Stayed five nights in a valley room. (Well worth it). The pool area and the staff were the stand out features for me. The room was also great, but it was the view that made it. Rewarded with visits from monkeys daily (and also giant spiders!) this place is lovely and quiet - only a few rooms and very clean. The gardens are well kept and the poolside and pool are top class.
It’s about 2k from Ubud, but not really walkable. Don’t let that put you off, drivers/taxis are a plenty - we used a local village guy called Gangi who picked us up from the airport and then did our driving every day for a fixed price. He lives in the village and we were happy that we were supporting him rather than a random taxi driver. We met his family and felt honoured he’d included us in his ‘village life’ !
Ubud is great, chaotic, but lots of different things to see and do.
Only downside was limited menu in the hotel - somedays we just wanted to sit by the pool all day but had to go into ubud for something more exciting food wise !
All in all - great hotel, would deffo stay again.

We had such a wonderful journey, Ari came to pick us up from the airport, sooooo friendly and nice, then we spent a Beutiful time in the villa. Kutut’s sister came to prepare us a delicious breakfast in front of us, amazing service and lovely people, then She took us to visit the Pandora Hotel and we ware Amazed because of the rooms and suites! It is a must to go there and stay!! The villa and the hotel have huge spaces to enjoy your peaceful time in Bali. We are so grateful and thank you very much for such a wonderful experience. Ari is a perfect company if you are planning to travel around and visit places. Romel O.

Traveling around the island of Bali we’ve also searched for a place to stay in Ubud. The Pandora Hotel is really a home away from home.

The whole crew and owner will do everything to make you feel at home.

Perfect rooms, great amenities and exceptional food is how to describe what we’ve experienced. They even have an a la cart breakfast which many 5 star+ hotels could learn from.

It’s a few minutes away from Ubud centre. The hotel has a driver 24/7 if you want to visit Ubud or something else.

We had the choice of cheaper accommodation in central Ubud, or paying more for a resort with a view and a pool, for that reason we chose The Pandora. We were disappointed on arrival to find that the pool was "Under Treatment”, and we were unable to swim in it or the duration of our stay. There was no attempt by management to compensate us for this despite our complaints. Very disappointing as we paid extra for a resort with a pool and had to leave the resort when we wanted to cool down with a swim. The second frustration relates to the uncomfortable presence of the manager during our meals. He would approach and make small talk with us while we were eating, and then would stand there, two feet away from us and hover around while we ate. This was very rude and made us very uncomfortable! It was also infuriating for management to address my husband and not me, this doesn’t fly with Australian women! The other staff were exceptional. The breakfast menu was small and the menu items poor.

Pandora hotel was the third hotel we were staying in, have to say it was the best hotel from all those three. The minute we arrived we received amazing welcome, staff waited for us to have shower get changed and serve dinner. Considering the food, hotel has really good chef I was really surprised he knew European and Asian kitchen really well. Moreover, the hotel itself has amazing panorama because it's on the cliff. To have breakfast, lunch or dinner looking at that view, I found myself having amazing and relaxing experience. Overall if I am coming any time back in Bali, this hotel is on my top list!

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel itself is hidden out behind all the rice fields and off the main road. It’s about 1.5hr drive from Bali airport.

We stayed in the garden suite and it was fantastic! The room was cool, bed was huge and had a mosquito net although we didn’t feel we needed to use it. The bathroom was outdoors and splendid.

Sadly the pool was under treatment so we couldn’t use it when we were there but we had enough to do in Ubud itself. If you want dropping off in the centre it’s about 80,000Rp one way. The hotel uses a private company and you can whatsapp them anytime when you want picking up/dropping off.

The staff itself were all fantastic. Dode (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) was especially helpful on helping us arrange our early transfer to catch the ferry to Gili Islands. As we were checking out really early he also arranged the kitchen staff to prepare us a breakfast box. Very nice touch.

Wish we could have stayed for another mornings breakfast as it was presented amazingly and tasted delicious. We had the breakfast bowls. Very filling.

All in all, fantastic little hidden gem outside of Ubud. Well worth the stay for peace and quiet away from the hustle of the centre.

Our only issue we had was we tried to organise an airport pickup and sent them several emails but with no replies. So we had to get our own taxi when we arrived of which the taxi driver got lost. Would have been great if the hotel responded to emails through booking.com. That is our only feedback.

This hotel was so good we stayed there twice this year and recommended it to friends who have also been pleasantly surprised. The setting and gardens are beautiful with an infinity pool overlooking the river ravine with the Maya hotel lights a picture in the evenings. The staff are friendly and the food, although a limited menu, is delicious. The rooms and bedding is luxuriant for a small hotel. It's easy to get a car into Ubud in less than ten minutes, or wherever you want to go, as many of the villagers who are drivers can turn up soon after a call from the front desk. It has a rural feel and the villages is lovely to explore, other guest s do jogging in the rice fields, climb up and down 200 steps to the river or do yoga in one of two yoga studios with dream views. My preference was swimming laps as the pool is long enough. Love the place, love the people!

Great place to stay if you’re looking for complete isolation in a heavenly location.

Amazing, friendly staff on ground.
Shout out to all the cooks and drivers : Ari , Coco and Dewa.

Booked the hotel via Book Yoga retreats . Retreat was not as planned according to itinerary nor program. Very disappointing.
Program promised Meditation & Healing - none of that. Meditation was composed of silent sessions mostly. There was no Healer available upon request contrary to what was promised. The one healing session was a random , coffee-cup reader.

Sunrise and Sunset yoga were good. Professional Yoga Instructor. Great flow and tailored sessions. For the meditation part, more proficient English would be required to affect the overall experience.

Just disappointing not to have the complete program delivered according to expectation.

So many places outside for yoga, healing and meditation you can go to in Ubud. Very cheap
Prices too.

Great food. Accommodated my VEGAN requests very efficiently. Thank you to the cooks and staff on ground.

Last but not least, organisers were not very open to communication nor were very nice about my complaints. Would have affected the overall experience.

Conclusion :

If you are looking for a quiet, place , 20 mins from centre then go for it.
Do not book a Retreat Package unless you are a complete beginner in the world of Yoga, Meditation & not too fussed about the Healing aspect of the program.

I’m reviewing considering the high price I paid:

1) Staff is very nice, but speaks poor English, and it is quite disorganized
2) Maintenance is limited. The pool is very dirty. The chairs around the pool are rotten. The staircase to get in the room is ugly (see photos). Any pillow around hasn’t been washed in a while. No toilet paper in the room.
3) Food is below average. At breakfast there’s no buffet. You can pick 3 menus, where even getting yoghurt is a challenge and not part of the options. Dinner has limited choice, very slow execution, and average quality.
4) Location is nice in the jungle, but it’s a 15’ drive to the village on steep roads. You need 10$ for a cab per ride (a lot!) or you have rent a scooter, but I’d not do that if you are not experienced in driving - this is not Greece.

We are moving on to a much cheaper solution where I get same service in a closer location. I’d pay here max 130USD.

The view is absolutely lovely. The room is also spacious. If you're afraid of bugs though, this might not be the hotel for you. If you want the full experience being in nature, then yes- Pandora all the way. The food was also really good and the hotel staff members were all very friendly.

Hi, I am afraid your question was not addressed to the hotel, but to me. If you were already in touch with The Pandora staff I am sure they have something arrange for you already as we were collected from a hotel in Legian ( closed to Seminyak ) and back to airport afterwards. If you didn’t contact the hotel in regards to your transfers I will recommend to do so. Have a brilliant time in Bali!
