Our family of 4 spent 10 days here in one of the 2 bedroom villas. I would strongly recommend booking directly- since we encountered issues using the booking.com site. The villa is a short walk to the south end beaches, warungs and shops. It is on a quiet street. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was refreshing, but with many uneven tiles one had to be careful. Everyone in our family got cut from the pool tiles as did the other guests who were visiting at the same time as us. The breakfasts were good: fresh, filling and tasty! The villa itself was ok. The AC in the bedrooms worked well but the AC in the main room was less effective. It wasn’t working at all when we arrived and they were quick to have someone come repair it. The kitchen wasn’t that well equipped, however I know that had we asked for anything it would have been supplied...we just didn’t need it for our stay. Although the villa was clean on the surface, it would benefit from some more TLC and deep cleaning: corners, walls and windows and especially the pool tiles were damaged and in need of repair.…
We arrived on the Friday 20th of December and booked for 2 nights with my wife and 2 kids. We didn't expect too much as we new we only wanted budget so our expectations were not high. Booked online through booking.com. When we arrived the 2 bedroom villa we paid for was unfortunately not available. Hang on a minute, my credit card was debited ,our 2 bed room was confirmed and then was blatantly told , no you cant stay in this room as we have reservation for 12 days tomorrow. We had to take 2 separate 1 bed villas which was not what we paid for and certainly not convenient as a family with 2 small children. The rooms and bath were old and tired but again wasn't expecting too much. The one real bad thing which I consider pretty serious is the pool . Health and safety would of shut this place down years ago if they only new the condition of it. I cut my foot 3 times and my son once on the cracked tiles in the water. The pool edges under the water look like they have been tiled over from the original tile. The problem is when they overlay-ed the new tile the edging had not been cut properly and every tile around is as sharp as a razor .Im not kidding, you could slice your wrist over it . If you have kids avoid pool at all costs . Apart from this the surroundings are very tranquil. Its peaceful and quite enjoyable if you are only looking at relaxing for a while. The owner should seriously look at either demolishing and starting again or renovate to fix the serious problems in which we experienced on our stay.…
If you like a quieter part of Sanur, this will work for you. The location was within short walking distance to the beach, although a bit far from the central area and markets. There wasn't a convenience store within close proximity, which of course was rather inconvenient. We used the Bluebird App a few times with success. The villa size was perfect for a family, with lounge/dining space, large fridge and equipped kitchen, with 3 single beds in the second bedroom (one was eventually removed to allow our only daughter some space) and a 2nd toilet separate to the main bathroom available. There was plenty of plants around the property to provide a cool environment. The position of our villa and the layout of the property, made us feel as though we had little privacy, so kept curtains drawn most of the time. The wiring was of concern, with many light switches not working and one of the main kitchen lights continuing to flicker once turned off - this was particularly annoying during the night. The pool appeared unclean, showing a line of green slime around the sides and patches on the bottom tiles, so we chose not to swim. When booking this place I had built an impression that it would be a cosy, friendly, family run establishment. Unfortunately, we experienced an oddly uncomfortable feeling during our 4 day stay; something I haven't encountered before in my many regular trips to Bali. Only one of the two staff members we saw during our stay, had minimal interaction with us the whole time. Things were not well explained, so we weren't even sure if water was supplied. We felt the accommodation was overpriced at $112 p/n for 2 adults and 1 child (including a very simple breakfast), especially considering the overall condition and presentation of the villa, which needed some maintenance, updating and TLC. We decided to cut our losses and chose to move on two days early, without requesting a refund.…
the pool was a treat, friendly advice from Ron!! please do the cooking class...it was hands on and fun...bonus recipe book at the completion! its not 5* buts its great value for money with a traditional homely touch.
Yet again we returned to our paradise. We felt wecolmed as old friends and treated like kings and queens. Really enjoy the laid back atmosphere and nothing is any trouble. Room was more than we needed and breakfast each morning freshly cooked was great. We will see Irma. Ron and his team again when we return to Bali
