I recently stayed at Alam Pracetha Bali in Ubud for 15 days. It was my first overseas trip by myself and I was nervous, to say the least. Upon arrival, I instantly felt safe and welcomed by Kevin (the manager) and his beautiful family. I made a new best mate (the little 5 year old boy who lives there) who is hilarious and loves to play games and fell in love with their newborn baby girl. Profits from this hotel/hostel go towards supporting children's education at the nearby school, which Kevin's 2 boys attend (15 & 12). Kevin arranged for me to teach English there for a few days, which was a life-changing experience. It was humbling and so fun and would highly recommend, the kids there LOVE it when foreigners go there to teach them English. They were so well-behaved and cooperative. The food at Alam Pracetha was delicious and so affordable, I LOVED the sweet corn soup and had their special green coconut pancake with fruit every morning (as breakfast is included). Although the location is about 20 minutes drive from central Ubud, Kevin goes into town almost everyday so can give you and ride and pick you up in the afternoon, otherwise a GoJek is so cheap to get or renting a scooter is possible through the hotel. The rooms are clean and beautiful and are cleaned every couple of days. The laundry service is quick, cheap and done to a very high standard. Kevin's wife and student who work there are so friendly and welcoming. Kevin is incredible and I always felt very safe with him. He is the local village healer as well as hotel manager, so he is friends with everyone in the surrounding village and is great for giving local tips. I was so sad to be leaving Alam Pracetha as it felt more like a home than just a place to stay. I would highly recommend this place, I cannot wait to go back!!

Kevin is a great host. This is a fairly new guest house so they are still finding their feet. It really is in the middle of nowhere so expect to have to get a driver or rent a scooter to get around. Lots of things to see in the surrounding area, on our first day we went to Ubud town centre which wasn't worth it. Too much traffic and too many people. The second day Kevin's brother took us on a day tour (IDR 600 for 9am-6pm) of the less touristy sights around Ubud. We went to rice paddies, a hot spring, monkey forest and temples. Great day out. Also some of the money for the rooms and services go to help educate local children and the breakfast is delicious and generous! There were quite a few mosquitos in the bathroom, perhaps more could be done to keep them out. There was a mosquito net on the bed so we didn't get bitten during the night.

We don’t have hot shower in dorm room type. But sooner or later they will add. The inn is pretty new so it is on the process. 눇I stayed for 2 nights in dorm room type at the price of 14USD with free delicious breakfast, good location and 4 star service. My whole vacation was unforgettable because of them. Thanks to you! I will recommend you to my family and friends.

Absolutely incredible!! Before I get too far, it should be known that a portion of what you spend here goes directly to supporting local schools and children in the region! As if that isn’t enough it just keeps getting better(literally, they are working to expand accommodation and services in the future). ...This is one of the best stays I have had in all of my travels EVER, not just here in Bali!!! The staff and everyone here truly became my Bali family! Five star and beyond accommodation and service at a budget friendly price. Wait till you have breakfast...or any of the food they offer(extremely fairly priced) for that matter!! You really just have to go and experience it for yourself. Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time here. There is so much to see and do in the local area and many services offered thru the property. Be sure to ask about the healing body work or really anything you might be interested in. They will help arrange transport to Ubud, sites nearby, or other islands like the Gilis or Lombok. Whatever, wherever it is just ask and I am certain they will do everything possible to help. They are truly vested in your happiness and it is very evident in every aspect. So don’t be shy, feel at home, and feel like family. We shared our languages and many laughs! They are very keen to continue learning english and are very happy, wonderful Bali/Indonesia teachers! I couldn’t possibly say enough good things about this place or these people. I miss it dearly already!! ...but am of course already planning my return. Do your Life a favor and book this place now!!...I’m serious! :) PS- Also be sure to check out DaGreen Warung. Great people, great food, great prices! Not too much english spoken, but they’ll make sure you are taken care of

I arrived to this place because a friend of mine was staying here, and I am glad he convinced me because it has been one of the best experiences I've ever had. Just by getting there, you get in love. You feel like home. Kevin and his family made us feel very comfortable, and they really helped us understand the balinese culture, that is very special. This is what makes you love your trip to Bali.

We got a card off a random traveller in Australia who said we need to go here. We decided to stay here for our final nights in Bali and it was the best part of our travels. Kevin, the owner, is so welcoming and he couldn't have done more for us. His wife cooked us food, he drove us into town, he even took us to a religious cleansing ritual in full ceremony clothing. His focus is to provide a balinese experience and it was something we hadn't experienced any where else. He clearly loves what he does and I couldn't recommend this place more.
