This place is just magical. the rooms are all massive and beautiful. The poolside bungalows have an indoor and an outdoor shower. Pool area is so nice, big pool, verandah with comfy chairs to relax facing the pool. Fabulous breakfast, cooked plus bread, fruits, juice, coffee, order the night before with your preferred time. Beach Access is straight across the lovely lawn through the gate and your on the beach footpath. For going out for shopping and meals, better to order grab to Pantai Karang Beach on Jalan Pantai Karang, then walk through the gate to the beach path go left and turn left onto the road behind the markets next door, wait there. Easier than navigating the windy roads in the private estate to get to the main gate. Grab from airport was 250,000Rp and going back to the airport at 4am was 110,000Rp. Staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Will be back again!

Avillion Villa Cinta review The short review – enormous rooms and great location right on the beach, although hard to find. Minimal but sweet staff. I’d probably stay again as it is good value if you can get the upstairs room overlooking the beach. Great spot for a wedding, or a gathering of family / friends. The long review I’ve often checked out Villa Cinta while I’ve been in Sanur and this time we were with friends who wanted to stay right on the beach, so I was pleased to find the price was quite reasonable for beachfront. I booked through Agoda and when I sent through a few questions, it took them quite a while to respond. I finally tried using the direct email on their website and got an answer. Then I went into my booking a few months later and found they’d changed the room type from Seaview to Gardenview. I sent a panicked query to them and a few days later they reassured me that because they’d had few negative reviews about one of the seaview rooms not really having a seaview, they’d just changed them all to garden view. Seeing as one room does have a rather a good sea view, they should now get some very positive reviews if someone gets it unexpectedly. Getting there It’s hard to find by car – it’s right next to Jalan Pantai Karang but there is no entrance off the street there. I’ll post a picture of some directions but you need to go through the little laneways behind Café Batu Jimbar. Go down the tiny laneway just south of Café Batu Jimbar, with signs saying ‘75A’ and ‘Batu Jimbar Private Residences’. There’s a security boom gate partway down. Some of the lanes are one way and sometimes it looks like there couldn’t possibly be a street there but trust me, keep going. And there is plenty of room to turn a car around when you arrive. When we left, we walked our bags around to the end of Jl Pantai Karang for the cab to pick us up, it was just easier. Location I enjoy Sanur so much more than the west coast. It’s really laid back and generally quiet and has a much more residential feel than the frenetic pace and crowded streets of Legian or Seminyak. Villa Cinta is well situated in the middle, with a wooden gate leading out straight on the beach path. The Batu Jimbar enclave has some very nice villas so you get to have a good stickybeak if you walk up to the main street via the back lanes way. It’s a few minutes walk up Jl Pantai Karang to the main street. I happen to think this part of Sanur is the best – others will disagree but I think that being in the middle like this, it’s got the best access to shops, restaurants and massage places. Staff It’s definitely not a full service hotel – there’s only a few staff and no room service which is fine by me. They are very polite and helpful if you ask but you’re generally left up to your own devices - it actually feels a bit more homely than having people pop out at you all the time. Layout It’s a huge block with a large reception building where breakfast can be served upstairs, only 5 rooms and a 15 metre pool. There are two rooms overlooking the pool (Sayang and Kasih), which looked like they had no common walls except between the bathrooms. There is another standalone room set back a little from the pool looking at the garden (Berahi). Then heading towards the beach, there’s a circular building with two rooms in it, one downstairs (Mesra 1) and one upstairs (Mesra 2). Rooms We stayed first in Mesra 1 and it’s seriously the biggest hotel room I’ve ever had – the bathroom alone is bigger than an entire hotel room I had in London once. It’s clad in marble and has a king-sized bed with four pillows, a lounge and two armchairs plus a full sized desk - and I could still have done a cartwheel across the floor and not hit anything. The bar fridge is a good size. It has (and needs) two air-conditioning units and both are quiet. Then there’s a dressing room leading into the bathroom that has that enormous shower plus a bath and a double vanity. It has no outside sitting area but there is a wooden lounge area across the grass where you could go for drinks if you wanted. It’s quite private, it faces across the lawn away from the other rooms and there are fine curtains for privacy and heavy curtains for light. We also moved to the upstairs room (Mesra 2) for one night, and it is definitely the pick of the bunch. It has a wide verandah with seating and tables, overlooking the sea. It’s obstructed a bit by the trees on the shore (they’ve grown up since some of the photos were taken) but you can still see the water easily and it’s a lovely outlook. The verandah has a couple of seats and a lounge on it and two coffee tables. The room itself is a little smaller than the downstairs room because of the verandah although when I say smaller, it’s still pretty huge. It’s a different layout, with a lounge area with a large bar fridge, a dressing room leading again to a large bathroom with a bath, shower, and toilet and bidet, all divided by marble walls. This room has a gorgeous wooden ceiling and a king-sized bed with four pillows and a writing table and chair. And the best thing is that you look straight out to the sea view while you’re in bed. There are fine curtains for privacy and heavy curtains for light. We got breakfast for free – when I booked I chose not to include breakfast as there are heaps of options around but they gave it to us anyway – I did point this out but the staff said it was included. It was a nice breakfast, not the greatest but by no means the least. We had it on the verandah but you can have it inside your room or upstairs in the reception area. A few niggles These were minor and certainly not anything that would stop me staying here again. The linen was a little marked in places although it seemed clean so I mentioned it when we checked out and the guy said they were trying to find a new laundry. A drying stand would have been handy for putting swimming togs and towels on – there was a bamboo ladder which I made do with but a stand is a lot more practical. There is a free morning yoga class (in Bahasa) that takes place just out the front at 7:30am. They use a loudspeaker which isn’t too loud but would be a bit annoying if you’re a light sleeper. It is most noticeable in the Mesra rooms. On the other hand, it’s great if you want to do yoga. Slow hot water as with so many places in Bali. The pool was very cloudy when we got there but the staff worked on it and by the time we left, it was much clearer. They said it was due to the amount of rain they were having in the wet season. Like a lot of pools in Sanur the water wasn’t very cold but it was refreshing enough. Recommendations Go to Nest for expensive (for Bali) but very good massages, and Alam Shanti opposite the end of Jl Pantai Karang for cheap but good massages. Food - Café Batu Jimbar (on Jl Danu Tamblingan, always good), Wicked Parrot (on Jl Danu Tamblingan, bizarrely they have roasts and plum pudding on the menu; yes I had the pudding – who can resist?) and Sand Beach ( on the beach just north of Jl Pantai Karang – cheapish but probably the best food I had this visit). We had lunch at Griya Santrian (expensive – food was OK but not worth it, particularly compared to Sand Beach). Would I stay here again? Yes. There is a couple of other contenders that looked interesting (Villa Wantilan Putu which isn’t on the beach but looks as beautiful as Villa Cinta, Villa Pantai Karang which is on the beach, a bit more hotel-like and might be a bit quieter but is a bit more expensive, and Peneeda View as a good budget option (with corresponding budget facilities) but if the upstairs Mesra room at Villa Cinta was available, it would probably be the front-runner as it’s such a lovely and unique room, certainly very good value for the price.

