Truntum Kuta is a great spot for holiday makers especially first timers. Location was close enough if you fell over you would be swimming in the beach or paying for your 10th handbag and shoe combo, this place is right in the heart of Kuta. Rooms were perfect for the hot weather, air conditioned, tiled floors and a good size for couples and families with 3 pools to choose from after a day of shopping and sight seeing. The hotel wifi was cranked up for our family of 20 people including children and the staff were so happy and helpful it made our stay so enjoyable. The inexpensive accommodation cost included a buffet brekkie and we also chowed down on their seafood night and returned for the Friday night sunset grill and show which was fantastic. A special mention to Yuli for looking out for our group during breakfast and dinner and the staff at reception for all their help. We all agreed that for a first time for most of us, the Truntum Kuta was a perfect spot for our group.

This is our second time at Truntum we came in February 2024. This time we stayed here for a month. We had a great pool side room by the Kappa pool which is our preferred pool. As with last year the staff are friendly and can’t do enough to make your stay enjoyable.

When we arrived the pool bar pool was closed for renovation, this didn’t affect us but I know lots of guests were annoyed as we were not informed before arrival. The pool reopened during our 3rd week of our stay.

The room was comfortable with a huge bed, good air con and a powerful hot shower. The room was cleaned everyday with 2 small bottles of water provided. The room has a small fridge which was nice and cold. The downside is the TV has limited English channels, I know you don’t come away to watch TV but it’s nice to relax in the room sometimes.
Pool towels are provided so no need to pack beach towels which is great.

Breakfast was good with a wide selection, I’m a vegetarian and always found something to eat. The food is more catered to an Asian taste with noodles, rice and stews available for breakfast. They do have an egg station, fruit station, waffle or fresh pancakes made daily. They have a large pastry section and a few cereals provided. There is also a section for bacon. Lots of juices, tea and coffee. Again the resturant staff are all lovely and friendly.
We ate out a few times for breakfast as eating out here is so cheap and the breakfast is very repetitive. We did know this having visited before.

We attended 3 time their Friday Fire dance show which was great value for money and had a good buffet.

Downside is the internet isn’t great, we were also here during the low season, I can imagine how bad it would be during high season!

The hotel is in a great location next to the beach with lots of shops, restaurants and bars close by.

A big shout out to Intan, Dayu, Lina, Uli and Dina who made our stay special. These are truly lovely ladies.

It had all the elements for me to enjoy my holiday. The room provided to me was excellent probably an upgrade as understood from the reception. Everything was working fine for me in the room. Had some small requirements on a couple of occasions like extra tea bags, additional cleaning and the housekeeping was very prompt to meet those within the shortest possible time. Some renovation work was in progress, it was a bit of an annoyance but nothing much to complain.

The food options available was satisfying for me, I tried the local food at the Warung, found it quite satisfying and was pocket friendly too. But I believe the menu can improve to satisfy varied customer needs. The breakfast served at the HQ too was also quite satisfying with the guys / girls taking care of even personal needs. We were even provided with customized juice for the morning breakfast. The food at offer was quite varied and they tried to present something new every day for the 4 days we spent there.

The location is simply fantastic, as you can walk out directly to the Kuta beach from one side as well as to the main road on the other side. Lot of shopping and eating options in the vicinity.

Overall loved my stay.

Loved the location, hotel spills out onto Kuta Beach, the three brilliant pools, included breakfast with good array of foods, was great overlooking a pool and through to the beach, staff are exceptional.

I booked a family holiday, 4 rooms in total. 3 rooms did not have balconies, in fact all rooms apart from the executive room, do not have balconies. We booked the executive room which I must say is fantastic. It is huge with an enormous patio overlooking the beach. Two negatives, the patio is exposed to the westerly sun and requires some shading, and the noise of the air conditioning units out on the patio spoilt the ambience. This could be avoided if the air conditioners were moved to an alternate area on the wall behind the bed. All rooms had the usual amenities and were very comfortable.

The spa treatments within the hotel were first class and each day they would have a special on.

Plenty of good restaurants in the area, watching the sunset from beach chairs, boardwalk goes for miles and wonderful for that early morning walk.

