We’re beyond thrilled we booked here! The price, location, quality can’t be beat! The ornate lodge looked exotic and gave us the feel of a true Balinese cultural experience. The grounds were beautiful (and growing with plans to expand), the staff was the most helpful and friendly, the food was 100% fresh/local/delicious (we all miss the variety of freshly squeezed juices! Plus banana pancakes and traditional Balinese dishes!) and the location was in the heart of everything while being just off the road to enjoy some much needed quiet in busy Ubud. We had our two young daughters with us (4yrs and almost 2yrs) and we walked most places around Ubud with them just fine (Monkey Forrest, market, yoga barn, palace, restaurants, shops, etc.). We had a room with two canopy beds and were provided fresh fruits and water in our room daily. We arranged airport transportation through the lodge to get us from the airport to the lodge in the middle of the night. The price was reasonable/comparable to other estimates I researched. Our room was on a bottom level with views of the pool. The pool was surrounded by beautiful flowers, fountains, sculptures, etc. and all the chairs had nicely folded towels and fresh flowers placed on them. We loved swimming in the pool before or after our daily activities and excursions. The staff was so sweet to our girls and the young owner spoke great English and was very helpful with providing information for local attractions. However, we used a local taxi driver we met in town for all our daily excursions and planning. His English was great and his knowledge of the country sites was key for planning out our days. Plus being flexible with two little ones! (+62 813-3853-9235 Katut Puspawan- Mr. Free Hugs). There’s so much to see and do in Bali, and Ubud is a great launching point. It takes longer to get places due to traffic and layout/structure of roads. We extended our stay here because we loved the lodge, location, and realized we needed more time to explore and not feel rushed. Next to the lodge is a school and our girls loved visiting the school girls. We can’t wait to go back one day!

We stayed here for almost a full week in December and so pleased to have done so. Our stay was wonderful. The hotel is clean and staff are on hand at all times to help with anything you may need. They gave us great tips for places to eat visit. There is a driver should you want to book journeys by car though there are also many ( very many!) taxi drivers in the surrounding streets readily available. The location is fairly central but the setting is tranquil and we loved that we could return back from the hustle and bustle to a peaceful haven. They provide the most gorgeous breakfast which also happens to be vegan and a mix of western and traditional Balinese dishes. I have to mention the staff again, they are so friendly and really made us feel welcome. We stayed with our 9 month old daughter and she was so excited every time she set eyes on the staff as every one of them offered some interaction which delighted her greatly!
They were also able to provide us with a travel cot. The pool was clean and monitored regularly. There is also a lovely outdoor seating area to eat at or relax.

I am very happy with my stay at this hotel:
1) a quiet place in the city center at the fork of all the main streets, where there is a party
2) the hotel has the concept of ecology, healthy food. They have their own garden where they grow herbs for their restaurant
3) I lived in a huge room on the top floor and had a view of the whole city, on the floor there was only my room and I felt like a Queen
4) very tasty large breakfasts (5 items to choose from) that you order on vatsap as soon as you wake up. Breakfast is served at the table next to the entrance to room 5) clean pool. In the morning to swim in a pleasure
6) and in very authentic Balinese style
7) huge modern TV and digital TV. You can watch films by YouTube!!!
Most importantly, the hotel Manager solved the problem with settling in and selecting a room very correctly, we were able to agree. This is the best factor when the hotel is focused on guests and works honestly. Business is based on quality services and hospitality! Good luck and all the best to this hotel!!!

We stayed for 8 nights in January and couldn’t be happier with our choice. We stayed in room 12 which had a massive balcony overlooking the pool area and plenty of room inside for our family of four. The hotel offers one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had (it is vegan, but it didn’t bother us and the teenagers raved about the scrambled tofu). The pool was lovely after a busy days sightseeing and we were especially grateful for the never ending supply of water to fill up our own bottles. It was an easy walk to some of the attractions in the centre of Ubud, and whilst the location was in the centre it was surprisingly quiet. We were very happy with our stay and haven’t hesitated to recommend Gayatri to friends.

Pros: Beautiful Balinese-style entrance and garden, kind staff, welcoming fruit, great location.

