Recently had a great 5 night stay at the Merusaka Resort in Bali. Staff were unbelievably good, very friendly, always smiling. Always helpful. Resort was first class- food varied, facilities top class and accomodation clean and large. Very impressive resort. Big thank you to Andi and Dwi- both provided top class service- both are a big asset to your business. Will come back.

Only stayed 2 nights post cruise but thoroughly enjoyed the resort. Long lines at reception meant quite a wait to check in. Unfortunately a coach of post cruisers had just arrived at the same time as pre cruisers were checking out. Would have appreciated a cold drink and flannel, someone was wondering about but never received one. Our room was 2313 was very clean, very spacious with a massive bathroom, but tiny balcony. Given the room size there was minimal storage in the way of drawers, just large open selves. Overall very comfortable, very good air con. Buffet breakfast had a very good selection, omelettes to order were excellent. Had one meal at the Bistro, which was very nice and the service excellent. Happy hour between 5~7pm. Pool areas could do with a touch up but gardens all well kept. Always found a good spot on loungers on the beach which was exceptionally clean for the area. Very relaxing couple of days after a manic sight seeing cruise, appreciated the rest in such a beautiful place. Will return to spend more time for sure.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are friendly . It has a free pools in the resort and one near the beach with an infinity pool. The room we had had its own pool. You can walk to Bali collection it’s only a 5-10 min walk and there are nice restaurants there or you can eat at the resort. To get around Bali you will need a driver. I have used mine a few times that I have come here.

Amazing hotel, friendly staff, very nice atmosphere and felt very cozy although it's a big hotel. Loved the lobby with all the natural light and the relaxing traditional music. Room was very spacious, everyday service even the days we left the room in the afternoon. They offer a very diverse breakfast that cannot leave anyone unsatisfied. Hotel restaurants were ok, for me homaya had the best tastes. Great beach, sandy and not very busy, we took long walks everyday.

Firstly a positive in a thank you for the welcome from the hotel to celebrate our 30th year together the cake, card and bath were a lovely surprise ...........however whilst getting out of the bath on our 1st day I sliced my foot open on a broken tile on the step in the bathroom ( Room 3114 ) which severely impacted our holiday as I could not use the plunge pool for which we paid to upgrade or any of the main pools or go in the sea I could not take part in any tours and jet skis etc with my friends When my wife contacted reception to request cleaning fluids etc to clean up the blood they sent housekeeping with a brush however I understand there is a language barrier so she then went to reception and was given a small 1st aid kit which we have used and had to purchase more I think due to the language barrier the staff did not understand the severity of the injury even when I showed it to reception staff We returned home and I attended A&E to have it checked where it was deemed that they cannot stitch it closed due to the loss of tissue therefore I have an open wound in the middle of my foot until it heals !!!!!!!!!!!! I am an avid hiker and obviously this will interfere with my plans to do the Portugese Camino in April. I have tried various ways of contacting the hotel but as yet I have not received any replies It is a shame I have had to write this as the hotel and staff are great and in fairness it has ruined what up until then was the best holiday ever

Response from MERUSAKA Nusa Dua, General Manager at Merusaka Nusa Dua
Responded 1 week ago
Dear Paul, My apologies you suffered a cut foot whilst in our hotel. We have a 24 hour clinic in the hotel, staffed by a qualified medical nurse and with a doctor in attendance every afternoon, but I believe you stated you preferred to handle it yourself with our first aid kit. Obviously, our Front Office staff are not medically trained, beyond first aid levels, and will always recommend the In House Clinic for any injury. We also have an International Hospital, the BIMC, just two minutes drive from the hotel with a fully functioning A&E department that could also perhaps have been of use to you. I hope you are now fully recovered, and my apologies again. With best regards. Ian Cameron General Manager

The resort itself is a gorgeous place to experience. The surroundings are green, lush and beautiful. There are multiple pools to lounge by and have a refreshing dip. Rooms are set up in different sections but all a short stroll to the restaurants and pools. The rooms are well appointed and spacious. The resort is beach front and the beach itself had many lounges to relax. Well maintianed rooms Very comfy bed and a great home away from home.

Nice affordable hotel in nusa dua. I stayed for 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel has beachfront. Very nice. The staff Miss Rai from kids club is very friendly and nice. We would like to thank you for her help in kids club. But maybe the hotel can improve toys in kids club with maybe a slide or playground. The room is just okay with the price . my sink got clogged. Maybe need a lot maintanance for the room. air conditioner in the room 6408 was very hot. We had set the temperature 16 degree celcius. But still hot. And the electric water heater kettle was broken. The good news is this hotel is near with bali collection (mall). You can walk to the mall or to the beach. The breakfast was good nice. Worth the money.

