Stayed nearby and thought beachfront restaurant would be great for dinner. Wrong! While the beer was cold, menu very limited. Had mediocre chicken curry and rice. Very slow service. Hardly anyone else eating, which probably means word is out. Too bad, because could be fantastic. New management needed!

We have been to Alits 3 times now. (introduced by friends who have been going there for 20 years) Each time has been a culture shock for the first couple of days and then as we've relaxed into it, we have grown to love it there. Initial impression is shock horror but all 3 rooms we have had have been...

I stayed here for three nights as I arrived at night I could not get a very good look around. My villa was comfortable but a little bit old and tired and as the new day dawned it became apparent that the rest of the hotel fell in to the same category. But I was comfortable and the staff were...

I've been staying at Alit's for over 20 years and always loved returning. I would reconnect with the staff, settle into my cottage, view the moon over the water and the splendid sunrises over Mt Agung and enjoy breakfast by the beach. But no more. (Most of) the staff and a few cottages remain, but so much has changed! Most...

Just returned from another long stay in Alits and it is just as good as before, for those who wnat a beach side experience with a true local flavour. This is a family run business so has a home style feel to it and the dining room staff are very experienced and helpful. The views from this hotel are absolutely...

This bungalow was less than what we expected but still a great stay. The staff is super friendly and very helpful finding activities and drivers in the area, and the included breakfast (if you opt for it) is delicious. (Eggs, bacon, fruit, fried rice/noodles, banana pancakes, breakfast salads, yogurt, coffee/tea) The place is a little old, and of course as...

Judging from its website and printed in-room materials, Alit's seems to enjoy celebrating its history. Me too. In 1992, my then girlfriend (now wife of 20 years) and I took our very first international vacation together to Bali, staying at Alit's Beach Bungalows in Sanur. There were 36 (it didn't seem that many amongst all the jungle flora) cozy thatched-roof...

THis is not for the luxury seeking tourist but rather for those who want to experience Bali at a local level. The location is magnificent and local life happens around and in the hotel. The staff who have been there for a while are magnificent and talking to them opens up an understanding of Balinese life that no amount of...

“The bungalows are our only experience, they have apartment style rooms as well that are more modern and trendy looking, with kitchen options for long stays. We would not recommend room 48 (weak toilet, small porch, twin beds) and would recommend room 9 (our friend's bungalow which had a good working toilet, a large porch, and a big double bed.)”
