Booked to stay here for one night but ended up extending! the rooms are all huge and clean, we even had stairs in our room leading to a den! Beautiful pool, and the staff were so attentive. Nice choice of Balinese or western breakfast. The location is about 10 minute walk from central ubud but peaceful and there are shops... More

such a beautiful setting waking up in the morning with your breakfast on the balcony and looking out to the jungle! The staff are incredible, really efficient with meals and so helpful..they even gave us rides to the rice fields on their bikes and took us to the airport! Wear lots of mosquitos spray as the rooms are very open!

The Gunung Merta consist of rooms in a famil run complex about a 500 meter walk to the bustling street that has the Ubud Market on it, connects to Monkey Temple Road and if you don not object to walking provides easy access to everything Ubud is about. The rooms are clean and include breakfast. During our stay we booked... More

We stayed for a little more than two weeks and got to experience Nyepi Day here. The family was very welcoming and helped to answer all questions and make travel arrangements. The pool and surrounding gardens are beautiful. The location was great and we walked everywhere all the time. As previously stated the rooms were not the cleanest. It felt... More

When you go to Ubud it is all about relaxing and soaking in culture. My stay here provided me both. I stayed in a room facing beautiful fields and I could also see neighbors temple! I could not get enough of the view from my deck. My room was big and clean! NO AC yet it was breezy and airy!... More

Gunung Merta Bungalows is the best accomodation I found during my travel! It is located just 2 minutes form Ubud main street, close enough from the main attractions (supermarket, bank, bakery just in front) but far from the traffic and the noise, in an oasi of peace. The bungalows are clean, well designed, fresh and facing beautiful ricefields in front. Also... More

I booked a rice field view bungalow. The good: Lovely, helpful staff that will shuttle you into town at any time at no charge. The room was massive! Beautiful big patio overlooking greenery. It was cool too, so a fan was sufficient even on very hot days. Breakfast was nice and can be served in-room. The not so good: A... More

We returned with another group of friends to show them the 'real' Bali yet still wanted them to experience the culture, atmosphere and restaurant life of Ubud. Nana and his team were all there with their huge smiles, friendly service where nothing is too much trouble. This little boutique collection of bungalows, set in a family compound has its own... Gunung Merta is a small home stay with only 8 rooms adjoining the back of a stunning traditional Balinese home, centred around a central courtyard. The family is incredibly welcoming and friendly. The rooms do not disappoint and are very clean, comfortable, and with heaps of natural light. We had a second story room and would highly recommend requesting one... More

Gunung, is like staying at your family. I have stayed here three times and I do not regret it one bit. The food is great, prices are great and the rooms have beautiful views and are quite clean. The rooms I stayed in were not air conditioned though. Could be a problem for some.