Cons:
The room condition(room 9) was very much disappointed. As soon as I entered the room I immediately saw the dirty bedclothes. They changed it to a white sheet when asked. I had spent much time to choose nice rooms for my family but most of us were not satisfied at all. We stayed at 5 different rooms.
Reviews said that the rooms were renovated, but the bathroom of room 9 was a nightmare to me. I guess the materials of the wall and floor should be blamed for. Maybe they easily get dirty and are difficult to clean up. The maintenance seemed to be annoyed when being called. It was apparent he had repeatedly cleaned it before when guests had complained about it. Breakfast was also below my expectations.

I wouldn't recommend this place. You can be satisfied with this hotel, but you might want to avoid room 9. Sadly though, it has a great view. The cleaning should be improved.

I stayed at Gayatri for 17 nights in January and I’m so pleased I opted for this stunning art boutique hotel. Seriously, it’s a beautiful property. I work in hospitality in NYC and have high standards and I was blown away by how lovely the team is at Gayatri, the convenience of the location, the delicious breakfast that was always delivered on time, the upkeep of the grounds and the strict dedication to a mission of conscious hospitality. I will always recommend Gayatri to my family and friends visiting Ubud.

ayatri was fantastic. The service I received here was exceptional. Having stayed at many hotels of big chains across the globe I would rate Service at Gayatari the best I have ever received. From Check-in with Wulan to daily interaction with Puspa, Ayu or Cyntia for our needs, the response we got was polite and immediate. Full marks to them
Although their breakfast was Vegan which is supposedly good for us vegetarians but for my children it was a kind of no options as without milk or cornflakes it completely blocked their choices. Also for my room which was on the GF the AC was kind of ineffective but still manageable. Infact the way Gayatri is located and surrounded by full vegetation they should also make provisions of fans in the room. This will certainly reduce the usage of Aircons overall. Just a suggestion.

Gayatri was our first stop in Bali, we figured after a long few flights from Florida we wanted to relax in Ubud and get over some Jetlag. Well we picked the PERFECT place to do it. Gayatri's staff greets you at the entry with warm welcome and flowers showering the walkway. We picked a rooftop room with a open roof shower and WOW was it beautiful, from sunrise to sunset the view was incredible. They bring free breakfast to your room every day, and I couldn't have been more impressed with the presentation and breakfast delivery. Terima Kasih to all the staff and the owner of this beautiful place. Stay here you won't regret it.

Gayatri is a lovely hidden surprise only meters from the hustle of the main street. Calm and secluded it has lovely rooms, delicious breakfast and superb staff.

We particularly like the care and detail in every corner; from the ornate carved exterior, to flowers in the rooms, to fresh fruit and especially the plastic free philosophy.

Oh Gayatri Hotel, I have dreamed of coming back since Covid stopped us from travelling! My stay was just as wonderful as I remembered!

Seeing Ayu’s lovely smile and face, along with all of your excellent staff was like being welcomed back to an old loved family 🌸.

I first stayed in Room 16-Kresna, in 2019, and loved it so much I was going to stay there again, but this time was lucky enough to enjoy Room 17-Garuda on the very top floor Penthouse suite. WOW. What a view!

The bedroom itself is beautiful and serene and the views from the balcony were incredible, lucky enough to see Mt Agung in the early morning.

The outside shower was lovely and they have water filling stations which is lovely.

I literally love the food here so much, I actually only ordered food from the hotel, it’s ALL delicious and beautifully prepared but I love the black rice pudding in particular!

Pool and gardens, along with the beautiful Balinese architecture is top rate and Gayatri is a serene oasis in the middle of very busy Ubud right off Monkey Forrest Rd near the Ubud Palace and markets.

I actually love waking up to the children arriving at school and hearing them sing, this is a family hotel with a long history and Ubud has gotten busier and built up around this Hotel so a little noise is to be expected.

I follow the owner on Instagram so have learned the history as well as admiring their philosophy on taking care of their employees, sustainability and approach to life.

Highly recommend to anyone who loves learning about Balinese culture and life.

Til next time Gayatri 😘🇦🇺🙏
