Eric, our butler, and his team of staff were outstanding from the moment we set foot in the lobby. We were made to feel incredibly special and welcome from the outset, and this continued throughout our stay. This beautiful hotel has every conceivable comfort and amenity, and the staff's approach to ensuring our comfort was second to none. No request was too much, and we were always met with a welcoming smile, no matter the time of day.
Our private pool suite was spacious and stunning, and with the added pampering of high quality bath products, linens and an included mini-bar, we wanted for nothing. Further, the staff thoroughly yet discreetly serviced the room several times each day, so that we never wanted for anything.
I would not hesitate in staying at Awarta again in the future; indeed, it will be the first place I will look for availability on my next visit to beautiful Bali.
Thank you Eric and the team at Awarta. You made our holiday a very special one.
Until next visit, terima kasih.

We are from Adelaide, South Australia and have stayed in the best luxury resorts in the Maldives, Kenya and elsewhere and this beautiful place is quite amazing; we were there from 29 Dec to 7 January 2020. There was a birthday cake in our room on arrival and the bathtub ready and covered with flower petals; it was my birthday shortly before we arrived. The villa was wonderful and clean (and the overall design, decor, space, bathroom, bed, facilities, WHICH included free fully restocked bar daily) with wonderful towels and toiletries including Bvlgari, with great pool, totally secluded, huge daybed, separate very beautiful well maintained gardens, restaurants and food, spa, all staff (be it gardeners, housekeeping, restaurant, reception, spa staff) were truly outstanding (polite, friendly, timely, helpful, competent). We met the resort manager and restaurant manager and they couldn't be more friendly and accomodating and knew us by name when ever they saw us, as did the other staff we met/passed or had reason to communicate with. We also met Naomi Siawarta, Director/owner of this wonderful place and spent nearly 2 hours chatting with her; she truly understands what it means to run/oversee a family owned/operated resort where you are treated like family (unlike many large international chain resorts that have an employed manager overseeing everything, and are essentially managed/dictated to by overseas management). She and her family who designed and set this resort up, including the very beautiful gardens, were also all at the New Years Eve dinner and celebration, and the food, unique fire-dancing entertainment and fireworks were simply wonderful. Having travelled widely and stayed in some great luxury locations/resorts, but there are few we'd immediately say we'll return to, however we can say we will return to Awarta as soon as we can. When ever we wished to go to the nearby Bali Collection shopping centre where we found hundreds of clothing outlets and restaurants, Awarta dropped us there, or picked us up after, even if we were eating out rather than at the resort. They also dropped us to the airport when we left, in their limousine. We received complementary high afternoon tea, and spa/massage treatments and they were very good. To Naomi Siawarta and staff; congratulations on what you have achieved, the way you run your resort, and how you made us feel; we will be back.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend four beautiful nights staying in a 1 bedroom villa (6) at Awarta Villas & Spa. The villas are pure luxury and everything is included to ensure you have a memorable stay. The furnishings, bedding, towels & toiletries are all top quality and no expense has been spared to ensure the villas are first class. The resort provides a complimentary mini bar (topped up daily) including beer, chips, chocolate & soft drinks. Our own private pool with waterfall was gorgeous and the outdoor entertainment area complete withTV was so comfortable. As we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary the resort organised a rose petal bath on arrival which was so lovely and enjoyable.

The villas are huge with a walk in wardrobe, seperate shower, toilet and another bathroom with a bath. There was 2 outdoor showers, 3 televisions a sitting area and an office area. Pure luxury!

The staff at Awarta are exceptional. They are the most friendly and obliging staff we met during our travels in Bali. Our daily breakfast was delicious and we could order what ever we liked from the breakfast menu including fresh coconuts. We also had an 90 minute complimentary massage which was beautiful in the gorgeous day spa.

The beach is across the road, down a path (approx 800m) but an easy straight walk.

The resort also has a huge pool, Chinese restaurant, restaurant & bar. We ate at the Long Table and the good was delicious.

