A hotel in a green setting. The beach is 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are beautiful, clean and large. The breakfast is plentiful and varied. And the restaurant is very good if you want to eat there. The staff takes great care of everyone. The swimming pool is completely redone and very very clean. We returned there 3 times during our stay and we were able to leave our suitcases there to go to the Gili Islands. Impeccable service. Well done to this team. Don't change anything: you're on top. We will come back, for sure.

Nice Pension with a beautiful exterior: large pool and beautiful garden. The rooms are comfortable but the wifi connection remains medium. As for the breakfast, it is okay but does not offer enough choices in our opinion. Overall, Best Value Award. I recommend

It’s a lovely, quiet and small old-bali Hotel.
Comfortable beds. Quiet AC. Quiet mini-fridge. Nice veranda with table and chairs.
Peaceful. Nice garden. Parking for our car. Close to the beach and lots of excellent places to eat.
Rising damp and a bathroom that needs renovations but it’s excellent for the price.

Profusely ignorant and unhelpful staff, long and exhausting drawn out stay. For some reason feel quiet unsafe- and don't expect breakfast if they say it's included- you're told in the morning that there's nothing left!

Having stayed in Sanur many times over the years we thought we’d give Hotel Segara Agung a try this trip.
This was our first time in this particular pocket of Sanur and overall we liked our 8 night stay here quite a lot.
As with any hotel, it wasn’t perfect and there were some areas where I thought they could make improvements.
I like to deal directly with hotels rather than booking sites.
Ketut the manager was very prompt with his emails. One thing I liked was that they didn’t require any deposit to secure our booking and Ketut gave me a price reduction for a long stay in low season.
We originally booked a Deluxe Room #6, but on arrival (late at night) we found the room not really to our liking.
The bathroom was very, very tired and desperately in need of an upgrade. There were no power points that weren’t already being used (couldn’t charge our tablets and phones unless we unplugged the fridge, TV or bedside lamps) and the aircon rattled a bit. But it was the hot sun belting in through the non block-out curtains at sunrise the next morning that sealed our decision to move to another room.
I went to reception and managed to upgrade to a vacant ground floor Junior Suite #23 for a small fee which was an excellent move. These newer rooms are much nicer and worth the extra cost. Larger room, cleaner bathrooms, satellite TV, lounge chair, desk/vanity, extra storage, plenty of available power points, etc.etc.
WHAT WE LIKED
- The hotel grounds were lush, tropical and very pleasant to walk through.
- Being off the main road and down a lane there was no traffic noise at any time of day. Sleep quality was excellent.
- Our Junior Suite was clean and modern.
- You could leave all your valuables in a safe at reception.
- The staff were always nice and friendly.
- The proximity to just about everything was a real plus. Once you hit the end of the driveway it was only 200m to the beach with about a dozen great restaurants and bars or 300m in the other direction to the main road for more great restaurants, moneychangers, ATMs, massage salons, shops, small supermarket for supplies, laundry, cafes and taxis. Everything you need is no more than 5-7 minutes walk away in any direction
- Not charging the usual 2-3% credit card fee when paying the final bill.
WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE
- Even though the breakfast was adequate (juice, coffee, fresh fruit, cereals, fried rice, bacon, eggs, toast and pastries) it never varied at all, ever during our stay. Towards the end we were paying for breakfasts at one of the excellent cafes (Asoka or Dusk Blue) nearby because we were getting really tired of the same breakfast fare every day.
- The pool area, although a nice spot with loungers and umbrellas, is not shaded at all by any trees. This meant the pool got very hot during the course of the day under the strong sun. The water temperature in the afternoon was literally like getting into a hot bath. Not very refreshing in the Balinese heat when you really need to cool down.
All in all though it really was a nice stay at Segara Agung and if they could just manage to keep the sun off the pool we would seriously consider becoming longtime repeat guests.

This was our 46th visit to Bali in 35 years, we now got to Bali twice each year and we have found this wonderful small hotel in the right place, the Sagara Agung is situated at the end of a lush treed driveway and hidden to all who don`t know whats at the end of it. wonderful helpful staff, clean rooms with Breakfast thrown in, clean pool and excellent gardens. we have already booked our next stay for next march when we will stay another two weeks, its situated in the perfect location for the wonderful, cheap Restaurants on the beach where you can do any number of water sports or sit back with a ice cold beer and watch the fishermen bring in there catches, the rooms are air conditioned to ice cold, fridge is supplied and you can sit on your balcony and watch the kites and the world go by, the best part of being in Sanur is that there are no nightclubs or yobbos. just like Bali is supposed to be. many people who are staying elsewhere in Bali come to this Hotel for a few nights before departing, they then wish that they had stayed at the Hotel Segara Agung instead. there are 4 different types of rooms to choose from. ask me a question if you have one. note there are a few with the name Segara so make sure your looking for this one.

My girlfriend and I explored all over Bali and stayed in numerous of places towards the budget end of the spectrum. Of all our experiences, Segara Agung was our hands-down favorite! It offers excellent service, a beautiful garden, and a secluded yet central location just a 2 minute walk from the beach.

Just returned from 2 weeks staying at this lovely hotel.
Segara Agung is quiet, peaceful and once you walk
Through the entrance, you are away from the hustle and bustle
of the outside world.
The gardens are beautifully maintained, the rooms are clean and
comfortable and the service is exceptional.
This would have to be one of the nicest hotels that we have
stayed.
It is not expensive to stay but it could match any 5 star hotel
for all it offers.
Also, the staff are all fantastic, professional and very friendly.

The rooms are adequate but tired. 1 of our rooms had mould stains to half a metre on 1 wall. There is an appalling waste of plastic bottles and even worse single use plastic cups at the breakfast buffet! We asked if we could rent or buy a water cooler dispenser & the answer was no. Thought we were crazy! Breakfast was edible. The staff from reception through to housekeeping and gardeners are absolutely lovely!! I don’t like writing bad reviews but I have to be honest. The plastic bottle issue was upsetting .

Very nice hotel with pool & bathtub. 5mins walk to the beach & The "Nest"(top massage & spa in Sanur). Many nice restaurants are stone throw away. The staff are very pleasant & courteous. The buffet breakfast though not a widespread are delicious. All are well except for their towels, though cleaned most have stains on them.

very close to the beach, and many bars and eateries close by, a bit of a walk to the main part of Sanur. Hotel grounds are very nice too.
try Gotya Candidasa Taxi - Day Tours look them up in TripAdvisor, Gejor the owner, can be trusted. If you hire a taxi from the airport it will cost you much more.
Actually ive confused delux with junior suite room.Delux is older, maybe uot to 15-20 years, but clean and ok, new rooms, junior suites are under 2 years old. but more pricy, but they do some good specials
