This place is just perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful inside and out. We stayed in one of the garden villas with a private pool for 4 nights, and I could have honestly stayed forever! JL Bisma is a fantastic location lined with trendy and traditional warungs as well pharmacies and mini marts. The monkey forest is only a 10 minute walk away. All the food at the hotel is reasonably priced and delicious and there is plenty of choice at breakfast for both sweet and savoury tastes.
The rooms and hotel are kept spotless throughout your stay and the surroundings of the hotel are amazing and teaming with nature.
The spa offers a fantastic range of treatments and I can highly recommend the couples special treatment offer.
This was my stop on my my very first trip to Bali /Ubud and Tejaprana Bisma have made my introduction to Bali the best! To find fault with this place is purely made up.
You will be tough to beat Tejaprana and I hope it wont be too long till I’m back :)

Location is near the Monkey forest, waking distance. I stayed valley view villa so we could feel the Ubud vibe-nature friendly view and sound of bird, wind etc. Villa interior was beautiful and furniture waa very clean and neat. I liked breakfast too because it was served in pretty plate and cups and it was tasteful. Also I really liked scenery from the main pool and restaurant.

Extremely fortunate to have just spent 5 nights at this incredible hotel over new year.
I struggle to believe there is a better place in the whole of Ubud, as Tejaprana Bisma has it all.
Location is absolutely perfect; you have that 'away from it all' feeling, with glorious views from the main pool overlooking the valley and rice fields in the distance.
Yet you have the huge benefit of being able to wander into the centre of Ubud in about 15 minutes, where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. (there are also plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes from the hotel)
You're also only 5 minutes round the corner from Monkey Forest.
It really is the best of both worlds here.
Within the hotel, you have the fantastic villas, all complete with a private plunge pool.
I had the valley view villa and it was perfect.
Really liked the outdoor space and even if it rained, you could still sit outside on the sheltered daybed.
The pool was inviting and refreshing.
The main had that spectacular view and was a great option if you wanted to get a proper swim in.
The food was lovely; breakfast delicious with plenty of options and also had a couple of evening meals there that were also lovely.
Another big highlight of the hotel was the staff and service; all incredibly friendly and helpful, from reception through to housekeeping and restaurant.
They all seemed genuinely happy in their work and were always smiling and offering a warm greeting.
Didn't use the spa so can't comment on that.
The only slight drawbacks were the spotty WiFi (1st world problems indeed), which sometimes cut out for quite long periods, and the price of things like cocktails within the hotel bar did seem a little steep. However, it is a 5* hotel so nothing too out of the ordinary there.
I think it's only a matter of time before Tejaprana Bisma is ranked No1 on here, and it will be extremely well deserved when it gets to the top of the tree.
I will be back and would urge anyone else thinking of stopping in Ubud (which is absolutely lovely) to get booked in here, you won't regret it.

Wow, where to even begin with the (much-deserved) accolades for this property? My second trip to Ubud, Bali was nothing short of magical in this accommodation, which offers precisely the attributes I seek when traveling: serenity, service, and surreal scenery. Amazingly, while the villas are located well within walking distance of Ubud, they are set just far enough back for guests to truly enjoy the quiet and amazing views of rice terraces while enjoying the included breakfast. Room service was also fantastic, with remarkably fresh, high quality meals at extremely reasonable prices; we stayed four nights and ordered room service at least three different times: It was that good, as well as that efficient. Special shout out to Ariani, who went out of her way to make our stay wonderful, though every single staff member was truly remarkable in the extent to which they would go out of their way to help you.
We also used the spa services twice, which were extremely well priced; the massages were excellent and made the retreat back to the villa overlooking the rice terraces all the more relaxing. Speaking of the villa, the outdoor bathtub for soaking is especially divine, and the covering enables one to soak and enjoy the nature even when it begins to rain.
As far as touring Ubud and several other sites within two hours' driving distance, the services of Angga are very strongly recommended: He is remarkably accommodating, friendly, and more than willing to assist tourists with site seeing and excellent eating! We had a fantastic day trip up to Bratan Lake/Beratan Temple, as well as Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, the largest rice terraces in Bali, which also received UNESCO distinction in 2012, as we learned from Angga. Having a private driver in a very comfortable, tinted car at an extremely reasonable price was a fantastic additional benefit.
Would absolutely stay here again whenever in Ubud, and it is absolutely recommended without reservation.

