We stayed for three days in Plataran Ubud and 5 days in Plataran Canggu, both were similar with Plataran Ubud with the more central location. Plataran is Indonesian owned with an eco-friendly approach that can be seen in everything they're doing, that was a welcome change.
The premises are very nice indeed, clean, and well cared due to a small army of staff keeping it all tidy. When I came down with Bali belly, staff recommended ginger tea which they delivered to our room, free of charge, with real ginger, not just a cheap tea bag. The staff was always very observant and supportive with whatever small things we needed to make the holiday even better. Their English was usually good, if there were language barriers they quickly got someone else to help. We didn't feel that language was a problem at all. We walked to central Ubud which is just a stone throw away to get to shops, temples, museums, etc. Drivers the hotel organised were always professional.
Plataran Canggu was very similar, but we were upgraded to a villa with pool free of charge which was awesome. The Canggu premises were even bigger and just a bit nicer, and we went back to the Spa for a second massage (the first one was free), as it was so good. It's a bit further from shops so we didn't venture out much but took taxis to locations further away. The staff was as friendly and very accommodating when we said that we're vegan (same in Ubud), not a given in all hotels.
We're highly likely to go back!

My stay at Plataran Ubud Hotel and Spa was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the customer service was outstanding, every staff member was friendly, attentive, and eager to make our stay special. The rooms were immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, with a thoughtful touch each evening - a goodnight message and a sweet treat waiting for us, adding a warm personal touch to the experience.
The dining at the resort was equally impressive. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and their barista coffee was a highlight of each morning. Not only did it taste fantastic, but the artistic coffee designs brought a smile to my face, a perfect start to the day.
One of the most unique aspects of our stay was the intimate water blessing arranged by the hotel. The experience was beyond magical. We were dressed in traditional Balinese attire, with the staff kindly assisting us to ensure everything was worn properly. A short stroll led us to the local temple, where we performed a special ceremony with the priest, cleansing ourselves in the sacred running water. This allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in Bali’s rich spiritual traditions, and it was a deeply moving experience.
For yoga lovers, the location is unbeatable. Lumeria Yoga, with its open-air shala, is just a few steps away, offering a serene environment for practice. The hotel also offers direct access to the famous Yoga Barn, making it incredibly convenient for those who wish to continue their wellness journey.
I couldn’t recommend Plataran Ubud Hotel and Spa enough. It’s the perfect blend of luxury, tradition, and wellness, and I will definitely be returning!

This was our 3rd visit to Plataran Ubud and we were once again welcomed with open arms by Gusti and the rest of the wonderful team. Such friendly helpful staff 😀 Our room on this occasion was in the 2nd building, below the View Restaurant and we certainly received spectacular views and a lovely floral display to greet us. Once again we enjoyed the tasty afternoon teas, amazing massages and delicious breakfasts, they even remembered our preference for fresh breakfast bananas and these were waiting on our table each morning 😍 The grounds are kept immaculate and we really enjoy relaxing by the pool just watching the world go by in such a peaceful place. This is an excellent hotel. Just off the main street in Ubud it’s an oasis of calm with lovely grounds.
We stayed in a room in one of the two small blocks. Excellent in every way and spotlessly clean. Also sustainably conscious with things like shampoo in nice ceramic pots not plastic sachets.
Breakfast was very good with a mix of international dishes and local ones. Dinner was likewise delicious and a reasonable price by UK standards. Lastly, the staff are all brilliant. Friendly, helpful and kind. Would strongly recommend.

This is a beautiful and friendly hotel in lovely grounds and rice fields weekly fumigated. We stayed three nights and ate in both restaurants, which were very nice, offering great personal service fulfilling our every needs. The bar / restaurant in the front offered international fare (we had burger with chips) and Happy Hour, whereas the one at the back served good local food with a view into the fields. Breakfast was also served here, and the staff could not be more helpful.
Our room was comfortable with a lovely view through the large picture window. The bathroom was clean (with a bath) and had all the amenities we needed. The soap and bath gel smelt simply divine....
There was a bus to transport our luggage and us to and from the reception if necessary. The driver was a gem! We spent some time pottering around the grounds admiring the architecture and layout, as well as a cute new born lamb!
We transferred from here to Sanur, and was sad to leave. Well done to all the staff for a great stay and thank you for the Balinese hospitality.

A great resort with in house rice fields, special dining areas and excellent hospitality. We loved our 4 nights of stay in a Villa (Yudistira). The staff was always smiling and ready to help. Even though it's situated very near to Ubud Centre, the resort grounds are void of any outside cacophony. The main dining area had excellent views of the property. There are some excellent eateries outside the property as well. The breakfast spread was just okay. Few things where things could have been better are refilling of room amenities (tea/coffee), better lighting & washroom ventilation. Nevertheless, I would surely recommend this property to anyone planning a visit to Ubud.

