Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Definitely one of the best spot to wake up early and take your breakfast with a breathtaking view on the ocean🏝. The owner is always here to ensure the journey is doing great - always with a smile ! 😁

The room is amazing- great view, huge and comfortable bed and great service. The host gave us a tour to the temple nearby. In the morning and evening she put free coffee on the table and breakfast is also included in the price, even if it is not mentioned on agoda. We experienced an earthquake, but we felt very safe on that hill and on the island.

Arrived in the afternoon and after checking in the host already was carrying fruits and coffee to the porch. The view is amazing and the only noice you can hear is the sea. The host kindly loaned us sarongs for the temple visit. Stay here if you can! Wi-Fi wasn´t working well but still a definite recommendation.

The view was simply amazing. We slept to the sounds of the waves with our doors open and woke up to the beautiful sunrise. My friend and I agree that the tree in front of the house got to go, it is blocking abit of the view. Bukit Sunrise Nusa is a distance from the port but it was a very easy ride from the port. Riding along the coast was probably one of the best thing in this trip. We are 2 girls with 2 big backpacks and we rented a scooter off the port to get here. Do not attempt the slope up, just park it below and take a min walk up. The owner will help you ride it up and park it in the homestay at night and ride it down again in the morning for you. One thing we couldnt figure is. Ibu always knew when we came home and start bringing us food and drinks. There is always coffee/tea and fruits. She doesnt speak english but you will figure (: It is a nice place to stay away from the main port but nothing beats the view and hospitality of the place.

We had a wonderfull time in Bukit Sunrise. The bedroom is just a dream with the ocean and sunrise view. The hosts are lovely and so toughtfull. When we got home after dinner they brought us tea. They have a scooter available for rent, wich is super convenient. It is easy to reach the activities by scooter despite the fact that the island is very big. The Goa giri Putri Temple is right next door and Atuh beach is very close. Would recommend this place for sure.

TripAdvisor review for Bukit Sunrise What a lovely stay we had! Gorgeous sunrise and even though the Agoda app said it didn’t include breakfast, Wayan served us banana pancakes each morning with a lovely selection of fruit (apple, tangerine, mangosteen, rambutan, watermelon, snake & dragon fruit) and a choice of black tea or coffee (no milk). She also kindly gave us a personal tour of the Goa Giri Hindu temple next door which is through a tiny hole into a massive stalactite cave venerating Shiva and Kwan Yin which is world famous. Definitely worth a visit for a small 20,000 donation. I booked Bukit Sunrise because of the epic view hearing the sound of gentle ocean waves because Nusa Penida has very few places with that kind of view, but it was a 35 minute drive from the harbour at Toya Pakeh which added an additional 400,000 round trip taxi cost to our visit. The shower is cold and to strengthen the water pressure, just turn the tap/faucet on and off. The nearest place for food was a lovely Warung called Buga Segara with tables in a traditional bale overlooking the ocean just a 7 min drive back towards the harbour. Meals are 25-50,000 with basic Balinese food. We saw one place advertising vegetarian food for tourists, but mainly the island just offers local warungs with few resorts and not much catering to other types of cuisine. The seafood skewer at SD Point was the best fish my friend had had in 5 years of living in Bali. Bikes are 70,000/day. Make sure you get receipts for all payments to avoid confusion later on. Snorkeling was OK (Buddha underwater temple off Toya Pakeh, Manta Bay, Crystal Bay and Gamat Bay) but Lembongan is far better and we came for manta rays but they swim far deeper at this time of year so can’t be seen unless you’re doing scuba diving. Overall, a great 2 day stay, but next time I would probably book somewhere closer to the port although you would have no view, so it was definitely worth having that. My friend is a photographer and took some stunning photos of the sunrise and me!

A perfect host, always attentive, always trying to please. People visiting Nusa Penida should firstly know what this remote rugged and picture-book island offers an any remarks made for lodgings should always be comparative to the surrounds. Taking this into consideration, Tisya's place is excellent, value for price, secure, and very secluded even from the "sparse populated town-centre". Here you can get your lullaby by the seawaves lashing the shoreline, whilst you wake up to a glorious morning with the sun streaming in once you open the curtains and see the blue ocean downward from the verandah. Grab a bike and you can go anywhere from here - as most visitors do. If bike's not your thing, then a hire car with a decent driver is only a request away and Tisya will arrange.
