I stayed in this wonderful place as it was still before Bali opened up to Indonesian tourists. In the beginning I was a bit scared as I was all alone in the resort except the owner and a security guard. But I enjoyed my privacy especially since I had to work with my computer. Apparently the noisy CP lounge was not open but also my favourite places not yet open. Grab food delivered my food safely from the nearby restaurants and they offered discounts. My room was the one I already had last time, a deluxe room with view on the pool and rice fields. Rain power shower and both hand-held shower head, bath tub with another shower head and handheld shower. This time I was alone and only got one automatic umbrella. The wifi was pretty good although they told me it was slow. TV did not have as many stations but enough nice things to watch, incl some English-speaking ones. This time I didn't order breakfast but there were coffee and teamaking facilities in the room as well as bottled water. The staff was not onsite but I could contact them at any time in case I needed help. A calm and serene oasis with artistic gardens and fish ponds and typical Balinese worship places. The resort is right in the city and near many shops, restaurants and cafes who started to assume their business hours. The housekeeping staff came as usual to distribute offering baskets and maintain the garden. The gardener even put roses every day on my terrace table. I mostly ate traditional breakfast like lak lak or rice I bought at the market. Ayu Rita, the guest relations manager made her homemade risoles and sold it for a reasonable price. This hotel is located in walking distance to restaurants, market, palace, rice fields, Campuhan ridge and Campuhan steps. I will definitely come back again.

Arrived to friendly reception staff, shown to room an hour before the 2pm checkin. I had the standard room. It was very basic, dated and dark. No safe, door and wooden windows difficult to open/close. The bathroom was in dire need of an overhaul. Both room and bathroom were a good size, not too small. I adjusted to the room after an hour and then started to really like it, nothing fancy but very traditional. Unfortunately there were some noisy drainage works going on outside my room so the next day I asked to be moved to another room. Reception and manager were excellent, moving me to another room without argument. This was at the the front of the building, a huge room and a little more modern. A superior room and no extra charge. I was a little worried as many reviews talk about these rooms and the noise of the live music but honestly it was very hard to hear any music and it was generally finished by midnight. The 2 pools are great, especially the one at the rear of the resort. The breakfast selection isn’t large but the service and food is fantastic. Fresh juice to order, relaxing area, delicious food, especially the pancakes. If you need laundry, don’t bother searching other laundries, use theirs as its cheap and reliable. The resort is in the best location, so close to everything. I have been staying in Ubud for 10 years and really annoyed at myself that it has taking me this long to find Cendana. This is the ONLY place to stay in Ubud. Special mention to the hotel staff, they are very friendly and helpful.

This is one of the best places in Ubud that I stayed at. The hotel consists of many traditional bungalows with 4 guest rooms each. There are two impressive pools and every bungalow is nestled in a lovely, well-maintained garden with different types of local flowers. Apart from the many Balinese worship area, there are fish ponds and water fountains in front of nearly every room. I was given a room in front of the infinity pool where I could hear water fountains coming out from Balinese statues into the pool, hear birds chirping and look at the rather dried rice fields. This room was pretty far from the next door CP-lounge which has loud music until past midnight. The rooms are spacious, well equipped with a huge bath tub, shower area with a huge rain shower and a second smaller hand-held shower. The airconditioner was good, the TV several English-speaking channels incl HBO movies. There are two huge automatic umbrellas in the room, so you don't have to bother to go to the reception. You may hear some noise from your neighbours, especially when their manners are not so nice. Overall, it was a small village and quiet oasis in the middle of the hustling city, the market and palace very near, Kajeng and Campuhan not far either. The staff was so friendly and smiling. They kept so much composure during the corona virus pandemic and the property remained well-groomed as though nothing happened. Only a girl at the reception and a middle-aged lady in the restaurant need more training in hospitality. The breakfast buffet was excellent and every morning they had a surprise. When the hotel has less than 50% occupancy, they switch to a la carte. A bit less variety but you can request something different and the pancakes are fresher than the buffet. Overall, I would recommend the hotel restaurant especially during Nyepi or lockdown period. I would like to come back at any time.

The rooms are nice, the pool is right in front, the front is near, and it's easy to get to town. , we had various arrangements of spa time and helped. (However, it sells variously) The breakfast was a la carte, but the menu was all delicious. I was sorry that the view was not good just after harvesting the rice. This is just luck, so I can't help but ... Even in such a good location, you can get a car, close to the royal palace and the market, and do not have difficulty in currency exchange, shopping, laundry. I want to stay again after renovation.
