Staying at this hotel is my main reason for going to Ubud. I have been fascinated by this hotel and its staff for almost 20 years now. Whenever I go, I am greeted by the warm smiles of the same members, and when I enter the beautifully maintained garden, I feel like I am back home. This is my second home.
This was my first time staying at Jaytayu, a single-story villa. When I entered the private gate, there was a large garden and a large terrace, and it was great to have a nap on the daybed near the pond. From the gazebo in the garden, I could see the neighboring rice fields. This garden is only accessible to Jaytayu guests, so privacy is completely maintained.
There was a seating area in the room that gave me a feeling of old Japan, and I was able to relax in my room.
The shower room outside also has a sense of openness, which makes me feel like I am at a resort in Bali.
As always, the breakfast is plentiful and delicious. It has changed little by little since I first stayed there, and I felt the passage of time in the fact that the croissants have improved in taste.
When I go to Ubud again, I will definitely stay at this hotel. There is no other choice.

Rice fields, sunrises, volcano, atmosphere, silence and sounds of nature, furnishings, spaces, excellent breakfasts, comfort and extraordinary hospitality are the reasons for choosing this hotel, which will always remain in our hearts. The sweetness, professionalism and discretion of the staff always available make the place magical. We really liked our quiet and secluded Cassuary 111 room starting from the patio with a splendid view of rice paddies, with canopy, desk, table, sofa and kettle. Very comfortable beds, even the child's bed with super mosquito net (few insects). Breakfast is ordered the night before, we have chosen to always have it brought to the room. Excellent quality products, especially the juices and croissants. But the real surprise is the bathroom, of considerable size with bathtub, sink, wardrobe, bottle of drinking water and open air shower... truly suggestive. The swimming pool is clean and from 3 to 6 they will offer you tea and coffee with a slice of cake. Possibility of free shuttle to Ubud, although we always went on foot. In the evening you can order dinner or go to the clubs a stone's throw from the hotel, if so we recommend it
The Numan cafe (on tree) good international cuisine
Laka leke international cuisine
Mother: healthy and vegetarian choices
Swasti Eco cottages: veg cuisine great price our favorite!
Heartfelt thanks to our very kind driver Isa, terima kashi!
Ps: Don't miss the Ayung River rafting and downhill cycling from Kintamani.

Our 10 day stay at Alam Jiwa far exceeded our expectations, with the kind, friendly and attentive staff giving us outstanding care. The small, intimate hotel is set in beautiful gardens, hidden away next to rice paddies and a lush, natural landscape. The hotel is designed in authentic Balinese style, with accommodation that ensures privacy, and balconies with varying garden and/or rice field views. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable with a generous breakfast served on the private balconies or by the pool. Lunch and dinner can be ordered in. A short walk down a quiet lane takes you to the heart of the delightful village of Nyuh Kuning (just south of Monkey Forest) with its attractive streets lined with frangipane trees, shrines and a wide range of small restaurants and coffee shops. Ubud is about 20 minutes walk away, although the hotel also provides a shuttle service on-demand.

While some guests used the hotel as a base for excursions, we mostly wanted peace and relaxation, reading and swimming, and de-stressing from the first day. We are now planning our return trip.

This was our second stay at this marvellous resort and we’d forgotten just how good it is. From the moment you check in to when you reluctantly check out, it is simply a different world and fantastic in every way.

Accommodation – each is individual and very cleverly laid out to give maximum privacy. Ours had a four poster bed with mosquito net and lots of traditional furniture. The bathroom was huge with a beautiful outdoor shower overlooking the rice fields – quite an unbelievable experience to get clean here!

There is a safe, umbrellas, fridge, hot drinks, making facilities – everything you need for a very comfortable’s day.

The air-conditioning was just about good enough to keep cool but we had a fan which helped as well.

Wi-Fi – you don’t really come to this kind of place to experience blistering Wi-Fi, but it was good enough. It reached the room and was best around the pool Where you could stream video should you like.

