Great place to stay. Price - quality is right. Very friendly staff. Good wifi. Yes it is not a modern hotel. (For those who want and expert that, please search for another hotel. )Luckily as it breaths that warm Asian atmosphere we were looking for. Mostly it is a quiet place, (the first days some of the visitors seemed to think they own the place and bother others with loud music and loud communication. ) Anyway our experience is far above average and will return!

Went here a few times as I previously stayed at this hotel in 1999 and 2000. Was chucked out by the staff for sitting at the pool as not a resident at the time. Disgusting behaviour by the staff no manners at all. Do not stay at this hotel if staying in Sanur.

I traveled all over Bali, and I stayed in multiple hotels. I even stayed in the five star Putri Bali. Through all that, I still loved Bumas the most out of all of them. The best part about the hotel is how quiet it is. The landscaping is also beautiful. Although there is no direct beach access (you have to cross only one street to get to the beach), the trees, lovely pools, and statues make one feel relaxed. The people there are very friendly. Since the hotel is pretty small, they always greet you when you leave and when you enter. The rooms are kept pretty clean, and since Bali is warm for many people, the air conditioning was much appreciated. The breakfast in the morning is the same every morning, but it is yummy nontheless. If you are looking for extreme fru-fru luxury, don't come here, but if you something want nice, simple, and friendly (and not too expensive), I would whole-heartedly recommend this place.

After 5 emails not replied to one should have been wary. I had asked for a ground floor room if possible due to weak leg muscles but was accomadated on the first floor even though tthe hotel was less than half full. My disappointment didnt stop there The pool we overlooked was green not fit to swim in. No one did. We asked for a fridge one was put into the room with rusted seal and frame NO KETTLE Whats a girl like without her early coffee Breakfast was very very average with no change whilst we were there Internet very weak Bath mat only changed once in 5 days Used cups left for days at the bottom of the stairs NOT MINE as I never had any On the whole totally below par

I'm gonna start with few good things. The rooms are so big, the gardens are lovely and also clean swimming pool. The room was also clean. The location is great.

The beds and pillows are so hard, the WiFi connection is so weak, not even enough to send messages by WhatsApp.
The lights on my rooms wasn't working, just 1 of 4. No light outside. The room was so dark.
In my opinion is not a good place for young people. Was just old people there fighting to get the best sun bed, they have their own spots and if you sit in one they will kick you out saying that the sunbed belong to another couple.
Breakfast didn't offer that much of things. Orange juice, coffee, tea, bread, rice and noodles and few fresh fruit.

Bumas Hotel Saur Bali
28th August 2005
Have just returned from my first trip to Bali. I am a lone traveller but the Bumas is a Balinese style family run hotel, the staff were charming - nothing was too much trouble, the rooms are very well kept - lovely gardens and both pools although small were adequate. It is also in a central position and within a few minutes you find the main street with an abundance of good restaurants and shops. I am a lone traveller but never felt alone as the Balinese people convey so much warmth and charm. If you intend to visit Bali and are looking for a small hotel with a family atmosphere please consider staying at the Bumas - I will certainly go back to Bali and will once again enjoy another stay at this charming small hotel. I travelled with Kuoni arriving on 12th August - 27th August

having stayed at this hotel from 3/11/11 till 24/11/11 i can only state the truth.
The management and staff are always on hand to assist at any time of day or night.
i really dont understand some of the reviews i have read as the title states you get what you pay for,
ok rooms are basic but are of a great size cleaned every day ,the linen is not truly white but clean, breakfast is basic ( but you can take your own) staff more than happy to cook eggs of any choice you would like.i sat at the breakfast area many mornings and was not rushed quite the opposite i could eat and drink as much as i liked. i would always reccomend a fridge to be placed in your room for the period of your stay. although i did meet 2 english ladies that insisted on taking the sun lounge covers and using 2 instead of 1 this obviously led to a shortage for other users(im english iwas not to pleased about this Shame on them)
ALL IN ALL I WOULD STAY HER AGAIN. FINAL STATEMENT IF YOU ARE GOING TO STAY HERE" EKA "THE MANAGER IS ONE OF THE MOST HELPULL I HAVE EVER COME ACCROSS ON THIS BEAUTIFULL ISLAND. enjoy its well worth it great value basic but a great place to stay and very central.

This small hotel is amazing. A great find for the price. The staff is friendly, room was clean and I could not complain for the two small size yet beautiful pools either. Although this hotel doesn't have a beach front view, the beach is only a couple of blocks away. Wonderful hotel! I'd recommend it.

We stayed at The Bumas hotel in Sanur for 3 weeks in Aug/Sept 2014. The hotel is in a very good location, a short walk to the beach and very close to local shops and restaurants. The hotel staff were really friendly and efficient, our room was thoroughly cleaned and fresh towels were left every day. We had booked a Junior Suite and it was really worth the extra money as it was much bigger than the standard rooms. There are two great pools at this hotel, very often when I went to the pool in the afternoons I was the only one there. It was almost like having a lovely large private pool!!

We used a driver to go out and about. There are lots of taxi drivers in the Main Street who do really good deals. I'd recommend going to the rice fields, Tanah Lot, other temples, the volcano, the coffee plantation. The scenery on the island is wonderful.

One warning, please use an official money changer. We did, however on one occasion we thought we'd try a money exchange in the back of a shop. Luckily we were aware of the scam and we demanded our money back, but the guy tried very hard to confuse us by repeatedly counting the money.

Bali is beautiful and if you book The Bumas Hotel I'm sure you'll be very happy. If you like 4 or 5 star accommodation then maybe The Bumas isn't for you, but if you do like small, friendly, comfortable hotels in a great location then go for this one!

we stayed at bumas end of nov for 2 weeks and we both loved it.... yes its 3 star but was perfect for us it was quiet and peaceful, the room was fine and right by the pool we had no problems gettin a sun bed. we was half bored but only really need the b & b cos there are so many lovely bars and resturants just at the end of the street...but the food at the hotel was fine. The only little thing that would help at the hotel would be a bar of some sort !!! they do sell water cola and bottled beer but a little bar would of made it better. The shops are 2 minutes walk from the hotel same with all the bars we loved trying them and some of the local small resturants were fantastic, i loved the food !! It was so relaxing there would go back to bali, and stay at the bumas, mite not be everyones cup of tea but i loved it .....