If you are looking for a quiet resort with the best staff and pure luxury then look no further than Awarta Villas and Spa.

We absolutely loved our stay at Awarta and hope to return again one day soon.

Thank you for looking after us so well Awarta.

Our small family had a very memorable stay at Awarta Nusa Dua Resort and Villas.
We stayed in both the private pool suite as well as the one bedroom villa with private pool. Both accommodations exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, the mini bar was refilled each day and completely complimentary.

The resort grounds is luscious and full of greenery. We managed to take some lovely family photos around the resort. The grounds are lit up after sunset by candlelight so it makes for romantic evening walks.

Breakfast was always delicious and it was extra special when they deliver breakfast to your villa. The pancakes and the century egg congee were the favourites.

The staff were always courteous and no request was ever too much. The shuttle bus service was an added bonus and we were always dropped off and picked up by the hotel quickly and safely.

Thank you for a wonderful stay to Addi and team, hopefully we will be able to come back again :)

I had a four day break on a recent business trip to Asia-Pacfic, and could not have picked a better spot to spend it than Centara Grand Villas Nusa Dua. Still in "soft opening", I was able to book a one-bedroom villa for an incredible deal (book now while you can still get this!). There are 64 suites being constructed on the property, but at no point did I hear any construction noise in my private villa or in the resort amenities.

From the moment I arrived at the Denpasar airport, every moment of the next 4 days was pure pleasure. I was greeted by hotel staff at the airport and whisked away in a brand new luxury van to the resort property, where check-in was quick and easy. Rendy, who met me at the airport and assisted with check-in, showed me to my villa and after a quick foot massage and scrub, showed me the around and explained the villa. Even the wifi was good!

I took a short video tour of the villa, you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inJG2q6eZZQ

I took some time in the spa and found it was world-class and very well priced. I had a 90 minute massage, which was bumped up to 105 minutes thanks to a 15-minute massage gift-certificate I received at check-in. The facilities were excellent and the quality of my treatment was as well.

I ate at both the restaurants, Long Table and Ru Yi (Chinese) and both were excellent. The "spa" menu for lunch at Long Table was especially a treat with the Lobster and Watermelon dish that I came back for the next day as well. Service at both restaurants was impeccable. The resort manager and food & beverage manager came over to introduce themselves and check in on my stay multiple times.

Twice I went to the beach club affiliated with the resort. It's worth noting that the hotel does not have its own beach-front property, but is a member of an amazing beachfront club located a couple of km away. The staff was happy to arrange transportation to and from the beach and the staff of the club also offered the highest level of service. The food in the restaurant on-site was also amazing. Just bring your visa card, they don't take american express and you cannot bill to your resort folio at Centara. It should also be noted that this club can be reserved for private events (receptions, weddings, etc) and it is closed to Centara guests at those times, which are usually late afternoon or evening so minimal impact as your skin will already be tanned from the Bali sun.

I cannot say enough abut the quality of service and friendliness of the staff. Each of the staff knew my name and greeted me whenever I saw them. I was genuinely sad to say goodbye at the end of the trip. A big "suksma" to the entire team at CGND.

I would recommend this resort to anyone and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Many hotels can seem fabulous when all is well, however a simple test for a good hotel is how they deal with issues when things go wrong. Throughout our entire stay of 11 nights, we saw the staff at Awarta (up to and including the GM) have no comprehension of how to face up to and deal with probkems. When the inevitable issue arises, their staff either lie, mislead or simply try to ignore the problem and hope it goes away.

Much of the interaction was with the F&B team. Whilst warm and friendly, they refuse to admit menu ‘errors’ or replacements unless pushed. Examples: juices on their menu are claimed to be fresh, this was evidently not always the case, yet only after pushing the wait staff would they admit to using cartons. Similar situation with ice cream and sorbet. Not a great situation to be in if you’re lactose intolerant. In both instances a simple upfront admission would have sufficed, certainly trying to cover up these changes should never be acceptable. Where people have serious allergies, the consequences of this type of attitude can be dire.