The checking in process took ages no welcome drink or cold towel for a refresh as it was so hot and humid. After waiting over 20 minutes finally got sorted but had to wait a few hours for our room to be ready. Our ocean view suite was very impressive at first glance welcome fruit and chocolate on arrival nice touch but after having a good look round found that the furniture needed updating that said the room was very clean and a huge bathroom. There was a slight problem with the sheets as after our first night discovered holes in the sheets not what you would expect in a 5* hotel but after a quick phone call they were replaced. The hotel itself is lovely beautiful grounds near the beach and fabulous pools. The sun beds on the beach were disgusting heavily stained so needed 2 towels to cover them. Around the pool we noticed that some of the tiles and decking need some attention. Fair play the staff were amazing always happy and smiling nothing too much trouble, the location of the hotel is good as you can walk to the Bali collection where there are numerous bars and restaurants which were a bit expensive if you take a taxi to the small town costs £2.50 it’s much cheaper and if you eat in any of the restaurants they’ll take you back to your hotel free of charge. Overall we had a wonderful 5 day stay and would recommend but it does need updating and maintenance in some areas

After seeing the previous reviews, my partner and I were really skeptical about the resort and how our stay would turn out as a lot of the reviews were not the best however overall we really enjoyed out stay and it was much better than what we thought. We purchased an all inclusive package by Luxury Escapes for 7 nights in a deluxe room. Pros Great food and drink options, there is something for everyone Service was amazing and the staff were really personable Clean beach and facilities Heaps of pools through out of the resort Room was clean and the bed was huge and the free standing bathtub was a nice touch Cons The resort is a little dated, we have stayed at plenty of 5 star resorts and unfortunately the Merusaka Nusa Dua is not at that standard. You can hear anything and everything when you are in your room as the rooms need better sound proofing. Anytime other guest were in the halls or opening/closing their doors you can hear it very clearly and there was a bang every morning around 6am which became every annoying. If you are not all inclusive the prices of food and drinks are a little pricey. We recommend staying outside of school holidays as the resort can become very busy. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, we were really looked after and the all inclusive package was well worth it. Would recommend the same experience at the Merusaka Nusa Dua.

To be fair, I cannot say enough wonderful things about service staff. They bend over backwards to make everything wonderful. It is when you go higher up the chain, the problems start. I was injured, due to the unsafe bathrooms. The 'nurse' in the medical centre spoke no English so another person was called. A rather abrupt person then joined the mess and basically washed his hands of the matter and told us to go to a hospital was pretty dismissive. Also, the 'victim blaming was not appreciated. Apparently, it was MY fault I fell. Next, the resort is NOT disability friendly. The ramps in the resort are designed for golf carts, not wheelchairs. From our pool access room, there was no way you can easily make your way to the eating venues. If my son was not with me I would have become confined to my room. Also, grab rails in the shower should be installed. Next, the safe in our room was not secure. It could be picked up. Also, a mystery charge appeared on my husband's bank account a day after our arrival. The dismissive young lady at reception suggested his card must have been skimmed somewhere else, The only time his card left his wallet, his wallet with RFID protection, was at reception, on arrival. The wallet then went straight into the safe (the unstable safe) and his card was supposedly, safe. This resort, and I use the term loosely, again, victim blamed. There are no drawers or a draw in the bedside table. Take packing cubes, you will need them. This is not our first or our last trip to Nusa Dua but it will definitely be our last to this resort. We LOVE Bali. If this was our first trip to Bali, it would definitely be our last. Do yourself a favour - avoid this place like the plague.

Response from MERUSAKA Nusa Dua, General Manager at Merusaka Nusa Dua
Responded 4 weeks ago
Dear Omni360, Thank you for your comments on the staff here, on that I would certainly agree with you. I am sorry you sustained injury on our property, and you mention in an “unsafe bathroom” – our bathrooms contain a shower, toilet, bath and wash hand basin in a regular layout for a hotel bathroom. I fail to see how that would be inherently unsafe. Of course, if the floor is wet then, as in any bathroom, it will be more slippery than if dry, but that probably does not need stating. The nurse in our on-premises clinic did help to compress your ankle and apply ice to reduce inflammation, but it is a first aid clinic only and does not have X-Ray equipment which he suggested your going to the nearest international hospital for, less than five minutes from the hotel. This you rejected and I am, of course, gladdened that nothing therefore was broken or fractured. We do have ramps and elevators that connect all parts of the property where there are stairs, buggies only being used on the very main pathways. We have had many wheelchair bound guests that are able to access all hotel facilities. On the card issue, your Debit Card, as you say protected by RFID (so the card has to be physically present to be used, cannot be used remotely or customer-not-present), was not used on the day you checked in as it requires a Credit Card to leave an authorization, and you provided that other Credit card which we processed. The transaction on your Debit card, as per the photo you have provided was on the day after you checked in. As the hotel had never processed a transaction on that card, we would not have been able to do so without physical possession of the card, which as you say, was not the case as it was with you. I trust you have taken this up with your bank and I hope resolved any issues or misunderstandings. Again, thank you for your kind comments with regards to our staff. Ian Cameron General Manager