Booked directly with Truntum which we thought would be the best price, but it wasn't, so check out alternative booking sites for best prices. One thing I didn't like on check in was that they ask for around 500,000 INR (around $A50) to be debited to your credit card which gives you license to book hotel spending to your room. We all paid cash and they are to reverse the debit. Mind you, it will take a couple of weeks and will incur charges on both transactions.

All in all would highly recommend staying at the Truntum.

The hotel left the most pleasant impressions. I think this made the two weeks in Bali feel like a holiday.
The hotel is located right next to the city beach, the “hike” to which took 1 minute: step over the rope fence - and you’re on the beach! That's why you see and hear the ocean breathing. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The wonderful Italian restaurant Little Italy is a 7-minute walk, and the fish restaurant is a little more, about 10. And there are a lot of cafes and shops along the way. A 15-minute walk is the local traditional market where you can buy fruit.
The hotel has a large, beautiful and well-kept garden-like area with three swimming pools, one of which is more suitable for swimming, and the other two just for swimming. All three pools have a children's area, and, of course, a bar. There is a spa salon. Very good massage therapists.
There are two restaurants and a lobby bar on site; in the evening, tables are set up in the courtyard, which opens directly onto the shopping street, where not only hotel guests can dine.
The hotel has excellent staff, wherever you go you are greeted with smiles and kind words. They will definitely ask you how you are doing and how they can help you. Everyone speaks excellent English and is trying to learn Russian. But for some reason Russian tourists rarely visit this hotel. It would probably be worth mentioning everyone who works at the hotel, but I only remember a few names: Yuli, Intan, Laksmi, Kawi, Komang Adi, Eriawan. It should be noted that they not only served guests, but also organized a wonderful holiday once a week - Friday Sunset Grill Party with songs, dances (in which they themselves took an active part) and a fire show.
Perhaps it is worth noting two things among the wishes:
1) although we did not often have dinner at the hotel restaurant, we would like more variety of dishes for dinner;
2) there is no place to dry wet clothes; you have to hang them either on a frame or on a chair. There is a rope in the bathroom, but it doesn't dry well there.
Although, of course, these are little things that you pay little attention to.

Loved our stay at Truntum. It's located right by the beach and literally steps away from all the best shops and restaurants in Kuta. The staff were fantastic and helpful, ever ready with a smile. Special thanks to Laksmi, really enjoyed our chats 😊 the hotel had 2 dining options with a delicious breakfast buffet and cultural shows plus dinner by the pool (1 of 3 pools!) as well as an outdoor restaurant at the front of the hotel in the evenings. Laundry services were also offered at reasonable rates, usually same day or next day. The rooms while a bit worn (as were the towels) were spacious with decent AC and great water pressure. My only gripe would be not having phone charger ports by the beds but overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel. It's definitely the staff that made it so special. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations so I'll bet it'll be even better in the future. I'd be happy to revisit if we stay in Kuta again.

Stayed a week and could not fault this hotel! Got upgraded on arrival from a jnr suite to a Executive Suite and wow, such a large comfortable room, with part ocean view out the balcony and pool view from the other window (room 2240 - second floor). Third floor would have even better views. My 9YR old comfortably slept on the couch using a sheet we brought from home at no extra charge, she said it was comfy. I found the king bed very comfortable and they had two sizes of pillows (but I brought my own). Loveee that the room was quiet, never heard any other guests. This hotel is huge! And our room was right down the end so a bit of walking but worth it. Gardens are immaculate, every single staff smiles and says hello. Breakfast was so good! Two fresh egg/omelette stations, alternating hot food choices, really nice artisan seeded bread options etc etc. Waffles and pancakes alternate each second day so kids were always happy. The only things I didn't like was no outside visitors allowed for in room massage or hair braiding (nanny is ok) and the aircon is really cold in the room so bring a jumper. Also fireworks randomly on the beach some nights which is super loud and wakes the kids. Day spa was ok, $17au 1 hour massage on special, nice room, average quality massage and could hear people talking which was annoying. Drinks by the pool $10au for cocktails before 6pm, which were nice and strong / tasty. Oh and room service was fantastic, quick tasty & resonably priced ($8au nasi goreng $10au pizza). A few sections of the hotel need updating but they are renovating currently section by section. By bali standards I thought the hotel was well maintained generally and the room very well maintained. Overall I would definitely recommend!

