The family at Rumah Roda, immediately welcome you to their family compound, and are delighted to share the true Bali experience with you. I have been going to Bali for many years, and I always spend time with Darta and his lovely family. Ubud has become overcrowded with tourists, this little haven off the main drag has been a lifeline...

Have been going to Rumah Roda for past five years and love it! The owners are very friendly and welcoming, the staff as well. The pool is clean and wonderful for swimming or cooling off! Rooms and bath are very large & spacious, nicely furnished and clean. Gardens are lovely; restaurants serves a complimentary breakfast each morning and is open...

Rumah Roda came recommended by the folks who own Threads of Life. Darta, his family and staff are welcoming and very friendly. They even invited and included me in some their holiday celebrations.(I was here during 3 major holidays!) The cost of $18US a night including breakfast really can't be beat, and the location which is walkable within minutes to...

If you're expecting a luxury hotel, walk on by. If on the other hand you want a cosy relaxing haven in the heart of Ubud this place is definitely worth a try. Darta and his family offer a simple homestay and restaurant. They are open and willing to converse and explain the workings of the household, what it means to...

We stayed here for 4 nights in the room on the ground floor behind the pool. What I loved about it was that there were 2 travellers (70 and 90) who stay for long periods of time each year and the family were so lovely - it felt like a community and when we left, despite the fact we were...

Stay in a quiet neighbourhood right in the centre of Ubud with a friendly family - yes please! Pak Darta is a lovely man to talk to and he will tell you all sorts of stories. My room was large, the bed extremely comfortable and the swimming pool very inviting after a hot Balinese day. Rumah Roda is also a...

This is basically the place you want to stay at, I can't imagine anyone wouldn't like this place. It's a small oasis in a silent area of the city, with beautiful green plants and swimming pool. Staff very friendly and remembered my name which made me feel welcome. Room are clean and beautiful and there is such a peaceful atmosphere...

My sister and I stayed here for four nights in June. I had read the book 'A Little Bit One O'clock ' and we also wanted to experience living with a Balinese family. Our holiday here was everything we had hoped it would be. Darta is a wonderful host and together with his friendly family and staff, offers you a...

Beautiful family-run hotel down a lovely alley. Feels like an oasis in busy, commercial Ubud. Sweet pool. Very friendly family who run it, and Darta has excellent English. Safe and cosy. You can walk one way to the busy tourist markets and the other way to the rice paddies!

We didn't stay in the accommodation but ate in the restaurant twice on our short stay in Ubud. We last ate here 10 years ago (after reading a review in the Lonely Planet) and were pleased to see that the restaurant was still in operation with the same great local cuisine - of course it was good to see they...
