We opted for the Deluxe Villa with a sharing pool. This is a two storeyed villa with a traditional gate, separating it from the other villas and common areas. This is one of four villas that are around a sharing pool. Very convenient as you can step right out of the pool into your villa. It is also very close...

The Sungu resort and Spa hotel is a lovely place located very close to Ubud but in a very quite area. A shuttle is proposed whenever you need to go downtown. Just behind the hotel, the rice fields provide peace, beautiful and restful views. The rooms are very nice and comfortable ; breakfast is excellent as well as the meals...

We stayed here for 2 nights with our 2 children aged 3 and 7 after a few hectic days in Kuta and, as others have said, it is definitely a haven of peace and tranquility. Deluxe bungalow by the pool was beautiful and spotless. Huge outdoor bathroom. Stunning pool, enjoyed afternoon tea round it with some other families. Staff very...

The Sungu is a lovely hotel with separate bungalows in a landscaped tropical garden. Because the hotel is set about 10 minutes drive outside the noisy and crowded city center, it is a haven of tranquility and beauty. The lovely staff gets to know the guest well and makes you feel welcome. Without exception, they have a pleasant and helpful...

Set away from the bustle of Ubud main streets. The Sungu was a peaceful haven. The Staff were extremely welcoming yet it felt very private and personal at the same time. Upon arrival we were upgraded from the basic room to one near the private pool (for use of on 4 Villas). We had a complimentary 30 minute massage (basic...

The rooms are quite big with beautiful 'mosquito-net' beds. The best thing about this place is tho the outdoor bathrooms. The bathtub is sunken in the floor and you can see the stars while showering/bathing. Menu is alright, pool is alright (they have 2) Staff is also alright. If you stay here, rent a motorbike for quick and cheep transportation...

We stayed at this resort for 5 days during our honeymoon and really enjoyed it even though we had the so called "Bali belly" and me a bigger leg injury. This injury was caused because I fell into a hole on the side walk that was not marked or secured- so always take a closer look where you are walking....

This is a lovely little hotel. We were in one of the 2 storey 'houses' which was ideal for the 4 of us and only a few steps from the larger pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time. The outdoor bathroom was a nice touch but you do get to share it with frogs and other creatures....

The plus with the Sungu is lovely rooms! Really, really liked the room with the private pool. Breakfast is good. Free 1 hour rice paddy walk and the free 30 minutes massage was nice. Plus, the bus to town is easy (mind you, it wasn't busy when we were there - so we had the shuttle always available). Nice staff....
