Fantastic place to stay.
We booked 10 nights but only stayed 9 due to Qatar airways delay at Heathrow meaning it took 48 hours to get to Bali.
We booked a one bedroom villa with pool for the stay and had booked a 2 bedroom villa for the last night as we were leaving at 1am .
One bedroom villa is great, pool a little small if you wanted the swim but does the job as the main pool is just outside the villa by the bar.
Yes could do with updating a bit but lovely and clean.
Room is big with a huge outdoor area including kitchen and sofa area.
The 2 bedroom villa has a much bigger pool. If you can afford it book it
Housekeeping does an excellent job every day with a smile and nothing is too much.
We had breakfast every morning a call to reception to order then delivered promptly and again with a smile.
Room service for dinner or lunch is great and very reasonably priced.
Villas are in a quiet area , a 10 minute stroll to the beach or to the shops and restaurants.
There is a great supermarket just a couple of minutes down the road for just about anything and really cheap.
Would recommend the Sagara ( also known as Kamuela on travel republic) if you’re thinking of Bali

I wanted to wait a few days after returning home from our stay to write this - I wanted to make sure what I wrote was a true reflection and not written in haste!
Firstly and most importantly our time at The Sagara Villas and Suites would not have been the same without Putu! Putu works incredibly hard at ensuring all visitors to the poolside bar are made to feel welcome. She is without a doubt THE BEST ASSET that this resort has! Without her, it is obvious that the service you receive would not be of the same professional standard. She is simply wonderful and we cannot praise her enough for going over, above and beyond her role at the resort.
I have given this resort 4 out of 5 purely because of Putu - without her it would have been 3!
Now for the villas! The villas are in a great spot! They are positioned well for various shops, bars, restaurants and Sanur Beach! They are all easily walkable which made exploring Sanur exceptionally easy!
However, when we arrived at Villa One we had a great first impression! The Villa is a good size with its own plunge pool and easy access to the main pool. This access to the main pool was a god send because 4 days into our holiday our private pool became dirty and unusable! You could not see the bottom!
We reported this to reception and waited several hours for maintenance to even come and look at it - it then took 2 days to fix and therefore it was not safe to use for the rest our time at the Sagara! Disappointed is an understatement!
On closer inspection the Villa looks tired and needs some urgent TLC I would also say that the cleaning is not great either! The floors were dirty, tables smeary and sinks were left with a residue! These are just a few observations that I made during our 7 days in Sanur!
Please do not get me wrong, the Villa was ‘cleaned’ daily but I’m not really sure what was carried out! In comparison to the suite that we had for a day after booking a late check out, it was obvious that all the care and attention is placed on these suites! It was spotless and very modern. However, there was no window or outside space to enjoy which I would say is essential if you’re staying there for a few days or more!
Having said this, there are positives:
• Putu you are wonderful we loved talking with you every day and getting to know you a little more! You make the Sagara and they are lucky to have you.
• The staff in general are friendly and welcoming
• The location is perfect to explore Sanur on foot and taxis are easy to find if you want to go further afield
• The grounds that the resort is positioned in are beautiful! They are well cared for, lush, green and incredibly tranquil!

I will always be very grateful to this property and recommend that friends and family stay here. I say this because we had booked originally pre covid and whilst we had prepaid (non refundable, booking.com) they honoured accommodation and credits very kindly 3 years on. We stayed in a one bedroom pool villa which was beautiful with a large and comfy bed. The outside covered lounge and kitchen were huge and spacious, and the private morning swims in the pool just gorgeous. We mostly had breakfast (included in rates) delivered to our villa so could enjoy the ambiance and totally relax into the day. The generous amount of fresh fruit and squeezed juice really appreciated. The main pool and attached bar serves a variety of food, drinks, cocktails all day long and we tried a variety of dishes which were all very nice and well priced compared to NZ.
The villas are a very short walk to the beach, nearby supermarket, and safer money changers such as BMC.We took the villa bikes out a couple of times (10k total for 2 bikes) and rode along the beach pathway which was lots of fun. The lasting memory for me will be the kindness of all the staff who make a point of calling you by name and interacting with genuine kindness. Special thanks to Putu and especially to Sri whose kindness and attention to detail was superb.
The only reason I have held back on 5/5 was because of sleep quality due to the following. We had Villa 1 which was right alongside the main pool area and hence you hear bar/pool noise at night and early morning staff setup talk/ voices etc. Also on the pool side in our bedroom was a large glass bay window which only had light blinds which did nothing to block the light. We tried hanging blankets etc with limited success. This could be easily remedied with proper curtains and there seemed to be a management awareness of the issue. For this I recommend not having Villa 1 as none of the others have these issues. Overall a memorable 5 nights and would happily support Sagara again.

Just stayed 4 nights in Villa 1 - 1 bedroom with private pool and after travelling in Sanur for many years thought we would give Sagara a go. After being closed up for a few years the hotel group could have employed the staff a little earlier to give the villa a good clean up. The pink padded bed head is stained, the glass doors in the bathroom need a good scrub and the lounge cushions are grotty. There is no microwave or toaster in the kitchen, you only get 2 tea cups, 2 dinner plates. A few plastic bowls for chips or nuts won’t go a stray. The gate needs attention as you need to push or pull with all your strength to open or close. The main door into the bedroom won’t stayed closed so you have to leave the key in the door and continue to lock it.
One night I had to go to reception to ask if they could do something about a group of people being very loud around the bar area at pool at midnight , we couldn’t sleep as they were so loud- I’m pretty sure the ladies in the group might have been professional ladies.
The room has a DVD player but there are no dvds at reception so you are stuck with 2 English channels - 1 being ABC news.
The staff are friendly and 6 staff come in everyday to clean , 10 minutes and all done.
I certainly won’t rate this villa as 8.2 from bookings.com and it’s certainly not 250 metres from the beach.
I did get a great rate for my booking $90 a night , certainly wouldn’t have wanted to pay anymore than that!

