Puri Santrian Hotel is often celebrated for its spacious rooms and tranquil atmosphere, with a traditional charm that many guests adore. While some travelers find the room decor outdated and have mixed feelings about cleanliness and comfort, the hotel's lush gardens and multiple pools are popular features. The location is a hit for its serene beach proximity and easy access to local culture. However, opinions on value and service vary, with some mentioning reasonable prices and others pointing out costly extras and occasional slow service.

We are frequent long term visitors to the Puri Santrian, but this time it's been exactly a year since our last visit.

As always, we reached out directly to the Puri Santrian for the best rate they could offer us as loyal guests. Again as always, we were rewarded with a good rate for premier deluxe room 350 with breakfast.

Check in was a quick, efficient affair and we were greeted warmly by the staff, many of whom we recognised from past visits. We were made to feel as if we were the guests they had been waiting to welcome all day - which of course is not true. When we got to our room there was a big bouquet of flowers, a Welcome Home cake and fresh fruit.

All the staff we've ever met at this hotel (many of whom wear traditional Balinese clothing; this is a Balinese owned hotel) are friendly, professional.

Linen is crisp, newish and pillow replacement is surely in the near future. Everything works and is in good order.

The gardens are lush and green. There are three pools and the hotel is on the beachfront.

The breakfast this time was not up to the Puri Santrian's usual standard, more limited choices. Perhaps low season occupancy rates have made the usual vast array not feasable for a brief time.

On our return to Perth we will be rebooking this wonderful hotel, staffed by so many really special people.

It was our first time in Bali and our two weeks stay did not disappoint us. In the past few years we have opted for "all inclusive" at various resorts flying east of Dubai. We found Bali to be different - there are many good places to eat in the vicinity of the hotel and prices are low due to the good exchange rate.

The room was very comfortable with most of the essentials, particularly cold fridge, large digital safe, and plenty of storage space. Only soft drinks were supplied in the fridge at a room service cost.

We had booked a premier deluxe room, 348, on the top floor of a block overlooking some trees and a pool reserved for premier deluxe guests.

Evening entertainment was limited and only in the evenings - usually a singer / musician in the beach side open restaurant area.

The hotel is on the beach front, with easy walking access west and east. East takes you to the newish shopping mall which houses a number of upmarket shops and restaurants. It's an approx. 30 mins walk keeping to the coastline which is easier than by going along the main road.

Service in and around the main hotel buildings was good. Quality of the food was good and not overpriced. There was a 15% discount for using the hotel's restaurant on the main road. We found the food there to be the best we found during our stay (with the Jepun who also deserves a mention. I'll review that later.)

Thank you to the Puri Santrian, management and staff. It was a great holiday for us!

We were last in Sanur at least a decade ago so we expected to see change. While Sanur is a much quieter version of Seminyak, the vibe is still very chilled. More restaurants have popped up in the main strip giving us a much better choice of cuisine than the few on offer a decade ago. You also don’t get propositioned every few steps as shopkeepers jostle to sell you their products. We expect to see this sort of thing in Bali but Sanur is much more sedate than Legian. We last stayed at the Maya resort but this time we chose a different part of Sanur. Our travel agent suggested the Puri Santrian, also in the same stretch of beach as Maya but about a 30 minute walk away. We were very pleasantly surprised with the surroundings and the lush greenery and foliage. The grounds were immaculate and we were lucky to have been upgraded into a premier deluxe room with exclusive access to a very nice pool just metres from our doorstep. There were several other pools in the resort for families with kids but having access to this pool made us feel a little bit special. Our room was also bigger than the standard on offer so we had more than enough space to swing a large cat, not that we saw any. The only downside, was that the big king size bed was reaching the end of its useful life and the mattress should have been retired months ago. Having said that, it did not detract from the beauty of the resort. Breakfasts were included in our package and the buffet selection was pretty good. Specialist coffees came as an extra but the standard black or white filtered coffee was included. We also had daily afternoon teas included in our deal, which was another pleasant surprise. In all we enjoying our Puri Santrian experience and would happily recommend the resort. Nothing was too much trouble and staff were always pleasant and accommodating. If you’re looking for a quieter version of Bali where you can ride your hired scooter with a lower risk of getting knocked off, then Sanur is the go.

Stayed 5 nights as a solo traveller. First impressions arriving late at night was a peaceful oasis, with the air conditioned premier club room feeling blissfully cool. The room was large, well appointed but somewhat dated looking. Unfortunately, the mosquitoes in the room prevented me from having a good nights sleep - an electronic repellant would have been appreciated and would have worked well.
Breakfast the next day sadly was disappointing. Límited options for vegans and vegetarians. I chose to eat breakfast outside the resort after the first day - far better options elsewhere!
There was a tour desk of sorts but this was rarely staffed.
The pool areas were clean
and generallywell maintained. The swim up bar though had some strange hours - although the closing is advertised as 6 pm, on two occasions the bartenders said that they’d be closing the bar in 5 mins - and
it wasn’t even 5:30pm yet. On a number of occasions the deck chairs were reserved by other guests despite notices that after 30 minutes they’d be cleared.

The reason I give such a low rating is that despite staying a number of nights, no one to ask how my stay was. The only person that consistently said hello was the kind guard at the front gate, who’d see me walk in and out a few
times a day. It wasn’t a particularly busy time of year going by conversations I had with other locals in shops, restaurants etc in Sanur. When I asked for a hanging rack to hang up wet swimmers, I was told that it would depend on availability - shouldn’t this be a standard inclusion in a seemingly 5 star resort? The location in the southern end of sanur was nice - quiet and chilled out. But if you want to be closer to more restaurants or shops, consider staying elsewhere.