If items are unavailable, I expect the staff to mention it and ask if we’d like a replacement. Awarta thinks it’s acceptable to bring half a dish, not mention they were out of some products, and hope we didn’t notice. Their response “oh sorry, we ran out, we’ll bring some tomorrow “.

At least in the above they brought the two meals we ordered at the same time. This isn’t always the case. They also think it’s fine to bring room service orders 10 minutes apart. Either have breakfast separately or one of us has a cold omelette. This is simply indicative of both a poorly organised kitchen, and poorly trained staff

The above was irritating, the below completely inexplicable. When asking for green tea with our dinner, the waitress brought out English Breakfast. Assuming it was a simple mistake, I informed her. She the preceded to argue that I was wrong to order green tea, I should in fact have asked for English Breakfast. A second time of asking her to bring the tea we requested met the same response. That we’re wrong to order it. At which point I may have been snarky and suggested to her that the clue was in the name, and we were at dinner not breakfast. How anyone can be trained to override a guest choice of beverage is beyond me.

The penultimate issue was the NYE celebration. Typically pregnant ladies don’t like to drink alcohol. When we pointed this out to the staff during the first hours welcoming drinks, we were told our options were champagne, cocktails or water. If you’re paying the amount Awarta requested for their NYE celebration, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to cater for people who don’t drink alcohol. A request for fresh juice was met with a simple ‘no’. Our request to speak to a manager ‘certainly’. Of course this being Awarta, no manager ever came to address this.

Whilst by no means a deal breaker, this was annoying. The fact that whoever setup their sound system installed two speakers for the entire location, inside and out. This meant any attempt to converse was impossible. Sitting our table two metres away from these speakers didn’t help. The owners were actually comparing the event, and noted that they would fire the sound engineer, although obviously mentioned in jest.

The final nail in the coffin is the GM. We were checking out late evening. As such I’d booked the room until the next day, given it was over New Years and they were busy. After the above and other problems which are too numerous to list, I spoke with the GM after breakfast. Whilst the conversation seemed to be well received, and certain issues he didn’t seem surprised at given they were at full occupancy for the last few days of our stay, the end result was he simple paid lip service. The end result was an offer of afternoon tea and massage “if it was available”. Given this was already early evening, we needed to pack, head out for dinner and leave for the airport, we declined. The next offer was a 3% discount on our extra charges. I’ll let you judge whether that’s commensurate, but given it was such an insultingly small number (equal to around USD 30), we rejected it.

To compound all of this, on checkout they presented us the final bill. With the full cost of the NYE dinner included. Which I had already prepaid two weeks earlier. Upon pointing this out to the staff at front desk she told me they had just blocked the card (they hadn’t but I couldn’t show that at the time), she was just an employee and she would have security prevent me leaving for our flight unless I paid. Twice. So asides from all the above, I have a claim for almost $300 which they have overcharged me.

I communicated with Emily, the reservation manager, regarding the double payment. Her response was that she apologised for both the double charge and slow breakfast service. If anyone has bothered to read all of the above, I’ll let you decide both if you think the issue with Awarta is that they don’t deliver food on time and whether to book this hotel.

As an aside, the reason we booked here was the service and boutique nature of the hotel, acknowledging that the location for beaches wasn’t great. If you are looking for Uluwatu beaches, this really isn’t the hotel for you. As a final point, if you are planning staying primarily in the hotel during your stay, the main dining option is below par compare to hotels located in the vicinity (Sofitel and Westin), both in terms of quality and price (approximately 20-30% more expensive). That being said, their Chinese restaurant is actually very good

Exceprts from the conversation I had with the wife upon checking in our Royal Orchid Villa.