This resort was beyond my expectations. I rented a room with a private pool and a view of the monkey forest and river valley. My favorite part is the outdoor bathtub and they replenish the bath salts every day. Actually, the staff is the best part. Everyone treated me like a king. The food was five stars, the cleanliness was five stars, the bed was giant and clean and the Villa was absolutely beautiful! I really don’t have anything negative to say about this place, I stayed here for weekends in a row and just kept coming back because I love you so much.

We visited from the United States, this is our 2nd time to Bali. Tejaprana Bisma is in the ideal location to walk to downtown Ubud or use as a home base with your car or scooter, when you're on the property it feels like you're in a mixture of a jungle and a rice patty yet far removed from any urban setting. Great restaraunts nearby. We rented the 2 bedroom pool villa and during our stay we arranged through Tejaprana Bisma to have someone from the hotel's staff to watch after our kids. They did so from 10-3 each day for 4 days for a very reasonable rate and did cooking classes, kite making, a local village visit, monkey forest, bali zoo...so the kids had an incredible time as did us adults! When we got home, the kids said the best part of the trip was the time they spent with Yoga (their guide). We hope to come back!!

We visited for 5 nights. The room was nice with a great view and we could often see monkeys from the room. Food was good and we organised all of our activities through the hotel! They organised a motorBike for the day for us, and one of their staff drove us around to see the sites of Ubud for a good price. We would stay here again!

Great experience at this hotel ! Staff are so helpful, we had private pool room, was beautiful, it’s very close to the town only 10 min walk ! And lots of little bars and shops along the walk if you take the longer route towards town! Quieter hotel, really nice and relaxing ! We originally thought it was going to be in the middle of nowhere looking at the pictures but glad to see it was close to everything, Great if you want romantic getaway but still close to the town, Food was really good we had dinner here a few nights and a few nights in the town and food here was far better! crispy duck is a must and breakfast is a big spread each morning you pick you main and you get additional fruit, a bread, juice, tea/coffee choice all included !
Room was really clean and they had plug in mosquito repellent and they light outside mosquito repellent each evening so we never got bitten,
And room has multiple plug adapter so great if you forgot yours
The staff were really great and helpful so we and the hotel its self is so picturesque and beautiful ! would definitely visit again !

We had an absolutely exceptional stay here, the room was amazing and every detail thought of! We stayed in a valley room, the personal infinity pool area was super private and got sun for most of the day. Plus there was a cabana over to the side with sofa seating if you want to stay in the shade. The whole hotel is very well laid out and the infinity pool and restaurant area have amazing views. The food at the restaurant for every meal was delicious and so well presented. The staff were extremely helpful with any request and very knowledgeable of activities and things to do.
We had Made as our driver who was great fun to have in the car for our half day trip and provided so many facts about each place we went to.
We could not recommend this place more, and if we come back to Ubud will definitely be staying here again.

My husband and I stayed for 4 night in this amazing hotel and I can not say enough how great this resort is. Firstly the location is amazing. It literally surrounded by the Monkey forest and you constantly see these curious little visitor’s everywhere around the hotel . The room has a cubic shower room which faces a private patio and your own small pool. There is an incredible stone full size bath tab outside the room on the patio and a sitting area too. What a bliss! The rooms are tastefully decorated and look amazing. We learned that the owner is an architect who designed this places and we were surprised of this great designed hotel, I had the best spa treatment there with whooping 40% discount and felt totally relaxed. Every corner of this hotel is filled with the relaxation. The furniture in outdoors and indoors are superb. And of course the stuff are the nicest people like the rest of Balinese people, offering their guest such a great hospitality! I would like to mention the name of one of restaurant host Ani who welcomed us with such a love and wax the most amazing person.
Many many thanks. We definitely 100% will visit you again and recommend this hotel to everyone who ever visits Ubud.

Hi Nichola
There isn't much ,they have only three terrace villas .From terrace villas you can see few below villas only when you are in a swimming pool whereas forest one have direct views of firest whixh is similar to staying in terrace villas if you are not in the pool. I stayed in terrace villas and they were awesome
Hope this helps
Hi Mark, there are a couple of studios on Jalan Bisma max 15 mins walk from the resort. There often didn't appear to be much going on though. Here's one example though that has casual visit info...they also have a great cafe attached. honeymoonguesthouse.comslashyoga
This one is about 15 mins walk.
