Stayed here for a week, We had a large room with twin queen size beds, plus a sofa. The bathroom had a large shower at one end with wardrobe space and drawers at the other end. This is a resort with lovely gardens that are lit at night giving it a very special feel. The resort is right on the beach, there's a path along the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with lots of fresh fruit, yoghurt , fresh bread plus cooked dishes. eggs are cooked to order. As others have said the sea is very shallow so not suitable for swimming in. A minor complaint is the lack of sunbeds on the beach, sadly you still get selfish people leaving towels on the beds but not using them. We loved the resort, ideal for a quiet beach holiday for families and people of a certain age!

Our second visit and if possible it's better than the first.
We were welcomed back with a lovely surprise of an upgraded room. . Close to the sea, the restaurant and inbetween the two pools.
Breakfast is huge and you can choose a different style each day for at least 10 days or mix and match. The egg station was my partners favourite and mine was the crepe and pancake station which I topped off with fresh fruit.
We spent most of our days under the shady trees on the beach which give you lots of shade and a cool breeze.
Lunches were from the bar area and we loved the club sandwich and found on a hot day that one between two was enough. It meant we had room for an extra beer or dessert.
Evenings we mainly wondered into the local town but we know the food in the restaurant is good as is the evening entertainment.
Make the most of both the Spa on site and the local massage on the beach. We enjoyed both on many occassions.
Slight improvement would be the sun lounges. Many are broken so altering them into a sitting position is a bit awkward. Also many pads are badly stained and could do with a clean.
Finally the staff are amazing from the very hard working groundsmen through to our cleaner. The restaurant staff with their helpful attitude and wonderful hello and up to the reception staff. We can't fault a one.
Jumarta just bought our lunch so time to enjoy. They are all outstanding and I wish I could get them all a big pay rise.
Two more days of paradise to go.

We booked the Mercure through a third party holiday organiser who recommended them to us, we paid the full price of the holiday, including the hotel fee upfront before our holiday to the third party organiser. Somewhere in the booking process the payment for the Mercure did not go through from the third party. Therefore we we checked in they were expecting us to pay at check out, we tried to explain what had happened but it was difficult with the language barrier. Eventually we managed to explain and they agreed that we would just pay a deposit but if all payments went through then we would not be charged on check out. For the hassle they also gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room. The rooms were immaculate and all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were not charged any additional payments for the room and the deposit did not even get taken off our credit card. The fault was not with Mercure but they still wet out of their way to apologise and make sure we had an enjoyable stay, couldn't fault them.

After our third visit now to the Mercure it’s still as good. Great a/c and big comfortable beds. Spent the days reading on the beach, swimming in the pools. Many restaurants within 15 minutes walk. Upstairs rooms better, with a nice verandah. Bathrooms are older but for what you pay it’s very good. Staff are exceptional.

We came back to this peacefull "resort" after 2 years and the room they gave us was better then before.
New tiles in the bathroom, brand new matras and pillows and everyting worked this time.
I know it very much depends on the state of the room you get here, so we were lucky and very happy.
The bungalows are nicely spread out through big gardens with plenty of wildlife (birds, all sorts of lizards, geckos, bats, squirrels and a couple of friendly cats) all very peacefull, not a sound of traffic.
This all spills over to a private beach with plenty of room to sit or lye about.
As I said, not all the rooms are perfect, they are older and need maintanance, but they seem to be doing this all the time now.
The staff is always friendly and helpfull.
We didn't use the restaurant much, but there are so many nice little places to eat and drink nearby on the beach or in the road.
It was a great relaxing break in the middle of our travels through Asia.