We stayed at Sagara Villas and Suites for 2 weeks in a 1 bedroom villa which was just perfect, fresh hot and cold water for drinking, situated in beautiful grounds near an amazing shared pool. Staff are wonderful, breakfast was really nice, freshly squeezed juice was so refreshing and a good choice, we ate at Hanoi and Sagara which was lovely and fresh and there are many lovely restaurants within easy walking distance. The beach is a 10 minute walk and you can pick up a driver on the main road Jl Cemera for any tours you want. A perfect base and accommodation to visit beautiful Bali, we enjoyed our visit so much at Sagara we have booked to stay again.
Thank you Sagara you made our holiday for our 30th wedding anniversary all the more special.

We spent a total of 3 weeks here and booked a pool villa. We also had breakfast here most of the time. It is so relaxed and secluded. You have complete peace and quiet.
The breakfast is a la carte, you have to like that. But you can buy anything you might need in the nearby supermarket. The kitchen is not that well equipped but you can always ask if you need something or buy it at "Arta Sedana". The fridge is very large, cools perfectly and even has a freezer compartment. The villas have a glass bay window which unfortunately cannot be darkened well. The air conditioning does not blow directly onto the bed, which we found very pleasant. I recommend Villa 3 unless you want a lot of natural shade, in which case Villa 1 is better suited, which is directly opposite the main pool and restaurant. I do not recommend Villa 7, which is visible from the suites, very small, extremely shady and dark. The further back the villa is, the quieter it is, as the bar opposite plays live music every evening and the hotel restaurant is also very busy in the evenings. If that bothers you, you should definitely not take Villa 1 or 7.
We had forgotten to book a late checkout, so on the day of departure we moved to a suite on the ground floor. I definitely do not recommend this one: it smells musty and there are no windows. The suites on the 1st floor have been renovated and have natural light.
We really enjoyed our stay here and can definitely recommend the hotel.

We stayed at Sagara in December in a private one bedroom villa and it was amazing! Sagar is in a great location in central Sanur, with the beach and eateries all within easy walking distance. The villa is huge - a spacious bedroom, bathroom (with a bath), private pool plus a large outdoor undercover area with seating and kitchen facilities. You also have the added bonus of a hotel situation, so there is also the beautiful main pool, bar, restaurant etc. This is our new favourite place to stay in Sanur and we will definitely be back.

The hotel was beautiful and always kept clean and presentable throughout the day this was also the case for the room. The room was spacious with a really good sized bed for a couple, however not the comfiest. The room was cleaned daily and the hotel also provided an in-tucking of the bedsheets service in the evening which was a lovely touch to come back to each night. Breakfast was lovely and there’s lots of options available.

We stayed firstly in a 1 bedroom villa for 4 nights and then when flight cancelled we stayed in a suite for a night .
The villa had been refurbished quite recently and was lovely ! Private with high walls around each villa with a very clean pool , nice bed linen and good quality towels . Large fridge , toaster and kettle available .
The facilities of the complex were good with a lovely bar area next to the pool with basic but decent choices all day long . My husband is coeliac and they were so accommodating - especially Puta who could not do enough to help make sure all the food served was gluten free.
The street just outside is full of little bars and decent restaurants fitting all budgets - not seedy at all and everyone very friendly with live music reggae style just over the road which is highly entertaining whether reggae is ur thing or not!!
10 minute stroll to the beach which again has loads of bars and places to eat .
I’m partially disabled and managed fine .
This place is great and haven’t any faults to write down at all .
We got a great deal on booking . com making the stay very affordable .
If you do come here - I hope you enjoy it as much as we did x

Dear SusieB312, The great review given represents what we have at Sagara Villas and Suites Sanur. Especially for Sanur, it is a fun place to visit because Sanur is a beautiful tourist destination with its beaches, a centralized and easy-to-find shopping place, of course with competitive prices. Likewise Restaurant and Bar which many choices make you feel at home to live in this area. Sagara Villas and Suites has all these facilities including a beach that you can use. Once again, thank you for your efforts to provide this information to the general public and looking forward to seeing you soon. Kind regards, Gede Hendra.

+1
This was our second stay in Sagara Villa’s. We frequently come to Bali, but over the years Sagara became a little to expensive for our budget. But this year under new management, the prices were affordable again. And boy, were we glad we booked 6 nights in this place. We rented a villa with private pool. The service is amazing. The staff really solves all your problems (if there are any). The manager made that clear from in the beginning. So if there is anything wrong, don’t write bad reviews afterwards, just inform the staff. Sagara is well taken care of. The garden is so nice, the pool is the cleanest we saw in Bali during our 4 weeks trip. Special thanks to Kadek and Rikki, who went shopping for us, to find a souvenir we really liked but did not find. There is a bar near the big pool, a big plus when renting a villa, in other places during the day those places feel a little deserted, not here. We really can not state any negative points here. We really look forward to staying here again in the future an we can only highly recommend this place to anyone who still has doubt booking a villa over here! Thank you Sagara!