Our stay at Plataran is beyond words or star reviews. If I could give more than 5 stars I would without hesitation!!
As soon as we arrived at the reception we were greeted with such warmth and welcome we immediately felt at home. Plataran is by far the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Ubud and we’ve stayed at many…(we love Ubud!) Tye location is perfectly positioned to maxing shopping and beautiful restaurants. We stayed in one of the suites overlooking the main pool and weren’t disappointed with the beauty, view and size of this gorgeously designed suite. Many nights were spent laying on our deck looking out and listening to the sounds of Ubud & Plataran and absorbing its beauty. When we wanted to venture out and explore the many restaurants and shops Plataran is perfectly placed, and a 3min walk from our quiet and tranquil suite to the Teras Ubud restaurant (street access of Plataran) and onto the streets of Ubud.
When it comes to service, look no further then the exceptional staff and professional service of all employees at Plataran, in particular their Guest Services Manager, Regen. One of the nicest guys and best GSM’s you’ll ever meet! As soon as we arrived he was so helpful and warm, giving us a tour in the hotel buggy (a must do!) around the palatial grounds of Plataran. Guiding us through the many areas of the hotel Regen explained the history and cultural aspects of Plataran, Ubud and Indonesia.
Plataran will forever be our 2nd home when we visit Ubud again (very soon!) and we look forward to relaxing and being spoilt by the beautiful staff and spiritual energy of Ubud!

This is a beautiful sanctuary in Ubud for a relaxing holiday. The staff were superb, so friendly and helpful (particular thanks go to Metri, Salae and Gutzi who were wonderful!). Our room was comfortable with a lovely view out across the pool, and the balcony was nice to stand out on. The breakfast restaurant 'The View' had a beautiful outlook, and the breakfasts were lovely. They consisted of a smallish continental style buffet (with lots of local fruit to choose from) and then a choice of mains (both Balinese and European from the menu.) We also had dinner and lunch here - the menus are not extensive, but the food was delicious and not expensive for a hotel of this quality. We enjoyed massages at the Spa, which has a beautiful outlook, and the masseurs were professional Position of the hotel is super - you feel as if you are in the countryside, and yet you are only a stone's throw from the main areas of Ubud. There is a lane that takes you from the guest bedrooms to the main restaurant which then leads out onto one of the main roads in Ubud. It took us about 30 minutes to walk to the Palace and the main market, although the hotel helped us with taxis, and made everything very easy if we wanted to get anywhere. When we stayed at Plataran there was complimentary yoga each morning, occasional things happening in the lobby such as hat making, a complimentary golf cart to take you either to reception, or to the main restaurant if it was raining, and complimentary afternoon high tea. There was also a morning walk you could book, also complimentary, with Gutzi which takes about 1 hour taking you to the back of the hotel and out around the neighbouring village and surrounds to a fresh market and a temple. We enjoyed a super informative walk one morning with Gutzi, and really loved it. Thank you Plataran Ubud for a wonderul 4 nights. I shall write more on my blog - Lifestyle Fifty - and include photos.

The rooms at the Plataran are spacious, clean and the air conditioning works!! The staff are very accommodating. Whether it was a direct fan at the breakfast table, a buggy ride to reception or a fresh serving of eggs, they were ready to help.
They also helped arrange taxi rides and spa services.. Even at other hotels.
The location is on the heart of Ubud bit you don't hear any street noise from the pools, restaurants or rooms

We enjoyed our stay at Plataran Ubud very much. We were upgraded from our Garden Villa with Pool to Suite. Our suite was very spacious. It got 2 bathrooms, dining room, living room and a patio. More than enough space for our little one to run around.
The breakfast did not have too much of varieties but was delicious. The restaurant was not too big and gave that 'spacious' and 'less crowded' feel.
The staffers were very friendly and attentive especially their manager, Mr Gusti. He helped to ensure that we had pleasant stay like bananas were always served at our table every morning as it was our little one's favourite. He ensured that we got bath mat for the bath tub as it was very slippery.
They also had yoga class every morning. The class was held under a large banyan tree: Really nice open space place to have yoga.
The staffers at the kids club were very friendly as well and took good care of our little toddler. Spending time there was the highlight of her day.
The location of the hotel is very strategic. A lot of food options within walking distance outside the hotel. Supermarket and pharmacy are also all within walking distance.
We'll be back for sure.