Food – we were served breakfast in our room and it’s the best breakfast I’ve ever had. We used to get the banana pancakes with coconut which were amazing along with excellent juice and coffee. You can choose a cooked breakfast, but we just had fruit with yoghurt and bakery which set us up wonderfully for the day.

Location – very good indeed.

You are in a small village with shops and restaurants and it is a 25 minute walk through monkey Forest into town.

Staff – simply amazing.

Pool – small but very beautiful. There are seven sun lounges around it and it does get popular. There is also other sitting areas or your balcony should be full.

Very discreet, but There in a moment should you need them. I like the tipping system here which is to save it all until the end and put it in a box which is shared amongst all the staff. This seems a fair way of doing things and it would be good for the hotels adopted it.

We have stayed here 3 different times, and will come back whenever we visit Ubud. The rooms are beautiful, the grounds and views are lovely, the breakfasts are excellent, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, quiet with great restaurants nearby, and easy access to the more noisy and bustling parts of Ubud. Will be back!

What a wonderful experience! One of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. We were taking a few days to relax between two action-packed parts of our vacation and Alam Jiwa was a great place to relax and unwind. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. We loved our room (Hanoman) so much that we could barely tear ourselves away. We spent hours on our verandah taking in the sights and sounds and just relaxing. One evening we did take advantage of the shuttle service to attend a performance in Ubud but were more than happy to come back to the quieter vibe of Alam Jiwa. It is fun to stroll and explore the nearby village too. My guess would be that the second floor rooms are nicer as you catch a breeze.

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. What is not to love about it? The rooms are spacious and decorated with beautiful woodwork, beds are are large and supremely comfortable and the shower is great. Th property is stylish with trees, plants, flowers and stone carved sculptures. It is very quiet but there are several restaurants within walking distance. Central Ubud is perhaps a 30-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk or go a museum that is further away you can go by the hotel shuttle. The people who work here are super friendly, breakfast is plenty and very good. There lots of options so even if you stay a week you won't get tired of it. The swimming pool is great. I hope to come back some day.

Without a doubt one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the fortune to stay in. We were upgraded to a huge 2 bedroom villa - it was next level traditional Balinese gorgeous. I almost found it difficult to venture out into town it was so tranquil, lush and exquisite.
Breakfast by the large pool was a lovely start to the day - plenty of choice and also had the option to deliver to the room (which my teen loved as he slept in each morning)
As a first timer to Ubud I wasn’t sure about which location would be best. Can confidently say that Alam Jiwa was perfect for us. A nice walk across rice paddies into the tourist hustle but far enough away to be completely peaceful with no traffic noise. The absolute highlight though was meeting the staff. Without exception everyone was lovely, happy to answer questions and were completely charming. Thanks in particular to Colo and Wayan - you are fantastic assets to this beautiful hotel. We can’t wait to come back one day. Kath, Rob and Rafi….

Small family complex located slightly outside the city center in a very quiet location.
The staff is wonderful. Availability, friendliness, seriousness etc....
The room is spacious with a beautiful view of the vegetation and the bathroom with shower open to the outside is wonderful.
All in pure Balinese style.
It is truly an enchanting place.

This luxury hotel is all about the traditions and beauty of Bali. Every villa is a suite with a tranquil atmosphere and an eye for detail. Everything is presented as though it’s a work of art. Yellow marigolds are everywhere around the complex decorating Hindu statues that line the walkways to each villa. There are lily ponds and lots of lush greenery and flowers all around the property.

The service is also incredible. Manik is one of the people who works in the reception area and he is extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. There is nothing he or any other employee won’t do to make your stay more enjoyable. They will arrange tours, dance shows, shuttles to and from town (free of charge!) and just about anything else you can think of.

We also chose to have breakfast included in our stay and are very happy we did. We could have it delivered to our room or eat at the reception area. We always chose our room and sat on the balcony overlooking a stream and jungle. It was the perfect way to begin each day.

We cannot recommend Alam Jiwa enough! We hope to return someday and stay longer. It’s a true gem.