We organised a 200+ pax group stay at Truntum Kuta and it was truly the best decision we ever made!

Location wise - the beach is just next door! And there are many popular cafes nearby. There’s also a beach walk mall that’s walking distance away.

Service - was excellent! Surya was our main contact person and he made sure everything went as smooth as possible, despite handling such a big group. We also went with their dinner at their ballroom, and the ballroom was decorated so beautifully, beyond our expectations! There were signboards made with fresh flowers and lighting around the signboards. The dinner food buffet was a spread and we had some really good Indonesian food!

Beach management services - there was also beach management services that we could engage and it was inexpensive. Came with many amenities - including chairs, waters, speakers, and also cleaning services. There’s also staff who were there with us for standby. Highly recommend for anyone whos holding games at the beach to engage them.

Overall, truly fantastic experience with Truntum Kuta! Thanks surya and team for coordinating and organising for us!

For the price of this hotel compared to other family hotels in Kuta you can't complain. It's excellent value, clean, comfortable, in a great location, and the staff are very welcoming. While it may not offer specific kids' activities, or a kids club, it more than compensates with its three pristine pools, including adjoining kids' pools and direct access to the beach!

Tip: If you're a seafood lover, do the buffet on a Monday night. The mains are cooked to order, and it includes a complimentary cocktail for approx $25 AUD!

Truntum Kuta, is possibly the best version of this hotel since the butterfly pool overlooked the beach.
We have stayed various times and in various room categories in this hotel since the early 2000’s.
I was a little hesitant as what to expect with the name change from Grand Inna and was pleasantly impressed by the many subtle changes made to improve the overall hotel experience.
Not only have they changed the name (same parent company) but they have looked to improve every part of the hotel.
The updated grand deluxe rooms have breathed new life into the original rooms, that now have a modern feel while retaining a touch of Balinese architecture, while the deluxe rooms in the newer buildings offer a great modern hotel room, some with access or views of the pool or even sea views.
The three pools all offer a different feel from social almost party vibes to relaxed chill and beach chic there is a place to swim no matter how you feel.
Would we stay again? Absolutely the location is perfect to take in kuta beach and the perfect place to learn to surf, direct access to the beach bars to chill and chat with new friends or just people watch, release baby sea turtles thanks to the hard work of the BSTS or access the best of Legian/seminyak or south towards jimbaran and uluwatu.
Lastly the staff are probably the greatest asset of the hotel, from the long term workers to the trainees they go out of their way to make you feel special.
So if you are looking for a great place to base your Bali adventure you can’t go past Truntum kuta as a great value hotel in an awesome location and the only hotel with direct access to the world famous kuta beach.

Dear rodneypP16115EM, We could see from your glowing review that you had an incredible experience at Truntum Kuta Bali. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your detailed review. We're thrilled to hear that you noticed and appreciated the improvements we've made since the name change from Grand Inna. We're especially glad you enjoyed the updates to our rooms, with a blend of modern amenities and traditional Balinese architecture. It's wonderful to know that our three pools catered to your different moods, providing a range of atmospheres for relaxation and enjoyment. We're honored that you found our location perfect for your Bali adventures, with direct access to Kuta Beach and convenient proximity to other attractions like Legian, Seminyak, and Jimbaran. And we couldn't agree more about our exceptional staff – they truly are our greatest asset, and we'll be sure to pass along your kind words to them. Thank you for choosing Truntum Kuta as your home base in Bali, and we can't wait to welcome you back for another unforgettable stay. Safe travels until we meet again! Warm regards, Management Truntum Kuta Bali

There are some tables not directly in the restaurant but outside near the exit to the beach where people can smoke. But during breakfast I did not saw people smoking in the restaurant On the other hand in the evening people can smoke wile sittings in the restaurant. The majority in Indonesia smoke. Enjoy your holiday.