The pool is not usable as the water temperature is too warm day or night there is no shade over the pool area, the tiles are slimy and at night the pool is occupied by frogs. The air conditioning in one villa was so cold we had to keep turning off as you cannot regulate temperature the second villa aircon was hot! Breakfast was very basic. These villas are advertised as luxury they are far from it. Staff ogress to a price per night on arrival then presented us with a bill for almost twice the amount on our second night of five! Needless to say we checked out 3 nights early.

I so wanted to love this property. The pool villa room we stayed in was beautiful, all large windows facing the pool and surrounding fish ponds, comfortably air conditioned with a massive bathroom complete with two showers, one indoor, one outdoor, and huge wardrobe spaces for two people to unpack and still have space. Beautiful outdoor private areas to chill out in, either on your balcony or under the two bales, one with a lounge, the other overlooking the ocean and the passing foot traffic.Breakfast served upstairs overlooking the ocean by the beautiful friendly staff was luxury at it's best. But...... unfortunately the downsides actually made us cut our stay down to two nights instead of the paid for three. The fish ponds simply need some flowing pump/water, but because they don't the water looks awful, and on the second morning there was a big dead fish floating about. The pool was pretty disgusting, once again, no sign of a pump/filter working, so greenish brown sludge everywhere, and the temperature was almost boiling point! The TV only had one movie channel, the rest was Indonesian, for the price (and advertised as cable/satelite channels)I expect a better choice, and when I offered to pay to upgrade I was told it was not possible.( I have never come across this before, but I shouldn't have had to even ask to pay extra!)In the end,we checked out and went to a budget hotel across the road with a cold pool and a massive TV selection! I think management need to spend a bit of money on this establishment. (The staff were absolutely lovely)

Dear Mr. Andie, We are terribly sorry on the inconvenience happened, herewith our clarification below, - Yes our water pond pump machine was burn and we are in plan to get the replacement, however since the pump out of order the water turn become awful. - On the Swimming pool there was two pump machine filtering and circulate the water, The guest may see the filter point where the water in and out located on the bottom of the pool so that there was no sign of filter like other common swimming pool which vae bubbling pont. We realized the temperature is warm because the whole pool are exposed to the sunlight from 9 am -5 pm beside. For the TV, we currently had replace the package provided by the operator. Once again thank you for bringing this matter to our attention for the improvement required. Regards, Ketut

To reach our villa, we passed a little lane of lush greenery and shady trees which somehow stirred our excitement on what we are about to experience. Yes!Greeted with smiling faces , fresh juices and cold towels upon arrival, we were led to our villa after a short registration. The place is so stunning that we forgot how tired we were after the many days in Bali. The serenity is surreal, though the beach is just right behind the back door of the villa. We took a bicycle ride along the beach(provided on complimentary by the villa) and took many beautiful pictures of the villa and the beach. Restaurants are located 5 minutes walk away and there are plentiful of choices . We were woken the next day by chirping birds and had breakfast at a veranda the next day and two little squirrels running along a tree looked like they wanted to share it with us. I guess, a few more days here and we would have forgotten about the hectic lifestyle outside where we came from.Your are one with nature here, the trees, the plants, the beautiful lawn and the sea. We love the pool, the privacy, the serene surroundings ,the pillows and most of all, the impeccable hospitality rendered to us from Sutapa and the team. There is only one thing my family and I wished when we left with a heavy heart, we will come see you all again...

Absolutely love this place!! The best location in Sanur! I have recommended this place to my friends and family!! The villa is ideal for families or large groups, although, I recently stayed here with my husband (as a couple) and we loved it! The breakfast was delicious and fresh and you can order food during the day around the pool if you are staying in. We stayed in the Mesra 2 Villa (beachfront villa), which was amazing, however we had a look at the pool front villas and they looked just as good. We were worried that the location on the beach would not be great but it was actually really good (probably the best beach location in Sanur). We were originally thinking of staying at the Regent but after walking down to that hotel we were glad we chose to stay at Villa Cinta (it is much nicer and far less pricy!!). We loved the staff at the villa – they were excellent! The facilities are also excellent. We will definitely return again next year with friends and family.