Me: "Wow, just wow"
The Wife: "Can we please extend to another 1 more week please hubby? The villa is awesome, I don't wanna leave this place!!"
Me: "Yeah we could, but i'll be out of a job once we are back for taking unauthorised last minute urgent leave". (While wondering out loud the possibility and what reasons could I possibly give to my boss if I were to extend my leave at the very last minute)
Me (asking my 1 year old son): "Hey kiddo, how do you find this place?"
My Infant Son: "goo goo gaa gaa fdghjdijdigh" (While running all around the huge villa exploring all the nooks and crannies, FYI: 99% of the time spend in the villa was chasing him around.)

Kudos to our butler Mr Sastra and Ms Citra for your kind and warm hospitality. Sastra was like an old friend showing us around the villa upon checking in and even patiently explaining how to use the coffee machine. Every night without fail, there would be cakes waiting for us on the table with a note.

The Royal Orchid was divided into 3 separate areas,
1) The main bedroom, the bed was so huge that I felt it could fit 3 other wives. (But sadly I only have one wife, I'm so gonna get smacked hard in the head if my wife were to read this, but I love you darling, only). Comes with a good sized TV and adequate TV channels. The ensuite bathroom itself was as big as a 1 room apartment, it was divided into an indoor shower with rainfall showerhead, an outdoor shower and of course, the bathtub which could fit both me and the wife comfortably. There was also a TV and aircon right infront of the tub.

2) The indoor dining room with aircon and TV, it's great for those days which you felt like dining in airconditioned comfort and chilling out on the sofabed.

3) The outdoor dining, we had our breakfast there every morning which was delivered and prepared for us.

The highlight of our stay, the swimming pool with a cascading waterfall. We spend so much time in the pool that now I'm googling "will I get a chlorine contamination in my body for spending too much time in a pool?". The pool was adequately spaced and depth out that I'm able to do short laps.

The outdoor gazebo was a nice addition and it was strategically placed beside the cascading waterfall. So imagine just laying down with a good book and soothing waterfall sounds. I was already thinking that if I had a fight with the wife, this would be a good substitute than a couch. (for the record, no fights happened)

On the last night, we were greeted with a lovely sight. On the bed was two swans with rose petals scattered all over and formed into the words "Happy 5th wedding anniversary" and the bathtub was filled with rose petals. It was such a memorable gesture by the Awarta staff meant for a romantic night. (Sadly nothing happened though as our infant was up all night placing catch)

Once again, I applaud the Awarta staff. Their level of hospitality and warmth was natural. I noticed that they had not much staff but it seems every staff was multi-tasking and trained in all aspects and every details and needs was attended to promptly. They give you attention but at the same time accord you with privacy when needed.

We will be back Awarta, truly feels home away from home that I fear i'm getting 'Awarta Homesickness'.

There are loads of hotels on Nusa Dua beach, but they are all tired looking, over populated and not one is directly on the beach, actually they all have their restaurants on the beach instead.

Stay at Awarta if you want luxury, privacy, and loads and loads of space with terrific staff and delicious breakfasts brought direct to your Villa each morning.

After your day trips you will feel so relaxed and refreshed staying here. You can choose to eat at one of their two restaurants or if your kids want pizza one night, you can order online from many restaurants and they'll deliver straight to the villa (Awarta don't have pizza on their menu and my kids needed it).

Heres some suggestions for your Bali Holiday with Kids.
Book a Ubud, Rice paddy, Volcano day trip from any tour company for $60 AUD for the car not per person.. it's a beautiful 8-10 hour day trip. But pre-negotiate to cut out everything else ie the markets and all the coffee plantations that your driver will definitely push to take you. He gets a commission from every stop you make and every purchase you make, and the prices are not cheap. 100grms coffee $17 AUD. The coffee sales people are uncomfortably pushy. Pack some snacks for your kids, there's not many opportunities to stop for food breaks.

Beware of the volcano cliff view stop, you will be launched upon by aggressive sellers.
I just made up gibberish words towards them in another language and they thought i couldn't speak english so they left us alone. My kids burst out in laughter. Easy way to get the sellers off your back..