Just returned from a 12 night stay. Hotel is at the quieter end of Sanur but very easy to get around and we loved it.
The hotel lived up the expectations. We had a Club room which also had access to an additional pool and offered a daily afternoon tea, nice treat!
The room had everything we needed, a small issue with our shower was resolved immediately.
All public areas and pools were well designed and clean.
Breakfast was included and the buffet selection was extensive, with eggs and other specialties made to order.
We ate at both restaurants, preferred the beach one which had live evening
entertainment.
All staff we encountered were friendly and efficient, everyone wanted to make your stay special
Some improvements were taking place but there was great care taken not to impact anyones stay.

This is our second visit to the Puri Santrian. It is located in Sanur and is in a good location with a beach front as well as a street front. The property is extensive. We were staying in the Santrian Club which has its own pool area for the exclusive use of Club guests. Stayed on the top floor which is good. Note that there’s no lifts in this property so the bags were carried by the porter. Room is spacious with a 4 posted bed with mosquito nets. Separate bathroom area and vanity. Wifi however only works in the room we had to roam on our data in the rest of the property. Our package included daily breakfast and afternoon tea as well as one lunch at the beach club which was great value. Some of the activities that we partook included morning yoga and kayaking. There are bikes available for hire and there’s plenty of beachfront walking available. In all a pleasant property with attentive staff and a very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended

Our return to Bali after 2 1/2 years couldn't have been better thanks to the Puri Santrian resort.

We were in Santrian Club room for the week which was large, comfortable, quiet, with a bathtub, and has access to a private pool area just for Club guests. We never had a problem finding a sun lounge there, or at any of the other 3 pools.

Our package included an American breakfast which was a pretty good buffet, not much in the way of cereals, and the tea and coffee were pretty average, but we enjoyed the fresh fruit, made to order egg and pancakes, and the nasi goreng and mee goreng were also tasty.

Every weekday morning we enjoyed the free yoga class with Candi, who tailored the yoga to our limitations and made it very enjoyable.

We also had complimentary afternoon tea available between 3pm and 5pm, with delicious hot snacks and cakes every day, unfortunately with the same bad tea and coffee.

The espresso coffee available at extra cost was quite good, we enjoyed a couple of lattes poolside. Beers and cocktails are a little expensive compared to bars and warungs outside the resort, but not outrageous.

The resort grounds are just wonderful, very green and meticulously maintained, as are the 4 pool areas and especially the beach. The man maintaining the beach every day did a fantastic job cleaning up the morning rubbish and sea grass that washed up in the high tides.

We were also very fortunate to be able to visit the hotel owners house compound in the north of Sanur on Saturday morning, escorted by Niki from resort reception and she did a great job explaining the compound layout, the temples and the rituals being performed. This was a highlight for us, thanks Niki.

We definitely recommend Puri Santrian, the resort is lovely, and the location is great right on the beach within easy walking distance of many cafes and warungs on the beach path and the road.

What a fabulous resort! Three pools to choose from (plus a premium private guest pool), located on the beach (not a surf location), great buffet / restaurant and brilliant yoga. It's the perfect location for a relaxing break. Plenty of cafes (warungs) on the street and and along the beach, with a variety of retail shopping experiences. Careful with your room as the air-conditioner works hard - we changed rooms due to a noisy one. We preferred a ground level room rather than third floor and the staff changed our room happily. This time of the year was too humid for this reviewer however so I would go again mid-year, rather than later in the year.

Just returned from Puri Santrian. Service attitude of staff is excellent. Always looking out if you needed help. Even the cleaners would greet you.Housekeeping response is quick and courteous. Very Balinese style. If you love a traditional setup, you will love it, but if you prefer the international hotel style, this is not the place. Location is top class if you want a good variety of food as the whole street just outside is full of different restaurants. Would recommend the 3 Monkeys restaurant 6 mins cab ride away. Really good stuff at very very reasonable price.
Some small letups of the hotel. Room wifi is very poor, cannot send out the shortest video. Need hotel charging adaptor to charge the phone as the socket is too unique. Go to the hotel lobby if you want to send videos to your friends. The wifi speed there is very okay. Breakfast is very tasteless and average, but considering the room rate, nothing to complain about. It is the Balinese's warmness and politeness that make Bali such a beautiful place to have a holiday in. Cab ride Gojek is easily available everywhere and it is very cheap relative to many countries. Unless you dont like a traditionally designed Balinese style or you need a good wifi badly, Puri Santrian is quite a good choice.

Definitely would recommend Puri Santrian . All positive and no negatives.
We stayed in the Deluxe rooms on the ground floor with private pool for deluxe guests only . The pool is amazing . Towels are supplied . Rooms are clean and well equipped. Fresh linen and water every day. Staff are wonderful. Breakfast was plentiful and lots of choices and different areas to eat in the morning. The spa is really nice with great staff and treatments.
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The food is really good and reasonably priced. Seafood night at the hotel is also great and I would highly recommend.
There are many restaurants on the street and they are all really good. Money changer across the road is good to use to change money they also do laundry which we did use and we’re not disappointed.
It was my husbands birthday and they organised a cake and the staff and entertainment for that night sang happy birthday which made it special.
It was Lovely experience and holiday we will definitely be back for our next holiday in Bali.

I stayed in the Premier room and it was great. Only thing won't suit some people is that they are dark. But big and well appointed. In reality there are 4 pools that all guests can get to.Even as a solo adult I preferred the ambience round the main pool.
