by car