The more stops you make, the less likely that you will see the paddy fields. The traffic coming back is terrible, so push hard to only see these three. The longer the driver keeps you out the more you have to pay him. You need to leave Ubud by 5pm. Also eat lunch at the Elephant Restaurant in Ubud, with this same tour. You need to make a reservation. online or ask Awarta to book for you. If you wait for your driver to book it, he will charge a commission on top. Book lunch for 1.30-2pm as thats about the time you'll get to Ubud. The food is amazing at The Elephant, its very small and boutique- check it out on Trip advisor, you won't be disappointed.

Book the Uluwatu temple tour for another day, and visit amazing beaches beforehand with cave formations. ie Blue point. But beware you need to pay a little cash per person for each beach you visit, and wear walking shoes that can get wet, the rocks walking down to the beach can be a bit tricky to negotiate. My pre teen kids walked all stairs down and up no problem.

Book dinner at Ayana Rock Bar, you can do this easily online. But you should do this at least a week or two before hand. The Ayana has a great outdoor Italian restaurant overlooking the ocean too, but its not on the rocks. The Rock bar is something different and very special. You can dress up, or not. Some do some don't. Be prepared for loud funky music, its not a quiet place, and after 9pm the waves kick up a bit over the rocks and you may get a little wet if you have a table right on the edge. We brought our kids with us. They loved it. taxi back was very easy from hotel foyer. $40 trip fare back to Awarta.

We had the best calamari, greek salad and sea bass at the Rock bar for dinner, over looking the most amazing view. You actually don't need to eat dinner at the rock bar, they have finger foods available, but then they will expect you to order alcohol, and beware the drinks are not cheap.

The beach in front of Sofitel (nearest to Awarta) is not that nice. Grainy sand, over populated, no breeze and not much surf. We discovered another very nearby beautiful beach with surf school (and one on one lessons $60 AUD lesson per person includes board, surf shoes and 1-1 instructor), but pack your own towels, beach bag (Awarta doesn't provide a beach bag). Ask Awarta to drive you there (its only 2 mins by car) or you could go to Bali Collection (the nearby mall- it's nice), and the far end of the mall (near Dirty Duck Restaurant) there you can walk 2 mins to this beach (on right) with soft white sand, blue water and surf (Hotel Peninsula Beach fronts this beach), but its not a nice hotel.

For Awarta, bring your pool toys, we brought a giant swan float and pump our kids loved it. Bring also some reading material Awarta doesn't have a library. We also brought a heap of DVD's for the kids from home, but they don't have dvd players in the Villa. However the staff obliged and within an hour had one put in the kids bedroom.. The two bedroom villa had 3 super king size beds in two separate rooms. A huge round bath, massage table and more.

Definitely stay at Awarta, you won't regret it.

Unbelievably beautiful villa and resort. Stayed in the Royal Orchid. The private pool was large and the waterfall was so peaceful. The outdoor daybed had a cabana roof and a ceiling fan in it for a constant breeze. Outdoor living room and separate, indoor dining room. The staff was world class. Excellent service. Phenomenal attention to detail. Every morning they had two men playing these beautiful percussion instruments. Coconuts grew on the trees in the resort. Bonsai trees. Two wonderful restaurants. 24 hour gym. Private driver picked me up from the airport and dropped me off there, and also took me around the island from place to place. Excellent management and extremely gracious and helpful staff. Everything was absolutely top notch.

It took me 10 minutes to walk to the beach, the hotel will give you directions, you’ve to go on a lane between hotels. You can hire beds at the beach.

Hi do your restaurant menus include gluten free options?

One of my buddies was gluten free and the staff went out of their way to ensure he was safe. The gluten free bread at breakfast was excellent, and the staff of the Ru Yi Chinese restaurant also were able to guide him to gluten free (or able to be made gluten free) options even on that menu.
